@BabyBorn

Hi all, can I join you? I am on baby number 3 and this was a surprise pregnancy. I’m due first week in July. Be nice to chat on this thread with mums that are pregnant as none of my friends are! Hope you are all doing well! X
Hello!

Due first week of July too, baby number 1 for us xxx

annie1994 · 07/01/2022 20:14

@emmatake2 yes I’m always like this every evening!! So uncomfortable that I just want to lie down in bed 😂

BabyBorn · 07/01/2022 20:21

@mozzer12 Hiya! Exciting at being your first! Will you be finding out the sex?

mozzer12 · 07/01/2022 20:56

@BabyBorn we won't be no 😁 husband wants to but I've always wanted to keep it a surprise so I could find out at the birth! Can see why people want to though, unisex shopping is interesting (we're just looking more than anything atm) and it is still tempting!!
Did you find out with your other 2? Are you going to find out with this baby? X

mozzer12 · 07/01/2022 21:07

Question to everyone - has anyone started buying any little bits yet? Xx

journeytomum · 07/01/2022 21:09

@emmatake2

I have just turned 11 weeks and by evening my stomach is so bloated I feel like if you could pop a pin in it, it would burst & deflate. It's so uncomfortable. Anyone else experiencing this?
Me too, the evenings are really uncomfy and I tend to lose my appetite but force myself to eat. Totally fine by the morning though. I don't think the vitamins / iron is helping with digestion though so need to speak to midwife about this!
Mattieandmummy · 07/01/2022 21:20

@AppleTree16

The Tommy's website says the pool temperature shouldn't exceed 32 degrees so you might want to be a little careful.

Mattieandmummy · 07/01/2022 21:34

I have a due date question, can anyone explain this to me - I should get as it's my second but it just doesn't seem right.... So here we go:

-Date of last period: 12th October
-Cycle length: 28 days
-NHS due date calculator says 22nd July
-12 week scan at 11 weeks 1 day, baby measures 11 weeks 5 days so 4 days ahead

  • Due date moved to 15th July

But there is more than 4 days between 22nd and 15th July - why is my new date date the 15th? Does anyone know? I'm having an elective csection and want to make sure little bump can stay in for as long as possible hence the concern they will be whipped out too early.

shell4890 · 07/01/2022 21:47

Hi :)

Are you sure NHS calculator said 22nd? My dates/cycle are the same as yours and I’m due July 19th, which would work with your 4 days difference?

I don’t think a few days will make too much difference, but you could always discuss any concerns when they come to book you in? Does it make sense that you could be a little earlier than your last period would suggest? I know I was away 2 weeks after mine so I’m definitely due 19th at the earliest!

Mattieandmummy · 07/01/2022 21:58

Oh now I feel like such an idiot - you're completely right, how did I get that wrong! Thanks for spotting that.

I was taking my temperature whilst trying ttc so I'm fairly confident of my ovulation date but given the dates cock up it does make me wonder! Such a numpty!

Mattieandmummy · 07/01/2022 22:01

Thank God I didn't actually ring my midwife to check, she would have thought I was a right idiot.

Coco9910 · 07/01/2022 22:10

@emmatake2 I get so bloated too in the evenings. I tell people that me, myself, I don’t feel bloated, but my stomach is like stretching to max capacity and the skin feels tight. So strange 😂

@mozzer12 I’m waiting until my 12 week scan before I buy anything, but I did buy some baby grows when I went to New York recently, just as a nice memory. So many baby events on at the minute too!

BabyBorn · 07/01/2022 22:15

@mozzer12 just noticed you are 15 weeks tomorrow like me!
Yes, I want to find out, husband doesn’t. I found out with my two girls yes. I felt for me it was important so I could start a bond with the girls throughout my pregnancy. I don’t like surprises either! 😂😂
I haven’t bought a thing as I usually wait until after my 20 week scan. Mines 18th of Feb, when is yours?

