@Meganrobyn I often feel like crying at the thought of having to give my cats a tablet- they're a nightmare! BUT if you can use the opportunity of being pregnant to delegate the little tray duties to someone else. It's not a high risk and I think it's fine to do it but I told my OH that I couldn't when I was pregnant/breastfeeding because of the risk of toxoplasmosis and I advent had to do it since (3yrs). Pregnancy can be tough so good to find the perks!
I'm a single mother so can't give anyone those duties sadly 😭 I just wash my hands really well after cleaning litter tray. Not much else can do!

@Chlox16

Hi ladies,

Has anyone on here had the flu or flu like symptoms during early pregnancy before? I’m only 6wks 2days so a little worried.

Last night getting home from work I suddenly went absolutely freezing and shivering none stop then went all hot and sweaty. Plus had such an achy body all night and day with a horrible cough. Obviously done loads of lateral flows so it’s not covid just wondering if anyones experienced anything similar?

Been taking paracetamol and lots of liquids but I seem to feel much worse at night Sad x

Does sound like covid... I had it before I got my BFP and was bed bound for a week. Could just be a flu though as symptoms sound similar - hard to know for sure in all honesty. Hope you feel better soon x

@girafferafferaffe I've read it's quite normal but it can be a bit scary. I'm quite an anxious person I don't know how I'm going to survive the pregnancy, will worry about everything 😂

@BlueSky57 for me symptom wise it's cramps + sore and heavy breast.

I can't calculate how far along I am because every app gives me a different response 😂 my last period was 15th December so I should be around 4+4 but my cycles are long so the pregnancy is very new, I probably ovulated around January 3rd.

@TotoAnnihiliation how far along are you? The only upside so far for me is that hubby now has to change litter trays 😂

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I'm cramping but no spotting so far.

@LizzeyBenett I'm Ireland as well! Dreadful isn't it. I think I'm going to go for a private early scan at 8 weeks.

I know it was touched upon previously but when is everybody planning to tell family? We are not going to say anything to most until 12 weeks but we are planning to tell our parents on my birthday next month, we hang out way too much for us not to tell them and I am totally a wine lover so it will already be suspicious as to why I don't drink 😂 I will be 8 weeks then. But we will ask them not to tell the extended family yet.

I am so hopeful but also really scared that something may go wrong. I keep testing everyday to see if the line is getting darker which I know I shouldn't but can't help it. I'm going back to do bloods on Tuesday or Wednesday. My first hCG was quite low at 45 so I'm hoping all is well. Still no period so hopefully 🙏🏻

Have a lovely Sunday girls!

girafferafferaffe · 16/01/2022 11:06

I feel enormous! I wasn't small before but my boobs are fecking ridiculous and I am so bloated. I'm struggling to keep up with the exercise as I'm so tired. I also feel like my skin/hair have turned really oily?!

I'm taking dd to a kids birthday party today and I'm just out of things to wear! So I am proper trampy in leggings and a jumper... I can't really afford to buy nice clothes because well.. what's the point right now!

Sleepy86 · 16/01/2022 11:11

I've had a small bleed this morning. Came downstairs with my DD to make her breakfast and felt a gush, ran upstairs to check and there was a small amount of blood in my pants. I've had nothing since except blood mixed in with my urine when I go for a wee. I've not had any cramps or clots, so I'm hoping for the best, but preparing myself just in case. I'm going to call my GP in the morning and see what they say

Hopingforarainbow27 · 16/01/2022 11:27

Not sure if this has been talked about already but is it ok for symptoms to come and go? The day before my bfp I was running to the loo all day (Wednesday) but the last day or two not going as much. I'm thinking about everything because of my miscarriages. Boobs still sore and not sleeping great

Sassy144 · 16/01/2022 11:45

@Peauela I told my parents and siblings yesterday as we got together for my sister's birthday and they all saw straight through me! It did feel nice not to have to hide being tired etc.

@Sleepy86 I'm sorry that must be a worry though a lot of women do have bleeds and it's nothing. I'd call the GP for some reassurance though if you're worried.

TotoAnnihiliation · 16/01/2022 11:52

@Peauela like you, my last period was 15th December. I have short cycles thought and I think I ovulated on 27th December. According to the Ovia app, I am 4+4 and due on 19th September.

I used Ovia during my last pregnancy with DD. DD arrived at 35 weeks, I went in to spontaneous labour and had to have an EMCS. I do wonder how early I'll be booked in for my ELCS.

My hair is also ridiculously oily, it looks like I've dunked my head in a chip fryer, I've also got spots on the back of my neck - I feel so sexy right now.

I googled last night about symptoms coming and going and apparently it's normally depending on a variety of factors. These factors include time if day, hydration, tiredness abs blood sugar levels.

I've had a traumatic pregnancy loss in my first pregnancy and even though I have DD, I don't think I'll ever feel relaxed during pregnancy.

My symptoms today are being irrationally angry and boobs that can probably be seen from space.

bailey21 · 16/01/2022 12:03

Congratulations everyone! So exciting to see everyone joining this thread!!

