I've had two miscarriages, one last year and the other the year before. Baby stopped growing at 6 weeks so I'm so anxious about it tomorrow as I've never had good news @PrettyTulip

Hopingforarainbow27 · 25/01/2022 15:41

@PrettyTulip and I also hate the internal scan I find it really uncomfortable because I have a tilted uterus

annlee3817 · 25/01/2022 16:11

@Hopingforarainbow27 I used to put my hands into fists and pop them under my bum for internal scans, had to have them weekly to check my cervix and also had a tilted uterus, consultant said it helped them see more clearly and meant it was a little quicker.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 25/01/2022 16:14

@annlee3817 aw thanks for that! I will try that!!

PrettyTulip · 25/01/2022 16:17

@Hopingforarainbow27 I'm so sorry for your previous miscarriages 😔 it's hard to think positive isn't it. Ruins the pregnancy.

I had a miscarriage last year too. Had some spotting between 6-7 weeks so got referred to EPU where I measured 7w1d with no heartbeat. 😞
I also have a tilted uterus so had to do the clench fist under my bum scenario.
This is why my minor spotting at the moment is scaring me x

Hopingforarainbow27 · 25/01/2022 16:19

@PrettyTulip I'm sorry you've experienced this as well! Do you have a scan booked in or anything?

When you clench your first do you put them below your bum with the thumb facing up if that makes sense? Or flat?

PrettyTulip · 25/01/2022 16:21

@Hopingforarainbow27 the nurse told me to clench them and then put them under me at the bottom of my back/top of my bum so I think it just basically lifts that area up a little

PrettyTulip · 25/01/2022 16:26

@Hopingforarainbow27 and no, no scans yet. How far along are you?

I want to book an early scan for reassurance but I'm also petrified. I wanted to hold out til 8w (next weekend) but feel like I may need one sooner

Hopingforarainbow27 · 25/01/2022 16:29

I think I'm 6 weeks. @PrettyTulip I contemplated cancelling mine and waiting to 8 weeks as well. It's such an anxious time but I knew I was just delaying reality. Whatever happens is out of our control.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 25/01/2022 16:29

@PrettyTulip how many weeks are you?

PrettyTulip · 25/01/2022 17:07

@Hopingforarainbow27 are you having a private scan then or EPU?
I'm 6w2d based on LMP

Hopingforarainbow27 · 25/01/2022 17:10

@PrettyTulip a scan through the epu. They are giving me one every two weeks! Not that it will change anything!

PrettyTulip · 25/01/2022 17:15

@Hopingforarainbow27 that's really good! Wish my area would do that, I don't even get a booking in appt til I'm 9 weeks

SkaterChick · 25/01/2022 17:28

Is anyone on anti sickness meds?
I had to get some Saturday as I hadn't been able to keep anything down for a few days and was getting dehydrated.
It's great that I'm only since once a day if that and I'm just feeling low key nauseated instead of throwing up every 5 mins but it's also making me anxious that my symptoms have 'gone away' 😂
The ooo Dr only gave me 9 days worth so I gotta call my usual gp this week and discuss a plan of action I guess. I don't have a midwife yet (can midwives prescribe things?!) But my referral has been made after my scan at the epu so hopefully soon.

Cake and sweet things still make me really sick though.... Sucks as I'm a pastry chef...

Wondering if anyone can help, I had a scan on Thursday she saw what I’m presuming to be a good sign (she wanted to do an internal but I declines due to previous miscarriages and it made me feel very uncomfortable. Anyway she’s booked me a scan for this Thursday anyway I’ve been spotting pretty much on and off everyday since 7weeks and yesterday it was heavier not enough to fill a pad and no pains or clots, I’m due to be 8weeks tomorrow I’m extremely nervous and obviously trying to forget about everything until Thursday but has anyone has anything similar and been completely fine?

madeleine85 · 25/01/2022 18:26

@SkaterChick last pregnancy I survived on zofran until about week 20. I was a mess. I’d say though I didn’t throw up when dosed up on it, I still felt queasy and had food aversions. I’m assuming you’re the same? I got a baby Doppler so I could hear the heartbeat from around 12 weeks and that helped my anxiety a lot. I hate that you just have to trust there’s something in there growing and all fine! My ocd control freak tendencies cannot cope 🤦‍♀️

@SkaterChick I'm on Stemetil for sickness having suffered in two previous pregnancies. I'm currently 6 + 1 but have been feeling nauseous since 4 weeks really! I'm definitely worse first thing in the morning and around 4.30-6pm. How about you? Wishing you well in your pregnancy.

SkaterChick · 25/01/2022 19:15

@madeleine85 I've managed to make it through today without puking so maybe they needed a couple days to fully kick in? Today was a good day, just some nausea and food aversions.
Yup mine to, I hate the waiting, uncertainty and lack of control.

@turquoise88 I'm on Prochlorperazine at the moment. I don't know if my regular Dr will keep my on that or change. We'll see I guess!

Deffo worse first thing, I assume that's because the meds have worn off over night? And then I'm currently getting a wave hit around 3-6 that stays in the background until I'm asleep!
But before the meds it was 24/7.

madeleine85 · 25/01/2022 19:24

@SkaterChick my doctor had me take my vitamins at bedtime so they weren't being digested first thing in the morning. That helped, and the B6 definitely made an impact for me. I still remember those miserable early morning shower pukes though. It was like an epically bad hangover. This time around I feel worst at night, it is so strange. I've heard you are meant to keep crackers by your bed and eat one before you even sit up so there is a base of something in your stomach. Hope you are feeling better soon! x

SkaterChick · 25/01/2022 19:40

@madeleine85 I might try that. I tend to take mine about 8.30-9am (I start work at 6am) as I would have had my breakfast by then and can handle taking them, plus my regular meds need to be taken in the morning or they trigger my insomnia!
Ill ask my dr about adding b6 to my meds (have to make sure it won't Interact with anything else I take)
I dunno if I can manage that, I can't face food first thing. I have to be awake for a few hours before I can eat haha.

turquoise88 · 25/01/2022 20:04

@madeleine85 I also have a dry biscuit before getting out of bed, which helps a bit. I don't know much about the B6 - is this something you can take on top of anti-sickness meds?

Hopingforarainbow27 · 25/01/2022 20:10

Anyone else have nausea at 6 weeks? I don't know if I'm imagining it? I just got out of the bath there and I feel like my food is sitting in my throat and I couldn't eat a bite. Is that nausea?Lol I know it's a stupid question but I've never had it before

annlee3817 · 25/01/2022 20:15

@Hopingforarainbow27 that's how I feel when I get indigestion, like I'm full up to the back of my throat, reminds me that I need to get some more gaviscon

Hopingforarainbow27 · 25/01/2022 20:18

So nothing to do with pregnancy 🙆🏼‍♀️ @annlee3817

annlee3817 · 25/01/2022 20:25

I don't usually get it, definitely a pregnancy thing for me, something about the change in hormones levels, can't remember now @Hopingforarainbow27
