@namechangeanonymous I'm definitely not glowing. I'm fat all over and fed up already.

ChinChilly · 03/02/2022 08:16

Glad I'm not the only one waiting for this second trimester glow! I also just feel fat and uncomfortable. I look like i haven't spelt for a year 🤣 although my nails are pretty good atm but thats about it

ShellUK09 · 03/02/2022 08:25

No I'm not glowing either, more like pale and glazed tired eyes due to disturbed sleep most nights! Although my partner's mum said I looked well the other day, but think that's because when I last seen her I was in full sickness mode, that has thankfully passed now.

DayToNight · 03/02/2022 08:44

@WotsitMum joining you with Covid. I'm joining you in the Covid pregnant club. Feel awful! Hope you're doing ok

WotsitMum · 03/02/2022 09:09

@DayToNight what symptoms are you having?

DayToNight · 03/02/2022 09:38

@WotsitMum just like a bad cold - but can't sleep due to being blocked up. Apparently also the inability to type a sentence. How about you?

WotsitMum · 03/02/2022 09:53

@DayToNight hopefuly your symptoms ease for you soon! Ive got a cough, a very bad headache thats stinging my eyes, feeling hot and cold, wacked out of energy, achey and feeling sick. Still funcional out of no choice of having to look after my 15 month old, i went to bed at half 7 last night. 15 month old is testing negative on lft but has a cough so ive ordered a pcr test for him, he is full of beans this morning happily playing whist i lay on the sofa which is good

DayToNight · 03/02/2022 09:57

@WotsitMum I hope you get better soon. My 3 year old is neg too, very full of beans - managing to distract by getting him to practice doing up buttons on a shirt.

Effram · 03/02/2022 10:27

Aww @DayToNight and @WotsitMum I am on the last day of my isolation so joining the club! I felt SOOO poorly last week, the same thing a headache stinging my eyes, my chest and throat were sort of burny if I coughed then just a terrible cold.

My midwives said to rest as much as is possible with two toddlers (lol), drink loads of fluids, warm if possible (better for hydrating apparently), keep dosed up on paracetamol to keep temp down. Go to mat unit/a&e if any bleeding. I'm a bit further along I think as I'm 19+3 now, they said to start monitoring movements to see if a pattern so I could notice if it changed, but I've only really started to see a pattern in last few days tbh.

I'm finally feeling better now, just exhausted still, but it was the poorliest I have been in years. I'm glad in some ways that we should be 'safe' for a bit now. Neither of my kids got it, but my husband had it at Christmas and none of the rest of us got it then so it does seem an unpredictable beast!

I have my 20 week scan on Saturday and I'm glad as hopefully that will give me some reassurance the baby wasn't affected!

WotsitMum · 03/02/2022 10:32

@Effram i havent felt any movements yet, i have a front placenta so was told i will feel them later. Im thinking of booking a private scan once im out of isolation to check baby is okay in there still, my 20 week scan isant untill 23rd feb

MrsCtobe91 · 03/02/2022 10:47

Hi all. I had covid last week, it was mostly a headache, tiredness, stuffy nose and a groggy throat and what seemed to help me was honey and lemon in hot water. It was really soothing and helped me feel better, plus it tasted good, in fact i still have it now lol. Anyway just thought some of you might like to try it :)

Effram · 03/02/2022 11:03

@WotsitMum That is completely normal, if they'd said it even a week ago I was feeling only occasional flutters, its so recently and suddenly changed to patterns!

I am sure baby is completely fine. only 3 weeks until 23rd but if it helps you feel calmer the scan will help too!

DrPrincessFluffyToYou · 03/02/2022 13:55

In case anyone was interested, I found this guidance from the royal college of obs /gynae:
www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/guidelines/2020-07-10-guidance-for-antenatal-and-postnatal.pdf

On page 11 it states that women do not need to be seen in person until 28 weeks Sad. The guidance was written in 2020, so I suspect it was all covid panic that just hasn't been updated now we know the risks / the risks are lower. I am sad these haven't been updated, and wonder how many women are getting substandard care under the guise of 'covid safety'.

namechangeanonymous · 03/02/2022 15:15

Would anybody be interested in another Facebook group? I don't seem to be able to get into the current one.

WotsitMum · 03/02/2022 15:22

@namechangeanonymous you may need to cancel your request and request again, that worked for me!

namechangeanonymous · 03/02/2022 15:30

Ahh wotsitmum
Would there be anyway you could inbox me the link? I know its somewhere on here but there's 26 pages to find it 😄

Anon120 · 03/02/2022 18:01

MrsKirb · 04/02/2022 07:58

Has anyone started thinking about a baby shower yet?

NamelessBaby1 · 04/02/2022 08:44

@MrsKirb I'm not one for a fuss and whatnot so won't be having one. Really need to start making a list of things we need to get though!

paintfairy · 04/02/2022 08:51

@NamelessBaby1 same. In fact I can't think of anything worse! 🤣