Has anyone thought about telling work? And when they'll do it? Im really really nervous about it but I do a lot of site work (construction) so Im going to have to have the conversation sooner rather then later! Just so nervous as I'm still so early just over 5weeks

MrsLoz · 16/01/2022 12:18

Tentatively joining the thread. Got a BFP this morning on an internet cheapy, so think I should be due around 21st September.

Although getting cramps like I would for my period so I’m not getting hopes up yet. Going to leave it a few more days and then get a proper test, I’ve not symptoms or anything.

We already have a nearly 4 year old DD, she is going to make the best big sister if this all goes to plan!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 16/01/2022 12:28

Congratulations @MrsLoz how many dpo are you? I'm 21st September as well.

MrsLoz · 16/01/2022 12:42

@Hopingforarainbow27 I’m not sure, I haven’t been tracking ovulation. Just going by last period, my cycles are usually about 29-30 days so relatively standard.

Mostly dreading telling work, I’m part of a very small finance team that is in a niche sector and one colleague has literally just gone on maternity! So my boss is going to be pretty stressed when he finds out Hmm

SkaterChick · 16/01/2022 12:57

@MrsLoz I'm dreading telling my work. A client of ours had a baby recently and came in with her 2 kids so we could meet the baby and we all gushed over how absolutely adorable they both are.
My manager then spent the next 3 days telling everyone not to get any ideas and keep their legs closed 😕 while he said it sarcastically I really didn't find it funny.
I want to hold off till my 12 weeks if possible. I'm going to book the day off for my 12 weeks scan if I make it that far and then as soon as it's done I'm going to make the dude come to my work with me and tell him. I'd far rather tell him in a day I'm not working and not by myself.

He does know I had a self resolving eptopic last year. I told him as I was signed off work for a week and it was on the note. He didn't really say anything to me when I returned to work and hasn't mentioned it to me. So I also think it can't be that much of a surprise when I do tell him...

Goodgoodthings · 16/01/2022 12:59

Hi everyone, hoping I can join you? Had a BFP yesterday and I think the due date will be 22/9. We've been TTC since around Sept but I'm honestly shocked that it's happened this quickly after a long time trying for our first who is now 18 months.

Really hoping for a healthy pregnancy 🌟 and casually awaiting the dreaded sickness to arrive that I had with DD. Any tips are very welcome while I've got chance to get prepared 😅

Sleepy86 · 16/01/2022 13:00

Thanks @Sassy144 it seems to have stopped as quickly as it started thankfully. It started out as a small gush of red blood and I'm now only seeing blood after a wee and it's lessening, so I'm hoping that it's just what was left after the little gush. I was anxious anyway as I had a bleed from a UTI quite early in my last pregnancy and thought I was having a MC then, so this hasn't helped. I'll definitely get a private scan if my local EPU won't scan me, just to put my mind at rest x

He sounds absolutely awful!

Sassy144 · 16/01/2022 15:39

@SkaterChick wow that's awful - 'keep your legs closed'! My boss is not a baby person, and a few of us recently got married or engaged, and she said we better not all get pregnant now..!

20viona · 16/01/2022 15:59

Hi all. Got my BFP on Friday and CB today says 1-2 weeks. It's all very confusing because I miscarried on the 9th December and haven't had a period since. I did OPKs so know I ovulated on the 2nd january. Not a clue when il be due!!

BlueSky57 · 16/01/2022 17:14

I’m sorry to hear about your miscarriage @20viona Flowers I am also unsure when I’ll be due as I only came off the pill in November so have no idea when I ovulated.

I find working out due dates etc very confusing as can’t get my head around the fact you mostly go from your last period date but surely it depends on how long after that you actually ovulated? I know they’ll check dates on scans but I wish I had a bit more idea before then as I’d go for an early scan at 8 weeks if I knew when that actually was.

Ginny216 · 16/01/2022 18:10

Hey everyone. Currently 5 + 1 if I've calculated correctly, due date 17th September. I've got a son who will be 2 in a couple of weeks. Been reading that lots of you have been experienced spotting/ light bleeding. With my 1st pregnancy I bled at 5 weeks, then continued to bleed every 3 weeks after that up until the third trimester! Scary every time but there was never anything wrong and they never found a cause for it. Not had any bleeding this time (yet!) but been experiencing lots of twinges mainly on the left and tiredness, that's about it! Hoping for healthy pregnancies for us all 🤞 does anyone else feel like time is dragging and they just want to speed it up?!

Sassy144 · 16/01/2022 19:52

Hello @Ginny216 thank you that's reassuring, I'm having some spotting at the moment and cramps, trying not to worry.

Glastomummy · 16/01/2022 20:10

@RedIvy18 hey!! I'm with you girl I had a MC around the same time as you in June. So nervous but things do feel more aligned this time round. And yes with the discharge!! Is this normal? X

Chocoholic88 · 16/01/2022 20:23

Very very cautiously joining the thread as got a vfl on Friday at 9DPO and then a much clearer line on Saturday and a positive on a digital CB. Based on ovulation I’m only 3+4 so feeling super stressed about how early I’ve found out and how likely a chemical pregnancy is at this stage. Feeling super tired already and have had cramps on and off since 3dpo with ravenous hunger from 6dpo. Feel like the next few weeks are going to go so painful slowly…any tips for keeping sane?
