Hi everyone! 5 weeks today and constantly worrying about everything! I had an early scan today as I had been having some aches and cramps on my left side so my GP told me to go to the urgent care centre. I was relieved to see that everything looks normal so far with both sacs and they’ve booked me in for another scan in 2 weeks. I already know the days are going to crawl by!

On symptoms I’ve been really tired and had sore breasts (and also the cramps), the only other thing I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced was sneezing?? It’s definitely not covid as I’ve done lots of tests!

@Shabz22 It is a tricky one. I'd say focus on your health, your body will (within reason) tell you what you need. I think it is hard if you go into this actively trying to lose weight, even higher BMI pregnancies should gain 10-15 lbs. I battle with the thought of gaining, and did with my DD, but that turned to a lot of over exercising and under eating, and ultimately a premie in the NICU which I wouldn't wish on anyone. That is obviously an extreme situation, but I would say when your body tells you that it needs a few lbs or some love during pregnancy, listen to it a wee bit. Sending hugs for a stressful situation. From what i've read you aren't meant to eat for two until the third trimester, and even then it is just an extra 200 or so calories a day, so if you are being healthy now, then keep up the good work.

@monkeyjocks hope the scan goes well, let us know!

@Billymay thanks for the message, i'm doing well. I think we are either 7+2 or 7+6 depending on ovulation or period date. We had a scan middle of last week which was really nice to know that there is a heartbeat. I also have been terrified after stories of MCs after having a healthy child. I spoke to a friend today who had 2 MCs after her first born and she said that there were doubts about the heartbeat both times (one was much later than the other) so that really made me feel better, hoping that helps put some minds at ease a little. This stage is so funny, we are like walking incubators.

Currently very tired though I know weeks 7-9 are the worst, and feeling on/off nausea though not actually being sick. I also have the most random cravings. I MUST HAVE HONEYDEW MELON OR THE WORLD WILL END :). Ahhh pregnancy my old friend.

Can I join you ?
I am currently 5 weeks - it is a HUGE surprise, first pregnancy.
We’re both extremely happy but also completely and utterly clueless, hence all the questions.
When do you call the GP?
What scans do you have?
I’ve seen an early reassurance scan mentioned - is this private?
What is the best place to book your NIPT ? Is it the same as the Harmony test ?
What do you actually do ? Grin

I’m taking folic acid, vit D, iron and omega 3 and trying to eat healthy
No cravings, no spotting, no nausea so far, however did have cramping.
Obviously I’m absolutely terrified of a miscarriage / chem, especially as it was such a surprise, I can’t quite believe is happening.
@Belle2210 Due date 22 Sept here

Belle2210 · 18/01/2022 07:25

@Cluelessbeetroot

Yay! 😂 Congratulations!

Wish I could offer more info on the testing but I too need to research up on those too. One thing to check is that your omega 3 is a pregnancy version for Vitamin A content.

annlee3817 · 18/01/2022 07:38

@Cluelessbeetroot on the NIPT test, I've booked this due to age, so depending on your age you may not need it as you can get combined screening at the hospital, we've booked with utrasound direct for ours. They do offer it on the NHS if your screening results come back at a chance of 1:150 or lower, anything higher than that is deemed a lower risk.

Omega 3 can't have cod liver oil in it and something else, can't remember

Anyway congratulations and to all the other new joiners

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/01/2022 07:46

@Adda20 yes sneezing! I sneezed all weekend but it stopped now! I'm only like 5 weeks

girafferafferaffe · 18/01/2022 07:54

I've got a combat class tonight and I am DREADING IT. So tired !

Cluelessbeetroot · 18/01/2022 08:48

@annlee3817
Thank you! I’m 34 and DP is 47 so we will be booking the private one
Has anyone had the 6 weeks early scan ?

Belle2210 · 18/01/2022 08:58

Bexxe · 18/01/2022 09:03

me me me me!

HI NEW FRIENDS!

I am currently 5+1 (ish) due sometime in September. I have an early scan booked for 2 weeks time!

