Hello 👋 got my positive test this morning. I’ve just messaged Becky to be added to the fb group. Hope you are all keeping well. This is my second baby, had horrendous sickness last time. I don’t know why I am doing this again! Anyone else had hyperemesis in a previous pregnancy?

annlee3817 · 17/01/2022 17:12

We've got two scans before the 12 week one, one is a reassurance scan at eight weeks (this Saturday) as we've booked to have the NIPT test privately at 10 weeks, and would rather know before then what's going on, because if not good then I won't drive over to the next town for the NIPT test. As part of that test they do a quick scan to check you're 10 weeks at least.

I just had the reassurance scan last time, as was younger and less concerned.

I think age is making me anxious this time.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 17/01/2022 17:14

I had a scan last time at 7+2 to be discharged from the ivf clinic

monkeyjocks · 17/01/2022 17:39

@Tor88 that sounds lovely! Wish I was going to Spain at 10 weeks again, also! Grin
Fx you have the same experience I did an have an amazing time! Daffodil

I'll came back for an update after my scan tomorrow.

20viona · 17/01/2022 17:56

I had an abdominal scan at 9+2 with my daughter and got an excellent scan pic so I might do the same this time too. It seems so
Far away though!

surprised12 · 17/01/2022 18:13

@Glitterygreen

Hopping on :)

Still barely anything symptom-wise for me, I am 6 weeks tomorrow. My boobs feel a little bit achy now (when prodded and squished by me 😂) and still getting the odd cramps but that's it really. No nausea at all. Boobs might look a bit fuller but don't know if that's in my head?

Is everyone planning to wait for the 12 week scan, or going early?

I am sort of tempted to have an early scan just in case anything is wrong - I'd really rather not find out in another 6 weeks from now - but equally feeling I should just wait and see how it goes.

I've had one at 7 weeks (last weekend) and have another one booked for 10 weeks - just try resolve my anxiety and break up the time to 12 weeks! Everyone is different though!
Glitterygreen · 17/01/2022 18:20

I just don't know what to do for the best!

I am enjoying these early weeks where I know I'm pregnant but not really feeling it's 'real' yet, if you know what I mean? I like that. A scan makes it all so real and I feel like by 12 weeks I'll be ready for that.

But equally if things aren't as they should be, I dread the thought of finding out at 12 weeks rather than earlier. Both for the emotional and physical impacts.

holdonbaby · 17/01/2022 18:49

Has anyone downloaded any good pregnancy apps? (Preferably free!)

Mags146 · 17/01/2022 19:11

Hi everyone, how do I get added to the Facebook group please?

BlueSky57 · 17/01/2022 19:32

@Goodgoodthings thanks for the advice! I will take a look at the NHS info on being vegetarian whilst pregnant and see if there’s anything more I should do. I know my diet is very healthy overall due to all the fruit and veg but I’d prefer to check incase I am missing something important

I am not too sure what to do about early scans. I think I’m 5+5 but not too sure so don’t want a scan too early if it ends up making me panic even more for no reason

Watermelon2016 · 17/01/2022 19:36

Hopping on here too. 5+3 today. I've had previous MMC, last one finding out at my 12 week scan despite a 'healthy' scan at 7 weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but Previous losses doubled with my age (41) means Ii'll probably lurk low for now...

SkaterChick · 17/01/2022 20:39

@holdonbaby I've bee. Using ovia pregnancy and it seems good so far. I also used ovia fertility to track everything before hand.

This morning I was extra anxious because I hadn't been nauseas or sick over the weekend... Literally the second I got to work it all came back 🤣 typical!

kitkat89 · 17/01/2022 20:46

Hi all! Hope it's ok to join.

Got my BFP last Tuesday so still early days. I think I'm around 4+5 and due around 22nd September?

Have many of you had some spotting this early on? I've had some light brown spotting since Thursday evening, it got heavier over the weekend and has slowed down again today. This is my first pregnancy so I think I'm going to worry over every little thing!