missv556 · 08/01/2022 05:42

@mozzer12 I brought 2 packs of baby grows just after Christmas and my mum got me some baby shampoo and stuff like that a few days ago. Nothing major cos I was scared as I hadn't had my 12 week scan at that point. But now I have, I guess I can start seriously looking to buy. The big purchases like pushchair etc I won't get for a while because it'll take up space and I will be moving home before my alien gets here. Possibly after my 20 week scan for the bigger items

missv556 · 08/01/2022 06:28

Has anyone done/plan on doing the big social media announcement? I'm gonna announce on Facebook after my test results come back, all being well. Wondering if its too early still or if its just straight up extra 😂

WotsitMum · 08/01/2022 08:02

@mozzer12 ive got alot still from my first, the only thing is i gave away all the newborn and 0-3 clothes from my first as he was a hard newborn and i was adamant i wasant going to have annother, i gave away some 3-6 but still have a big recycling bag so just need to go through it to see what im short of, so really all i need to buy is newborn and 0-3 and a little of 3-6, athough i may need to buy a bit of seasonal clothing as my first was a winter baby and this is a summer baby! my sister gave me a born in 2022 babygrow the other day and i ordered a few babygrows and vests from matalan last night as they have a baby event on and i was buying for my 14 month olds next size up. I need to get a double pushchair as my LO will be 20 months when baby is here, i think im going to get the cossato wow xl and a bath seat as i gave that away too! Oo and i need to get a new hand pump as mine broke the week i stopped breastfeeding with my LO but the double electric is still intact so will probably just buy new parts for it

WotsitMum · 08/01/2022 08:04

@mozzer12 i think ill be buying the pushchair may time unless an amazing offer comes on

WotsitMum · 08/01/2022 08:18

@missv556 i did with my first at 16 weeks after we found out we were having a boy, we posted a video of everyone biting into their gender reveal cupcakes, by that point tho all our friends and family close to us knew so really it was just an announcement to old friends and announcing were having a boy. This time ive been slow at telling people, i think its because with my first i told most people on facetime as we were in lockdown or i just rocked up to meet them for a walk or a coffie when we were finally allowed with a bump that explained itself😂 i quite like having my little secret. We wount be having a 16 week private scan this time so i imagine i will announce on facebook once all close family and friends know

VJiggins · 08/01/2022 09:13

Hi all, I'm due 15th July with my first. I also want to start buying stuff and thinking about what I need for hospital bag. I like to be organised but feel it's too early.

Ckhw · 08/01/2022 09:19

I love seeing all these little bumps!! Can't wait for mine. Have my 12 week scan on Monday, a bit nervous as I've had a tiny bit of spotting yesterday and today but doctor said it should be fine.

nadgersbadgers · 08/01/2022 09:35

Morning!

13 weeks tomorrow and we still haven't told a soul 😂

purpleskyssssss · 08/01/2022 10:02

@Mattieandmummy I was also tracking my ovulation and temp so I know when I ovulated and when I DTD and I was also put 4 days ahead - I thought to be due around the 9th July - but my 12 week scan put me due at 5th July.

purpleskyssssss · 08/01/2022 10:03

@missv556 I have announced now to everyone me and OH was good excited to keep it hush, also I just look like I've put a stone on so Atleast it gives so explanation to that 🤣

missv556 · 08/01/2022 10:18

@nadgersbadgers are we due date twins? I'm 13 weeks tomorrow too, due 17 July.

I've told my closest family and friends as soon as the pee touched the stick pretty much lol and my dad has blabbed to a fair few of my uncles/cousins at this point despite saying he wouldn't. Not mad, it's his first grandchild so he's just excited bless him. Think most of my extended family know now tbh but still have some people I know that I haven't told so Facebook seems easiest way to hit them all in one go

CaptainCarp · 08/01/2022 10:44

@missv556 great photo glad baby was cooperative!

We are keeping the sex a surprise as this may be my only 1 (have SDC) & I told DP he couldn't know 😂 he did say he was fine with it as he found out with SDC.

I've actually bought a pram/travel system but only because it was from a colleague so I know it won't have been in an accident & it was just over & £300 for something when new is nearly £1K!
Also bought a few baby grows / sleep suits which have been in the sales.
I just bought some maternity trousers & dresses for work last night as if i have to stop wfh end of Jan then I'm not sure much will fit.
