Had my 20 week scan today and all looks fine with the little one. We are having a baby girl and we will name her Julia.
I was so stressed about today after having had covid in January.

Oh @Starbeach, I just adore the name Edith! It's so Downton Abby. We're having a boy, but if we were having a girl the Downtonian in me would choose either Sybil, Edith, Mabel or Isobel. I just love Mabel.

I'm 20+4 and since 19 weeks I've had so much movement, kicks every morning and night, predictable too and was developing a pattern - but the last two days I've had hardly anything. Should I be worried? It's still early for a pattern but I'm anxious that it's reduced.

mrkb · 10/02/2022 13:13

@beansprout55 @Starbeach I loooove Edith and it's top of my list for our little girl. Also adore Mabel which used to be top before I thought of Edith but DH isn't so sure.

Clueless22 · 10/02/2022 13:36

@msbubbles85 congratulations on your scan and your beautiful baby girl xx

Ahhhhh I’m at my wits end with work. Isn’t it supposed to be that you wind down the further along your pregnancy? I’ve just been told to make sure I have time booked in for March to complete a massive project with the deadline of the 31st, I have a week off in March for my birthday (first time celebrating in two years thanks to covid), and I’ve still not been given the project! Meaning I have five weeks to complete something I have no idea what yet.
They’ve not hired anyone to help cover me, I’m the only one that knows my job, and it all falls on me. I am getting stressed about stress harming the baby, and end up more stressed. I go down to four days a week in April in hopes that will wind me down, but I can see it just making me busier in the four days I’m in.
In a risk assessment I did for work this was one of my major factors, work stress, my manager is sympathetic but it goes over his head and as I work in IT other departments seem to be allowed to set up tight deadlines without my manager/director pushing back to help me.
I’ve told my director I need support, I cannot be this stressed whilst pregnant. I’m not even stressed now, I’m just stressed at being stressed. I once read a lady lost her baby as she was stressed at work 😫😫
Sorry guys, I just needed to rant/worry somewhere! I’m in half mind to use more annual leave so I finish work even earlier at this rate.

Prema112 · 10/02/2022 14:56

Hey @beansprout55! So lovely you're feeling lots of movement the pass few weeks. It's so tricky at this stage to know what to do when you feel them less. I would say just to be safe to give the midwife a call and she was she says. I think they'd rather you checked than didn't. How are things going with your partner? X

Starbeach · 10/02/2022 15:03

@beansprout55 I’m like this I spoke with my midwife she told me it was fine to not have a proper pattern for a few weeks but I’d call her just to be on the safe side she won’t mind

Thank you all for the name positivity I really wasnt a 100% but I have found myself calling her Edith now. If it was a boy I wanted to go really old fashioned with Walter. I love the name talk such a big decision. @MsBubbles85 I love the name Julia this was on my shortlist xx

CurryandSnuggle · 10/02/2022 15:07

Thank you @Rolledthedice 🥰

@hellointhere our bodies are amazing aren’t they! Yes to leaking, been happening since I was about 16 weeks, didn’t expect it so early!!

@PeeAche Omg I have itchy nipples too!!! So annoying 😂😫

Prema112 · 10/02/2022 15:09

Any other boy name ideas?? So many beautiful girl names but struggling with boy name

CurryandSnuggle · 10/02/2022 15:09

@MsBubbles85 beautiful scan, congratulations on your baby Julia ❤️

Prema112 · 10/02/2022 15:10

@hellointhere & @MsBubbles85 congrats on your scans!!

MsBubbles85 · 10/02/2022 15:14

@Prema112 Thanks!
We had Victor for a boy - I am Spanish and my husband is English so had to try to find a name easy for both languages.

Olive60 · 10/02/2022 15:46

@Prema112 I love Luca! That would have been the baby's middle name if it was a boy

Olive60 · 10/02/2022 15:49

And Zachary was my choice if my DD was a boy when I had her!

Olive60 · 10/02/2022 15:54

I don't know how to edit on the app to update my comment (or if that's even possible) 😅.... Also love Jesse & Finn for boys too!

Luca, Zachary, Jesse & Finn!

Starbeach · 10/02/2022 16:05

@Prema112Do you like modern traditional or old fashioned names?

Starbeach · 10/02/2022 16:08

Any of you lovely ladies got any good pelvic floor exercise apps/YouTube pages. The nhs one isn’t brilliant and well my little Edith is beating my bladder up and now I’m on Tena lady pads 😭🐳

DaimDillyDoo · 10/02/2022 16:10

Thanks for the well wishes guys.

I also suffer with HG although this pregnancy has definitely been my easiest. I've been on Cyclizine, PromethaZine and anti acid since week 4 with only two hospitalisations this time. I've never had blood in my sick though!

GP seems to think it's a stomach ulcer.

I called the GP receptionist and she said "is this a medical emergency?" And I explained the situation... she went "you've probably eaten beetroot." I said "no. I don't like beetroot and haven't ate since 6pm last night."

She said "you've almost definitely eaten beetroot" what the fuck Confused

Vimto1991 · 10/02/2022 16:21

@DaimDillyDoo what the actual fuck. Is she staring into your dining room at night looking at what you’re eating? 😬

Prema112 · 10/02/2022 16:25

@MsBubbles85 & @Olive60 Thanks! Victor is cute! And I really like Luca, we almost had it as DS1 middle name. Also like Jesse, it may be baby's middle name.
@Starbeach I think my problem is I dont want anything too popular. I like biblical names but they are either super common or too weird sounding. It's taken such a long time for us to have this baby that I'd also like a name with a special meaning. I have 1 biblical name I like but I wonder if it's too old man. It's Solomon. What do people think? It means peace

Prema112 · 10/02/2022 16:26

@DaimDillyDoo She's crazy...!!! That's so weird!!

Prema112 · 10/02/2022 16:27

@Starbeach Oh my word I think I need to get some Tena! I haven't actually leaked but it feels so close so often and I suppose it's only gonna get worse 😬

GrowBabyGrow · 10/02/2022 17:11

Oh gosh @DaimDillyDoo, surely you know better what you've been eating than the GP Receptionist does?! How frustrating!

@Prema112 I really like Samson, and it shortens nicely to Sam if you/ they want to shorten it.

CurryandSnuggle · 10/02/2022 17:11

@Prema112 what about Isaac? Smile

jennixxx · 10/02/2022 18:20

Hi ladies, ive been getting a really tight stomach, and a dull pain in my side, it can go from sharp to dull often though and when the pains happen thats when my stomach tightens, does anyone have a clue what this could be?? Ive got really bad lower backache aswell that goes down my left leg and upper thigh, It gets quite hard to walk normally and i end up basically limping or going really really slow and waddling, Ive tried looking up what it could be but all ive seen is Braxton hicks, but im only 22+3, could this just be early braxton hicks or??? It also sayd could be preterm labor and im literally just ignoring that i dont want to think thats the cause, i hate google lol just makes me worried, i have tried contacting my midwife but no reply yet so just hopping on here to see if any if you ladies have any insight to what this could be???
Sorry for the paragraph!!! xx