To those sayign they have cramps, i am also having cramps - not painful as such, more of just an awareness they are there. From what i googled (lethal i know) that is normal aroudn this time, it is your uterus stretching and getting ready for little bubba to fill it ! xx

holdonbaby · 18/01/2022 09:04

Did anyone else wake up like

YAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!! 🎉👏🏼😁💗💙

Shabz22 · 18/01/2022 09:34

@holdonbaby

Did anyone else wake up like

YAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!! 🎉👏🏼😁💗💙

Not today, I woke up late, had to drag the kids out of bed to get to school whilst they kept refusing and getting back in to bed, and questioned why I'm doing this all over again 😂.

No I'm joking (partly), I feel like it slips my mind a lot as I have no symptoms at all yet, then whenever I remember I smile at the thought of all the things I get to experience again like hearing the heartbeat, feeling the wriggles etc ❤️

girafferafferaffe · 18/01/2022 09:41

@Belle2210 I am regretting agreeing to go. I usually do weightlifting at home! I don't have gym class worthy clothes to wear hahaha

Mags146 · 18/01/2022 09:53

No i wake up every day very anxious and still do pregnancy tests to track the line progression. The idea that I once thought was utterly silly, now gives me a bit of hope and reassurance...
I am 4w6d according to my last period, but according to my ovulation is 4w3d 😩 days are going so slooow... I decided to have two htcg blood tests next week and I am very scared 😣😔
On another note, I slept over 10 hrs 😍

MOLWI · 18/01/2022 10:18

I have my first scan tomorrow morning! I'll be 6+6 (I think) and I'm soooo nervous/excited all in one!!

surprised12 · 18/01/2022 10:21

@Watermelon2016

Hopping on here too. 5+3 today. I've had previous MMC, last one finding out at my 12 week scan despite a 'healthy' scan at 7 weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but Previous losses doubled with my age (41) means Ii'll probably lurk low for now...
Ahh sorry to hear about that - I went through exactly the same thing earlier in the year. It's really hard to stay positive but remember that this is a totally different pregnancy.

Wishing you all the luck this time 🌈

Billymay · 18/01/2022 10:32

So today 6 days after my kids and husband tested positive for covid I’ve now tested positive 😩😢

monkeyjocks · 18/01/2022 11:10

Morning ladies! Just got home from my scan at the EPU. Was waiting for over 40 min and almost peed myself as I had to have a full bladder for it. 🤦🏽‍♀️ The baby looked great, it had a heartbeat and everything looked great for this stage in pregnancy. Baby measured 6+2 weeks which was exactly what I was expecting. They couldn't find any reason for the bleeding so they said probably just implatation or an irritation in the cervix. We didn't get any pictures to take home but got lots of reassurance. The midwife said that bleeding in early pregnancy is extremely common but if concerned to always get in touch just in case.
Feeling very positive and hopeful now! Smile

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/01/2022 11:25

@monkeyjocks was your scan not internal? Just wondering because mine at 6 weeks have always been and I hate the internal!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/01/2022 11:25

@monkeyjocks also great news baby is well!

monkeyjocks · 18/01/2022 11:36

@Hopingforarainbow27 thanks!!
They said they were going to try externally first and if they couldn't see properly they would switch to internal. Luckily they were able to see the baby and the heartbeat externally so there was no need to switch. The Dr had a medical student with her and she told him that it helped that I'm very petite and slender, if I were any bigger they might have had to do it internally as it's so early days and also anything under 6 weeks is always internal.

Belle2210 · 18/01/2022 11:39

Anyone else finding they are absolutely STARVING constantly from late morning to early afternoon? Literally just want to eat and eat 🙈. Had cereal, 4 tangerines and 2 bags of low cal crisps while now contemplating an early lunch.

TotoAnnihiliation · 18/01/2022 11:51

I keep getting so out of breath! Why does this happen?

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/01/2022 11:52

@monkeyjocks ok I'm going to ask them can they try external first!

annlee3817 · 18/01/2022 12:05

@Belle2210 starving on some days, but others just trying to eat through the nausea
