Regarding ears and sinuses - my nose and sinuses are inflamed/blocked. Waking up every morning with a really dry mouth cos I can't breathe through my nose properly. Ears ok so far though.

On names, we have a shortlist of names we both like. His favourite could work as a shortening ofu favourite, so I'm hoping we go for the long version with the short one as a nickname ...

fpeg · 09/02/2022 22:46

@GrowBabyGrow Rowan is a lovely name 💚

AlbatrossSociety · 09/02/2022 22:54

We have a list of boys names and a list of girls names that we made about 2 months ago using an app and I haven't looked at them since! Think we might make a short list for each gender and then decide when baby is born as we are not finding out gender.

I may be biased because one of my best mates is Ruby but I think it's such a lovely name. And also love Rowan and nature style names. I've found our girls name are all kind of naturey but our boys names are a completely different style! Maybe a bridge to cross in the future.

RoseValleyRambles · 09/02/2022 23:08

I think nature names for boys are a bit harder. We certainly haven't found many good ones that aren't a bit OTT for us (bear, hawk, wolf etc), which is a shame as we're quite keen on nature names if it were a girl. Rowan / robin both nice, but beyond that not found many great ones.

hellointhere · 10/02/2022 04:12

My scan was today and all is well! I feel over the moon after. We decided not to find out whether they're a boy or a girl.

Also, anyone else noticed a bit of nipple leaking? I think I saw something yesterday for the first time!
I felt kind of proud, I'm so impressed by my body doing all this stuff it's never done before.

Olive60 · 10/02/2022 06:34

There's a little girl called Rowan at my DDs school. My friend pointed it out in protest that my chosen name is unisex too, albeit just not popular or well known for a girl. I think Blossom is pretty but becoming popular.

I do feel a little apprehensive when I think of someone asking her name and I respond with it. But I do love it. Eliza will be her middle name which I also love and turns out MIL was going to call my other half if he was a girl!

unknownscot · 10/02/2022 07:20

Yes, in Scotland I know a couple of Rowan's but all girls. I haven't heard it for a boy actually. Just shows the difference not too far!

We have a list of girl names we both like but only one boy name which I kind of like but don't love. We can't find many boys names we both love!!

Lostintranslatio · 10/02/2022 07:32

@Olive60 Eliza is a lovely a name 😍😍

PeeAche · 10/02/2022 08:04

@hellointhere congratulations on a wonderful scan. And double congratulations on your leaky nips!

Who da momma? You da momma?

My nipples are still dry as the Sahara. Very itchy tough which is a new experience for me.

Love the name Rowan and I would have assumed a boys name just because of Rowan Keating from Boyzone .... I'm showing my age now.
We really like the name Harrison and have been calling bump this, it's the only name me and DH can agree on 😆
My father in law does so much for us and we wanted to incorporate his name as the middle name but his name is Paul!!
Although he may come out and look nothing like a Harrison and if thats the case then he will be baby 👶

Clueless22 · 10/02/2022 08:21

@hellointhere congratulations on your scan xx

Clueless22 · 10/02/2022 08:22

Just realised it's ronan kearing isn't it ... baby brain!! Rowan Atkinson is who I was thinking off ... still male lol

Clueless22 · 10/02/2022 08:23

Keating not kearing..... its gonna be one of them days ahhhh 😀

PeeAche · 10/02/2022 08:52

I also like the name Harrison @Clueless22 but my DH vetoed it.

I like boys names that end in an "in" or "on" sound!

RoseValleyRambles · 10/02/2022 09:01

Rowan is indeed largely a girls name in Scotland, and a boys name in England. Pronunciation changes too.

DaimDillyDoo · 10/02/2022 09:31

Has anyone been sick and had red lumps of mucus looking blood in their sick? Really struggling with my sickness this morning, now it's like bile with red streaks/lumps in if. Sad

InvisibleDragon · 10/02/2022 09:47

That sounds worrying @DaimDillyDoo - I'd definitely call NHS111 about that. Could well be nothing, but vomiting blood is usually worth getting checked out x

BunBun221 · 10/02/2022 10:03

@DaimDillyDoo I did have flecks of blood when I was suffering badly from sickness early on and it would only happen when I had had a really intense vomiting session or I had an empty stomach and there wasn't really anything to bring up. Apparently when the body struggles vomiting might cause micro tears. I only had flecks though I wouldn't call them streaks- I'd definitely call 111

Vimto1991 · 10/02/2022 10:18

@DaimDillyDoo I once threw up so much and it was just bile/nothing I pulled something in my throat which made me throw up blood. It was specs as @BunBun221 said and my throat was sore for two days after/spitting out blood when it happened. If it’s a large amount get checked out just in case, if your throat hurts you may have just irritated it like I did.

PeeAche · 10/02/2022 10:57

@DaimDillyDoo I had HG for the first 18 weeks and I frequently had blood in my vomit. I suspect it's nothing to worry about but you should just double check it with a medical professional to be safe. I did!

Look after yourself. ❤️

Hi how you ladies going? I’ve had vertigo to add to my HG I was hoping my HG would have gone by now so just doesn’t the last half hour catching up with this thread!

My OH has decided on the name Edith for ours I’m not 100% on the name. He’s from a very large family so all the girls names I like are pretty much already taken. What do you ladies think of the name?

For those looking for cheap maternity clothes I highly recommend sainsburys, their leggings especially.

@PeeAche sorry your boss and colleagues seem to be backward in dealing with your pregnancy. I’m the only woman on my team and on one hand my boss is being a mother hen to the point I’m not allowed for no real reason to do half my job and on the other he said to me I can make the hours up for my scan until I told him otherwise.

@PeeAche and @Olive60 glad I’m not the only one carrying an uncooperative baby 😂 just hope for all our sakes they are more cooperative when they come out 😂🙈

GrowBabyGrow · 10/02/2022 11:36

Thank you for all the positivity on the name Rowan Star All the names people are leaning towards are such lovely ones. @Starbeach I actually really like the name Edith.

Sorry to hear some of you are still struggling with HG Flowers

fpeg · 10/02/2022 11:51

@Starbeach my cousin and I have the same name, I love it and my mum wasn't put off by another family member already having it and I'm glad she wasn't... just for a different perspective on sharing names 😊

Prema112 · 10/02/2022 11:55

@Starbeach Edith is really cute! I do think a child just grows into their name and then you can't imagine them being anything else.

So sorry to hear you're still vomiting @DaimDillyDoo that really sucks 😔

My bra situation is making me want to cry. I have one bra that I can still get on but it's so tight and makes me angry when I have to wear it 😂 Need to go for a bra fitting desperately but have no time EVER!! And no energy to mission to central London 😩 Ok, enough moaning I just have to do it!

Clueless22 · 10/02/2022 12:29

@Starbeach Edith is really lovely and so cute.
