@WotsitMum Boohoo have a range of maternity dresses for occasions & a lot of them are adjustable to grow with your bump 😊 I bought one the other day as I have a wedding coming up soon.

Mattieandmummy · 31/01/2022 05:37

I bought a dress from Seraphine for my brother's wedding whilst pregnant with my first. It doubled as a dress you could breast feed in just in case she was early.

Effram · 31/01/2022 09:36

I really love Seraphine clothes esp for occasion wear! I also use bellesandbabes to hire a maternity coat but they do maternity clothes too
, and I used it for nursing wear when my second was tiny to try some bits out before I bought (I found I definitely had a preference of what worked for me and was comfortable!) and he still has their capsule hire stuff to pad out his wardrobe which otherwise is his brother's handledowns!

I am often pleasantly surprised at the ASOS maternity offerings too.

Congrats to everyone who has found out what they are having, so excited! My 20 week scan is on Saturday, I can't believe it's come round so quickly...

Does anybody else have days where there is no filling them? I've pretty much eaten/snacked all day but I feel like I've not eaten. Other days I'm not really any hungrier than normal.

Yup. And although I know I’d feel more Filled up if I ate some protein or veg etc instead I’ve eaten half a pack of chocolate digestives and 3/4 batternburg cake.

Though in my defence… they were yum Grin

For those of us that know the genders now, has anyone started thinking of names? There were 2 names me and my partner had shortlisted from the get go but both my mum and sister HATE them lol my sister downright begged me not to pick my favourite because it's too ghetto rofl. I know its no one's choice but ours at the end of the day but if they incite such a reaction then I'm more than willing to look at other names. But if I can't find any other then it'll have to be the hated ones and they better just get over it 😂

Lianna93 · 31/01/2022 16:28

@missv556 I've had my names picked since I was in high school 🙈😂 But none of them 'fit'. However, we do have her name picked out. It's very 'feminine' but it can be shorted to something gender neutral that is also Celtic 😁 & we're in absolute love with her name 🥰 But for now we're still calling her by her bump name because I'm worried we'll overuse it & then come to hate it 😭😂

namechangeanonymous · 31/01/2022 17:05

I'd love to know your baby names (if comfortable sharing!)

Mads96 · 31/01/2022 17:18

Struggling to agree on baby names with my partner! I love Teddie, Freddie and Greyson and he doesn't like any of them 😭

missv556 · 31/01/2022 17:37

Malakai (would call kai for short) and Xavier were my 2 names. Also maybe Noah.

Coco9910 · 31/01/2022 18:08

@Mads96 @missv556 I love those names!!

@missv556 is that the one your sister said she hates? It’s a really nice name!

Me and my partner can’t agree on any!! Especially boy names, so I don’t think we will know their name until they’re born 😂

SamanthaVimes · 31/01/2022 18:14

@missv556 that’s exactly why we didn’t share names with anyone before DD arrived, it was hard enough finding a name me and DH agreed on, never mind everyone else!

We don’t know the gender yet but like Beatrix for a girl, we’ve got no idea on boy names but we’ll find out in a few weeks if we need to think about them.

ChinChilly · 31/01/2022 18:41

We have our gender scan on Friday so I guess we will think about names then, OH has a boys name he had mentioned but I'm not 100% sold on it! I worked in childcare for years before I had a career change and that makes finding names even harder!

namechangeanonymous · 31/01/2022 18:51

We really like at the moment Logan (first name) Teddy (middle name) or Xavier (middle name) for a boy and Arabella Matilda for a girl.

Hopefully baby will play ball on Friday and let us find out who we're expecting!

Lianna93 · 31/01/2022 19:14

@ChinChilly I currently work with kids & definitely know this feeling! 😂

ChinChilly · 31/01/2022 20:07

@Lianna93 I haven't worked in childcare for over 5 years and some names still haunt me 🤣🤣

Mattieandmummy · 31/01/2022 21:01

My DD is a Matilda, gets my vote 😉

Mattieandmummy · 31/01/2022 21:02

No idea for this one however, we dislike each others suggestions so far

Lianna93 · 31/01/2022 21:47

@ChinChilly I had two names that I absolutely adored & always wanted to use if I ever had a boy - both names got ruined for me 😂

missv556 · 01/02/2022 06:44

@namechangeanonymous ooh another Xavier, good name lol

@Coco9910 yeah she hates Malakai. She thinks it's really ghetto lol my son will be biracial (I'm black, his father white) so she just doesn't want him to have a name that he'll be judged negatively for/stereotyped. I can understand her concerns but I've kinda fallen in love with it and dad likes it too. I've never met anyone with the name so it's quite unique which I like as well

missv556 · 01/02/2022 06:47

Just googled the meaning of Malakai. Its Hebrew for my angel 😍 it's just perfect

namechangeanonymous · 01/02/2022 06:58

@missv556
A friend of mine has a son called malachi and he's a fab little boy. If you like it go for it x

SunStruck · 01/02/2022 09:36

@missv556 I love your names! ❤️ especially if he's going to be a mix anyway, it's weirder if someone pure British white would call their kid josè for instance haha. I mean of course you can but I don't know I think it's good if it links to something 🤣🤣

We have a nightmare with names, we are having a second boy and the name we both really like (Sebastian) will probably be taken by my best friend (she is giving birth next month). She didn't know this was our favorite name, and she told me this is the only name her and her DH agreed on so far 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

Another name we both like is Alfie but I'm a bit unsure as it's quite divisive... some people really hate it. I know this shouldn't matter but I don't want to give our boy a name people dislike? Ladies be honest what do you think of Alfie? Is it too babyish when he grows up? Our first is Leo (not shortened for anything, it's leo in the passport) which we think is punchy and we like names you can shorten. I know Sebastian will be Seb but at least that goes with Leo 🤣

Alfie not shortened for anything, what do you reckon?

A name my DH loves is Edward but I don't went it to be Ed or Eddie 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ so common. Could call him Teddy but is this also too babyish?

Argh !!!

Effram · 01/02/2022 10:02

I really like Teddy, and he could be Ted as he gets older or even back to Edward!

I do like Alfie but I always tend to the longer version of a name even if we don't ever use it just so there are extra options haha!

Our names are set, I think. I have been secretly hoping for a girl as I have 2 boys, but now I've realised I'll be really sad if I don't get to use my boy's name so it's a win win!

I don't tell anyone on my side our names just because I know reactions can be upsetting, but people don't show them when they are attached to a baby so I like to wait until the baby is here! My husband has told his family though and they are all pro. Just hope we don't change our minds!

Mattieandmummy · 01/02/2022 10:03

I think you just have to go with the name you like, there will always be someone who doesn't like it (whether they tell you or not).
