Think mine is a combination for that and acid reflux, so glamorous isn't it

EllieJai44 · 25/01/2022 21:13

I've had on/ off nausea, some days are better than others but in all my pregnancies I've never been sick!

I am so anxious about miscarriage after having 3 previous ones! I have another scan next Thursday, we have already seen a heartbeat but I'm so nervous something will have happened by next week! 😬

madeleine85 · 25/01/2022 21:25

@EllieJai44 how many weeks will you be? I have one a week on Friday, which feels like an eternity away. I should be either 9 weeks 6 or 10 weeks 3 then. My last one was at 6-7 weeks and I saw the heartbeat, but obviously nothing since then. Time is standing still! Good luck for yours :)

EllieJai44 · 25/01/2022 21:29

@madeleine85 I will be exactly 8 weeks, I was exactly 6 weeks last one so seeing a heartbeat was a really good sign but when you've seen heartbeats at 6 and 8 week scans and then nothing at 12 week scan it causes major anxiety!

I'm trying to stay positive though, trying haha

TotoAnnihiliation · 25/01/2022 21:30

How did everyone who had scans today get on? I've got one booked for Friday.

I'm struggling to eat, I've barely eaten for the last few days. The only thing I want to eat is chicken burgers and I'm not a big meat eater usually.

I'm really struggling, I've gone back to work and it's so full on! Is anyone else a teacher? I've already told my HT that I can't continue to work the excessive amount of extra hours that I already do.

Mags146 · 25/01/2022 21:39

I got back to work this week and my work is not really busy at the moment but I'm really tired. Today I had 20 mins walk after work, done small shopping and gone to bed at 21:30 as I was falling asleep in front of tv...

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 25/01/2022 21:48

@TotoAnnihiliation I'm a teacher. I haven't told work yet. In bed after parents evening finish at 7 going to collect my toddler from my mums driving 30 mins home settling him bed ready for 6am start

I don't see how I can carry on. I was in at 7.15 this morning and left at 6. There is still not time do everything. It's my first year teaching so everything is still so new, I honestly feel like leaving.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 25/01/2022 21:54

@TotoAnnihiliation I would like to say it gets better. But it doesn't.

Oh no! How do you do it?

madeleine85 · 25/01/2022 21:56

@EllieJai44 fingers crossed for you this time around! I know a few people who this has happened to, so i'm guessing some babies just don't make the transfer to the placenta somehow. It is so stressful just waiting to see. I keep considering paying for an extra scan in between, but I doubt it would pick up anything wrong at this stage as the transfer is unlikely to have happened, so i'm best to wait for 12 weeks. I hate that there is absolutely nothing that we can do but wait it out and treat our bodies well. Says she who is currently baking fruit scones to fulfil her cravings, and is planning on adding a lot of butter :)

OP posts:
EllieJai44 · 25/01/2022 22:02

@madeleine85 you add that butter! Go to town haha
That would make sense as it was at 9 weeks the baby had died which is when the placenta starts, never thought of it that way!

Where is your next scan at? Is it an EPU? Hopefully you'll be past the 10 week mark and then that 12 week one won't be so far away!!

madeleine85 · 25/01/2022 22:26

@EllieJai44 I am a Brit in the US so we get a scan at 6 weeks and 10 weeks at the doctors, then a detailed anatomical one at 12 weeks at the radiologist or whatever they are. At least if things aren't different to how they were last time pre covid. I have a friend here who is one week ahead of me, and she said her doctor had her at 8 weeks, and the 12 week is just a phonecall. I'd lose my mind to not know everything was ok at this early stage! It will be interesting to see how much covid has changed the checkups honestly

Peauela · 26/01/2022 07:06

Oh yes,
I'm definitely paying for private scans! Going for one on Monday and depending on how things go, may do another one in two weeks time. I know not much can be done at this early stage but it would ease my mind knowing everything's good down there!

Im officially 6 weeks today! 🥰

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 26/01/2022 07:20

@TotoAnnihiliation truthfully. With difficulty. I have a DS I returned part time after him 3 days a week. Work days I drop him at nursery at 7.30. Collect 5.30. Get home around 6. Tea bath bed for him by 8. Work 8.30-11.30 ish. Then I only have to do a few hours on a weekend. I wouldn't cope full time.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 26/01/2022 07:22

Anyone else have diarrhoea at 6 weeks? I woke up there with it. Sorry tmi! Maybe it's cos I'm nervous for scan today but I had it yesterday morning too!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 26/01/2022 07:25

@Hopingforarainbow27 I get the runs when I'm nervous

20viona · 26/01/2022 07:33

Why have I taken another CB digi today! Last wed I got 2-3 weeks and Iv done another this morning - second wee of the day as I forgot about the 5.30 one! And got 2-3 again! I had a MC in Dec at 5 weeks so I'm prob extra sensitive but I wish I'd just left it.

Billymay · 26/01/2022 08:51

@20viona I did one this morning expecting to see 3 weeks but saw 2-3… I’m 5 weeks tiday so hoping it shows at the weekend. I got a really really early positive on a pregnancy test so thought maybe I ovulated earlier or just had a lot of hcg but now I’m not sure xxx

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 26/01/2022 10:25

@20viona how many weeks are you?

I did!
MrsS7 · 26/01/2022 10:30

It’s so hard just waiting and hoping isn’t it? And this is coming from someone with a perfectly healthy previous pregnancy! I told myself this time I wouldn’t spend so much time worrying but I’m finding it hard.

However I remember on my Dec 2019 thread someone shared this and we all found it reassuring: datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.php

I’ve started looking at it again whenever I feel anxious and it reminds me that our pregnancies are much more likely to go well than not

chasingtherainbow1 · 26/01/2022 10:38

@MrsS7 I always look at that too. It's a lovely tool. I had 2 previous mc's and it reinforces that my chances of having a successful pregnancy are just the same as everyone else. It's hard to keep that in mind sometimes so I try and check it everyday and like the watch the probability of success getting higher each day

MrsS7 · 26/01/2022 10:42

@chasingtherainbow1 I do the same. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to be going through this early stage having had previous losses. I just try to tell myself that worrying won’t affect the outcome either way and try to stay positive

chasingtherainbow1 · 26/01/2022 10:57

@MrsS7 it's very nerve wracking! But we all don't want to be in that boat so it's an awful time for everyone isn't it. I just want to get passed the first trimester in the hope that after that I would be able to feel a little more confident. Can someone just put me to sleep for the foreseeable 😂
