Yes I was told this even in my first pregnancy in 2019. Won’t meet my midwife till 16 weeks this time which seems so strange!

MrsS7 · 24/01/2022 10:58

Sorry was replying to @cardiffgal22 but it didn’t work 🙄

Whoknew22 · 24/01/2022 10:59

@cardiffgal22 think it’s standard practice everywhere. Home tests are so good these days and false positives are a rarity (especially with the amount we all test haha). So unless there’s any problems you probably won’t get seen until your booking in appointment which is around 8-10 weeks and the dating scan between 10-14 weeks. Xx

Whoknew22 · 24/01/2022 11:00

@MrsS7 16 weeks. That seems so late. Will you see the sonographer for the dating scan before that though?

Billymay · 24/01/2022 11:03

Hi @blessedandstressed congratulations! I’m in a similar boat I have a 6 year old and a nearly 11 month old so I’ve never done the 2 close together before… it’s going to be completely different this time round. Xx

MrsS7 · 24/01/2022 11:03

@Whoknew22 yes I will. Will speak to a midwife over the phone at the 8 week booking appointment but won’t actually meet my designated midwife in person until 16 weeks.

hannknitted · 24/01/2022 11:19

Hello!

Early days but looks like I’ll be joining you all!

Positive test yesterday, I think I’m about 5 weeks, due very end of Sept. Second baby for me - I’ve got a wee boy who is 3 and a half.

If there’s a Facebook group on the go yet, I’d love to join - I joined a group last time round and met some lovely ladies, we eventually moved to WhatsApp and still chat daily four years later, so it’s a really great support.

Hope everyone is keeping well. 😊

Whoknew22 · 24/01/2022 11:21

@MrsS7 that’s so annoying isn’t it? Over the phone just isn’t the same. Just need to get on with it I guess but it is frustrating.

MrsS7 · 24/01/2022 11:26

@Whoknew22 yes it is a bit annoying. Especially as they told me the week that they’d ring, but no more specific time/date, and that it would be a 40 minute call- I work 4 days a week and have a 2 year old so that’s going to be interesting!

110APiccadilly · 24/01/2022 11:27

@cardiffgal22

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend Smile I called the doctors this morning to ask for an appointment to confirm the pregnancy and was told that they don't do this anymore and that I should just register with the midwife, they just rely on home pregnancy tests! Is this standard practice everywhere?
Mine is the same. I'm in Wales, and assume you might be too (though if you're Cardiff you're a different health board to me).
cardiffgal22 · 24/01/2022 11:41

Thank you @Rebeccalin @MrsS7 @Whoknew22 @110APiccadilly Smile makes sense I just wanted to check as I had heard differently from friends in England. As its my first I have no idea what to expect!

Is anyone else really struggling with headaches?

cardiffgal22 · 24/01/2022 11:42

Yes @110APiccadilly I am indeed from Cardiff :) whereabouts are you from in Wales? x

Sassy144 · 24/01/2022 11:42

Ladies, I'm out ❤️ after spotting for a week today things have taken a turn for the worst and sadly it wasn't meant to be for me. Thanks for all the support and I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies xxx

annlee3817 · 24/01/2022 11:51

So sorry @Sassy144 :(

Billymay · 24/01/2022 11:59

Oh @Sassy144 I’m so sorry. I hope you have support around you. Xx

glastomummy · 24/01/2022 12:00

So sorry @Sassy144 i know exactly what you are going through. Take time to grieve and get yourself healthy and back to it when you are ready. I feel much stronger this time round. It didn't take long I hope it doesn't for you either xx

cardiffgal22 · 24/01/2022 12:02

So so sorry @Sassy144 sending love xxx

Cluelessbeetroot · 24/01/2022 12:15

Hope everyone is doing well. I am 5+5 today (first pregnancy, due 22 Sep) and started spotting last night after waking up in the middle of the night with terrible cramps, after a very upset stomach yesterday afternoon.
Is spotting normal around this time? google is conflicting as per usual.
Paranoid about ectopic now, on top of the "normal" pregnancy paranoia.

Sassy144 · 24/01/2022 12:39

Thank you everyone 💔

Shabz22 · 24/01/2022 12:59

@sassy144 I'm so sorry, sending you lots of love and gentle hugs.

@cardiffgal22 I'll be pregnant on my wedding day in June too, around 24 weeks though, but as I'm overweight already I'm hoping I won't be showing too much. Dreading the dress situation though!

We are starting completely from scratch too, not so much as a single babygrow. I know from my previous kids though that most stuff I bought never got used so hopefully I'll remember that when I start buying this time. We're also not going to find out the gender so hopefully that'll stop me buying extra bits too 🤞

Shabz22 · 24/01/2022 13:08

I'm also fairly certain I'll end up giving birth in October. I'm due 28th Sept going off my ovulation date but with both my kids being 12 and 9 days late, I imagine I'll go more than 2 days over 😩

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 24/01/2022 13:23

@Sassy144 I'm
So very sorry

DM1720 · 24/01/2022 13:26

@Sassy144 so sorry to hear this. I’ve been there a couple of times and it’s shit. No words will comfort you. But you will feel better with time xxx

Billymay · 24/01/2022 13:38

@Shabz22 we have the same date. I went 11 days early with my first and then my second they got me in a week early for a induction… our wedding anniversary is the 21st September so I reckon then. Xx

PrettyTulip · 24/01/2022 14:04

Hello all 😊

I'm 6+1 today, and I had a small dot of reddish blood this morning but nothing since. (Makes me panic as this is the same time I started spotting last time before my MC).

Ever since though, I've had nothing but a full, heavy, bloated feeling in my stomach - and lower back ache. Has anyone else experienced this at this time?
Found myself having 6 wees already today but I don't know if that's because I'm panicking in case there is blood!

Xx
