Good morning ladies!

Hope everyone is well :)

Had the shock of my life last week to find out that I am expecting! A little background on me, I am Tina from Liverpool. My last pregnancy was a massive 12 years ago which resulted in my wonderful daughter who is now in high school. We tried for another baby when my daughter was 3 years old and couldn't fall pregnant. After 8 months of trying we went for tests which showed low sperm count and mobility so spent £20k on IVF which proved to be unsuccessful and after 3 rounds I never had a positive test.

Jump forward a few years, after strain on our marriage we sadly went our separate ways as the relationship wasn't working anymore and early 2021 I met my soulmate and best friend.

I have been on the pill but had to come off it due to constant bleeding and had planned to go back to the doctor to discuss another form of contraceptive after christmas and new year. We should have been more careful over the festive period but naively I didn't think I would fall pregnant due to the issues with my ex husband and being under the impression that something must be wrong with me too!

So imagine my surprise a week into 2022, the first month off the pill, my period being late! I stopped at the supermarket on my way to work because I was still convinced there was no way I was pregnant but sure enough 5 seconds after peeing on the stick, a bright blue cross appeared.

very much a shock but very much wanted, I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason and maybe the reason it never happened with my ex is because it wasn't meant to be :)

Due date here of 18th Sept!

Feeling very crampy, which like you have all said is so worrying but also positive as it hopefully means that jellybean is nestling in to his/her new home! Waves of nausea throughout the day and aversions to some foods.

Looking forward to sharing this crazy journey with you all!

Good morning everyone,
Can I please join. I am 7 +3 weeks. I had an early reassurance scan on Friday because I have been bleeding slightly. But now I've seen the heart beating I feel much better. Think I'm due around 2nd September.

Second time mum here, I have a 2 year old daughter. And I am excited to become a mum again xSmile

Hi all, I’m new to this page and now 4+6. But I’ve started spotting brown / pink with some tiny bits of tissue. I had this last time I was pregnant but I’m panicking loads again. Just did a pregnancy test which has progressed to 2-3 weeks on CB but don’t know it that means anything. Just providing solidarity with others going through this. It’s such a stressful waiting game. I will contact GP if it doesn’t stop in the next couple of days. X

Sassy144 · 17/01/2022 08:46

@Seasidegirl11 thank you and sorry you are experiencing the worry too! I just spoke to my EPAU and they said at this early stage (I'm 4+4) just to watch and wait, as long as it's not very heavy and painful it's not cause for concern but if it continues they can scan at week 6.

Chocoholic88 · 17/01/2022 08:46

@Glastomummy @Tor88 - thank you both for your tips and I’m really sorry about your mc @glastomummy - that must be the hardest thing to go through. Fingers crossed we can all have a happy and healthy pregnancy!

This is such a crazy time and I can’t believe how slowly time has passed in the two days since we found. Makes the TWW seems like a breeze 😂. Meditation and journaling is a good shout. I spoke to my acupuncturist yesterday and she was pretty adamant that I need to only do gentle walking and lots of meditation until 12 weeks. I’m normally a very active person so feels very scary to me the idea of doing nothing, but equally want to make sure I’m not doing anything harmful right now.

@DM1720 - welcome & congrats! We sound like we are at the exact same time as I’m 12dpo today. Feel like I’ve had loads of symptoms since finding out, but think it must be mostly psychosomatic

Flibbyjibby · 17/01/2022 08:56

So 5+4 today.

Main symptoms seem to be:
Upset stomach
Cramps when getting up too quickly/ doing sharp movements.
Slight nausea

GP prescribed me some cyclizine as last pregnancy I had hyperemesis. I started taking it a few days ago and whilst nausea was gone, I was absolutely knocked out. Decided today that maybe I should hold off and see if the nausea actually gets worse. Last PG it ramped up at 6 weeks.

Part of me also wants to feel it getting worse as a positive sign that I’m definitely pregnant. I hate how uncertain everything is in the first trimester!!

Has anybody had their 12 week scan date through yet? I was referred last week but can’t remember when I got the letter last time.

Belle2210 · 17/01/2022 09:21

Tip for the ladies with poo struggles 💩 . I alternated taking my pregnancy vitamins with just folic acid tablets by day and take them in the evening (one day folic only and next preg vit). That and some fennel tea with more Lentil/bean type foods seems to have helped hugely....so far anyways 🤞.

5 + 4 here too. Nausea has picked up a bit today after being less yesterday. Feel more sick this morning than the past few. Still coming in waves but longer waves 😷. Not so crampy now but think that was alot to do with bowels than anything, have the shooting pains when getting up fast (round ligament pains?) and ended up in bed at 5pm last night, slept till 9pm, got up and had some soup then back asleep from 10:30pm 🤷‍♀️... Still tired this morning 😴.

Oh has anyone noticed the taste of certain things have changed? I've been noticing that sweet things taste even more sweet and sour things taste even more sour. So strange! Finding what I fancy eating just now is still a whole process 😂.

Tor88 · 17/01/2022 09:22

@Chocoholic88 I'm really surprised to hear the advice re activity! I thought the advice in general is to keep active? That's deffo what I've been doing (/trying to do!). Did she give you any further reasoning?? Interested to know more :) I feel like I need the movement to keep me sane and to keep the habit in later pregnancy. I'm not going wild just a few runs, swims, yoga and Pilates (instructors know the deal)

annlee3817 · 17/01/2022 09:27

Also surprised at that @chocoholic88 I've got a leaflet upstairs from the midwife encouraging me to stay active, with a list of all sorts of different exercises

annlee3817 · 17/01/2022 09:27

Not that I have been 🤣 although I am finally off the crutches 🙌

Congrats to a the new joiners

girafferafferaffe · 17/01/2022 09:28

I'm still lifting weights albeit not every day like I used to (I am so tired!)