Billymay · 17/01/2022 20:58

Hi all. Congratulations to you all on such a exciting thread, I’m hoping I can join. So I’m 12dpo and I got my first positive at 7dpo 🤷‍♀️ I mean it was a Poundland one so took it with a pinch of salt… I then took one on sat 10dpo and a digital and got another positive, I then done one today but not sure if the line is progressing… I’m wanting to keep testing for my own sanity but what does everyone recommend once a week for a couple of weeks? Pictures attached of my tests in order 7dpo 10dpo and 12dpo. Xx

May I just add the first one at 7dpo was faint in the picture. Xx

madeleine85 · 17/01/2022 21:10

@Billymay congratulations! I’d say you’ve used 4 different tests, so it’s hard to see line growth consistently. But, you are pregnant and that’s what matters! I didn’t see much line growth till about 15dpo then from there to 20 it started darkening a lot. Some people track, others don’t, hormones are meant to double every 48 hours or so, so when comparing tests I’d look vs the one from 2 days ago if that makes sense

@kitkat89 I'm 4+4 and I have brown spotting too and cramps, not sure what to think really but trying to stay positive ❤️

Billymay · 17/01/2022 21:15

Thank you @madeleine85 in the pictures there is 2 first responses. I do have some of those pre mom tests… I’ll start using them to track and thought a digital once a week until I get 3+
This is my 3rd pregnancy and I just feel so worried, I’ve heard about a lot of chemicals and mc and 12 weeks seems ages away for a scan. Congratulations to you, how far are you now? How have you been feeling? Xx

Rolo104 · 17/01/2022 21:20

Hey everyone, 5w1 today! Feeling okay except they are 'muck spreading' near my house and the whole town smells like a rotting corpse. It is making even non-pregnant people throw up. The smell, coupled with having to wear a mask, is pure hell! I have told my work as it can be quite dangerous so might need to avoid certain activities. Also told quite a few friends and my mum.
Oh yes, and my son (12) looked at my phone and saw that I had read an article called 'when to tell your kids you're expecting.' Suffice to say, he has guessed what's going on. He is very excited but we have explained that it's very early days and we may have to start all over again if something goes wrong.

Tor88 · 17/01/2022 21:28

@Watermelon2016 ugh, a MMC is my biggest fear, I'm so sorry for your loss ☹️💔 Can I ask, did you notice anything between 7 and 12 weeks to give you any cause for concern last time? Like a drop in symptoms or anything? Congratulations on this bfp though, crossing everything for you. A friend of a friend just had a completely healthy pregnancy at 45 xxx

Tor88 · 17/01/2022 21:29

@Billymay I remember you from the ttc thread ☺️ yey congratulations, and welcome!!

Billymay · 17/01/2022 21:37

@Tor88 I remember you too 😊 I was on threads since October. How are you and congratulations xxx

Tor88 · 17/01/2022 21:46

@Billymay aw yey ☺️ so happy for you. So far so good with me thanks, I've been feeling incredibly anxious about miscarriage, but had no worrying symptoms. I'm now 6+3 and have been feeling generally more confident since crossing the 6 week mark, but still a long way to go! X

petitlapin1 · 17/01/2022 21:51

@Finnersmum My successful pregnancy was a hyperemesis one all the way from 5 to 38 weeks. Praying I'm in the lucky 20% that don't get it again! (But miss the reassurance a little, with my rose tinted glasses on 7 years later!)

@bailey21 I haven't got the courage up yet to contact the midwife. Last time the paperwork arrived on the day I found out I'd had a MMC which rubbed salt in the wound. I really need to get on it!

7 weeks today and feeling very congested. Not sure if it's pregnancy or s bog-standard cold! (Lat flow neg).
Was trying to hold out to 9 weeks to get a scan but the need to know it's all ok so far (1st MC was blighted ovum, 3rd MMC at 7+5) is great!
Send me no-scan willpower! (It will only reassure me for a few minutes and I could spend that money on a 3d one later...)

Billymay · 17/01/2022 21:51

@Tor88 me too so your not alone. It’s a worrying time and something I haven’t really thought of previously. I had a worrying 20 week scan with my last baby so I’ll always worry about that one but I find myself increasingly anxious about the early days till the first scan. Xxx
