I've tried my best to eat more healthy, I know it's really important but I've been off so many different things! I think it's just surviving especially earlier on, it's easier now but those first 12 weeks I ate terribly because if I didn't eat things I fancied (chips and salt and vinegar crisps) I just wouldn't have eaten.
Luckily I wasn't too bad and didn't actually vomit once, just felt really nauseous most of the time.
We're trying to do no takeaways but already caved this week 😂

Lianna93 · 26/01/2022 22:34

@DrPrincessFluffyToYou Yeah that's exactly what I'm on.
Felt hellish last week, genuinely thought it was side effects of the medicine but doctor reckons I had Norovirus. Feel absolutely fine now with no side effects from the medicine - so she must have been right 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I'm exactly the same, though it'd be like magic at 12 weeks. My midwife said it's typically between 16 & 20 weeks it calms down 😭😂😂

DrPrincessFluffyToYou · 26/01/2022 22:35

@MrsKirb I'm still on the chips and salt and vinegar crisps Blush I normally avoid omega 6 if at all possible, so this is far worse than my usual diet! I just haven't been able to eat any meat / fish really since I got pregnant.

Probably not unrelatedly, my skin has also been awful during this pregnancy. All in all, I am not so far experiencing the fabled pregnancy 'glow' Grin

Effram · 27/01/2022 10:25

My friend had HG in both pregnancies and one of the things she was told was not to worry about what she ate - just to make sure she was taking in calories, even if that was just crisps and chips. Your baby will take what it needs from you, and you don't need to be beating yourself up on top of feeling like absolute poop!

Sending lots of love to those still struggling.

@Coco9910 the only important one to take post 12 weeks is vitamin d, you can take a multi vitamin too if you like but I just get the boots own brand ones, they are teeny tiny tablets so much easier to swallow and def no nausea!

Lots of love @Capricorn8990 such a hard time but glad you're creating these unforgettable moments! enjoy your time off x

Hope3821 · 27/01/2022 12:06

@Effram It's great to hear from an experienced mum! I had a cream egg yesterday and felt so guilty for having it! We're so bombarded with what not to eat it really is hard not to feel bad. I also feel bad the days I miss my pelvic floor and core exercises. But we can only do what we can do.

I hope those suffering HG start feeling better soon, it must be very tiring.

I'm actually at the opposite end, and because my mc last year I'm so panicked that everything has 'stopped'. I look a bit podgy (back to my pandemic weight) but no obvs bump for me, feeling OK but for some reason I don't want chicken. It's hard not to panic because it feels like nothing is happening now, I'm only 15w so I guess its just this waiting game now. 5 more weeks till the next scan!

Meeting my homebirth midwife tomorrow and so excited because she is going to really help. I've been put in for a glucose test because I turn 39 half way through, she was like what?! they're overreacting and said they shouldn't be doing it unless your 41yo, and is going to get my appointment cancelled. So happy to be with her.

DrPrincessFluffyToYou · 27/01/2022 13:07

@Lianna93 I had noro at 5 weeks and genuinely thought I was dying! Ended up needing fluids in hospital as I couldn’t even keep water down. Thankfully only lasted 48 hours though! Maybe I’ll have to give the cyclizine a go…only problem is it makes me so sleepy (had it post op in the past)

@Effram thank you for validating my chip and crisp diet Grin

SunStruck · 27/01/2022 13:08

Hi ladies! I am also still feeling nauseous (usually morning and evenings), but so much better than first trimester! I'm still able to hide the bump but it's definitely big in the evenings - I am 16 weeks now and waiting for the 20 week scan before I tell work, so hopefully I can hide it for a bit longer 🤣

When are you telling work (or have you told them already?

SunStruck · 27/01/2022 13:09

Not sure why I can't add a bump pic, it says you got no pics to add (not sure why it doesn't connect with my photo album as it usually does?!)

WotsitMum · 27/01/2022 13:27

@SunStruck ive told my department manager and he said he wilk tell the GM before i announce it to anyone else then ive not seen him since as i only work 2 days a week and hes been taking alot of holiday. The GM is new and has suffered child loss and i dont feel comftable as such to tell him im pregnant, thats why my department manager said he will tell him in his meeting later that day but the GM hasant said anything to indicate he knows and i dont know if my manager remembered to tell him! Im hoping he will be in friday as im only just fitting in my work clothes now and eger to announce on social media but i have work colleges on there including a few of the other department managers as ive been with the company a few years. I also only went back to work last may from having my first!