I'm not a small person and I really do need something to do for my mental health. I'm worried I'm going to get huge again like I did last time.

Seasidegirl11 · 17/01/2022 09:35

@Sassy144 fingers crossed for you. Unfortunately mine is getting heavier with mild cramping so not looking good. I def feel different today.

Tor88 · 17/01/2022 09:35

@girafferafferaffe I'm also worried about putting on excess weight, I have done already! Appetite is off the chart and energy for movement and proper cooking is minimal 😬 it's tough for sure!

Havasham · 17/01/2022 09:50

Morning ladies, haven't posted yet but been lurking!

I'm 4+5 and have had strong lines since finding out a week ago today. Have been daily testing with good progression but didn't test yesterday. This morning the line is fainter and now I'm panicking wishing I'd have put down the tests! Tried with two cheapies using FMU and SMU with the second being fainter than the first. Any words of wisdom? I can't decide wether to go out and get an FRER or just put down the tests entirely... we'd planned to tell some close family and friends this weekend and now I'm feeling a bit silly about it all. I have one CB weeks digital left but I daren't use it! Confused

Chocoholic88 · 17/01/2022 09:52

I have already asked her as my understanding was moderate exercise was OK. She might be saying this because we’ve been trying for a while so perhaps is being overly cautious. I’ll let you all know.

I’ve had some weird stabbing pains in my uterus this morning which have been different from the pinching / cramps I’ve had so far so now worried again 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. Is it normal to have a lot of cramps so early on? Is it still implantation? I was thinking how being at work this week would keep my mind busy, but I’m just sitting here and noticing every twinge. This is going to be a long week 😑

I think there's just a lot going on in there so it's normal to feel crampy etc!

I have too and I feel so massive! I was working on losing some and then Xmas happened, then I found out I'm pregnant and I'm just starving now! It's so hard trying to curb it

annlee3817 · 17/01/2022 10:23

I put on four stone last time 😬I did lose it all, but I fear it will be harder to lose it now I'm 40, I was only able to be active until 21 weeks last time as in going to the gym, then the consultant put a stop to it. I also definitely ate for two, which I want to avoid this time.

Shabz22 · 17/01/2022 10:26

Hello, hope its OK for me to join. I got my BFP yesterday, completely out of the blue and really unexpected this month! I'm only 12dpo today so still early and I already know this is going to drag now 😂. Both of my other children were late too, 12 days and 9 days past their due date so I'll likely go over in to October!

So pleased to be here with you all!

DM1720 · 17/01/2022 10:53

@Shabz22 and @Chocoholic88 we’re all on the same timeline! 12dpo! I’m still spotting a teeny tiny amount but it’s definitely there. I am slightly worried I must say! I am also getting twinges and aches in my lower abdomen but I don’t think that’s anything to worry about. That’s just everything moving around and stretching out. I wish I could be more excited but I just can’t let myself be let down again!
That’s good to know re the exercise! I actually only just took back up running and did a run on Wednesday. I’m def gonna go easy again and just walk for the foreseeable future! Hoping things settle soon!

Whoknew22 · 17/01/2022 11:10

I thought exercise was totally fine, as long as you’ve been doing it before pregnancy. I thought the general advice was that your heart rate doesn’t get too high and you can hold a conversation.

I’ve just done a pregnancy workout from YouTube and enjoyed it. Just lunges and stretches really. They have loads of different ones if anyone is interested and no equipment needed. I’ve also been walking and going for really light runs. Determined not to get lazy like I did last time as I really struggled to bounce back with the tiredness/having a new born. Did lose the weight but wanted to lose some more before getting pregnant again but it wasn’t to be so want to try my hardest not to gain as much this time.

Like everyone else my hunger is off the charts. If I don’t eat I feel sick. Viscous cycle. Hopefully it levels off. I felt better around 14 weeks last time.

annlee3817 · 17/01/2022 11:14

Granted, it looks like it was produced in the 80's but it helps, just the key is to listen to your body, if you're struggling dial it back, and watch the heart rate

@annlee3817 that is so useful thank you!

@Whoknew22 I think I'm similar to you as I wanted to lose a bit more weight before pregnant! I'm determined to try to keep relitavly fit and don't want to be lazy, esp because wfh!

Thanks for the YouTube recommendations I'll have a look later Smile

Shabz22 · 17/01/2022 11:29

Does anyone know much about actively losing weight whilst pregnant? Last time I was pregnant (last May/June) I mentioned it to the gp and said yes absolutely fine, but then I had a MC before I saw a midwife for the first time. Everything I see online says it's dangerous, but I'm really over weight and I'd ideally like to be as healthy as possible towards the late stages of pregnancy and for labour too. Not to mention we're getting married in June and I'd love to lose a few lbs for that. I'm not talking anything drastic, my diet it poor anyway so by making better choices I'm sure I'd naturally lose weight but is this OK?

holdonbaby · 17/01/2022 11:31

@annlee3817 I just read your other post, I'm so similar to you too and definitely need to not eat for 2 like last time- I started off a size 8-10 and I know weight goes on anyway but I gained LOADS and ended up a 16 after baby born.