WotsitMum · 27/01/2022 13:29

I think/hope im still hiding my bump! Theres defently a bump there when im wearing tight clothes, i tend to notice more in the evening

WotsitMum · 27/01/2022 13:45

Thank you @Effram 💕 xx

namechangeanonymous · 27/01/2022 16:36

Chloe changing bag you say @Elsols93 ... photo needed!!
Also missing the promised pregnancy glow, I want to be that glowy pregnant lady I have heard rumours of.
Would love to join the Facebook group 😞 somehow I never manage to get the link to work.

Mads96 · 27/01/2022 17:32

Didn't get a bump with my first till past 6 months and even then it was really small. Showing a lot earlier this time and have a little bump 😊

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today and heard the heartbeat 😍 thinking baby is a girl now as it was fast! Finding out tomorrow!

Pretty sure I'm feeling baby move now every now and then too 💗 Making it feel much more real

namechangeanonymous · 27/01/2022 17:58

Aww @Mads96 were literally doing the same tomorrow and Saturday.
What an amazing feeling hearing baby x

Mads96 · 27/01/2022 18:05

@namechangeanonymous awhh it's so exciting isn't it!! 🥰 Do you have any feelings if you're having a boy or a girl? I was thinking boy but back to thinking girl now!

namechangeanonymous · 27/01/2022 18:32

My gut instinct all along has been boy, but perhaps maybe fortnight I've been wondering if baby is a girl. You must report back tomorrow @Mads96

MrsKirb · 27/01/2022 19:31

I find out at the weekend, I'm starting to get really excited/nervous!
Also just burst out crying on my husband because my dog was being a naughty little shit, I had had shout at him a few times and got a headache then felt so stressed. Could do without the hormones if I'm honest!

Elsols93 · 27/01/2022 19:56

@namechangeanonymous il send I’m so chuffed 😍😂

@MrsKirb I know what you mean about the hormones. Yesterday afternoon I had a right mood on for no reason. Just sitting here on my own and I started feeling down and moody. Pregnancy is mad isn't it?

Its been helpful seeing other women's bumps. I've been having some body issues and feeling a bit upset about my belly tbh. I've always had a fat belly and seeing it get bigger has been getting me down a bit. I feel like it's way bigger than it should be for what stage I'm at. But looking at others, it's actually not much bigger than anyone else's so that's been comforting to see.

I'm so jealous of everyone finding out the genders. Resisting the urge to early scan to find out but its so tempting

missv556 · 28/01/2022 07:40

Can anyone shed any light on this situation for me please?

Basically I had a job interview at the beginning of January for a call centre position at my local gp surgery. I didnt disclose my pregnancy at the time, as I felt that it would be held against me and they wouldn't hire me. It was a 6 month fixed term role. Last week they made an offer of employment via email. I then informed them of my pregnancy. Once they received that information, they quickly retracted their offer. I've just been reading up online about that being pregnancy discrimination and I may be able to bring a case against the employer.

Does anyone have any advice/been through a similar situation?

laurenGame · 28/01/2022 09:40

Ouch @missv556 I'm not a lawyer but it sounds dodgy however is there solid proof that they retracted the offer after you told them you're pregnant ? They're 💯 in the wrong it's whether it can be proven. Did you sign the contract?

I'm sorry that must feel awful 😣 people running in the opposite direction from us when they learn we're pregnant :( it's unacceptable

Coco9910 · 28/01/2022 10:01

@missv556 what have they said is their reasoning for retracting the offer? If I were you I’d contact citizens advice to see what they say in regards to if you have a claim. That’s so bad though! I definitely think you would have a claim!

missv556 · 28/01/2022 10:51

I spoke to the interviewer after the offer was made on the phone. I said I was pregnant and she said she'd have to speak to her manager. She called back after maybe 30 minutes and said they couldn't have me for the job. I have the email for the job offer. But the retraction was by phone. I hadn't signed anything
