@chh0412 it isn't working for me sadly just takes me to my homepage.

crazyhairbear · 15/01/2022 13:05

Has anyone started to buy things yet?

Lianna93 · 15/01/2022 13:37

@crazyhairbear I bought my cotbed so far & the rest has came from friends.
I've got my Moses basket, A few bits of clothing, some sleep suits too & the tommee tippee prep set.
My next big purchase will likely be the travel system & then it's just all the smaller stuff to gather.
But I believe there's probably quite a bit coming from family members too.

Have you gotten anything yet?

Mads96 · 15/01/2022 14:49

@crazyhairbear I've been buying little bits here and there. Today I bought a changing bag in primark as it was reduced to £10! Also got the angelcare bath seat for £12 and the Tommee tippee bath thermometer for £10 from Aldi which is cheaper than other stores 😊
I need to buy a prep machine and car seat as my main purchases but I have my bedside crib and cot and pram from my first baby

annie1994 · 15/01/2022 15:30

We have just had our private 16 week scan and have found out we are having a boy! Will be our second little man. Our first is 16mo. 2 crazy boys under 2 🤪😂

namechangeanonymous · 15/01/2022 16:14

We've brought our pram so far we wasn't going to but we found a good deal and I fell a bit in love (the lady in the shop saw me coming 😄) other than that I've been brought a few odds and ends of clothes / dribble bibs when I saw them and found them cute.

How lovely @annie1994 many congratulations.
Just an heads up your names are showing on the scan.

I've bought a next to me crib and the angel care bath seat from aldi so far... went to look at prams yesterday but haven't got a clue 🙈 this is our first baby so I think I'll be asking a lot on here what I need to buy

ShellUK09 · 15/01/2022 16:52

So far I have only bought maternity jeans from H&M! As this is our first baby and all new I'll be taking notes of what everyone is buying. I will need to write down a list of essential items to buy as feeling a bit clueless at the moment!

ChinChilly · 15/01/2022 17:22

@ShellUK09 I've just ordered some maternity jeans.. I feel abit silly being only 14 weeks but i haven't been able to do any of my jeans up for a while now! I'm the same I've got no idea what we'll need so I'll be making a list.
Had a mooch at the prams in John Lewis today, felt surreal!

DayToNight · 15/01/2022 17:47

I've been in mat jeans since week 10 - DC2! If you're struggling with the button on jeans use a hair tie - loop it through the button hole and the hair tie then use the other end on the button. It's allowed me to fit into things for a while longer

ShellUK09 · 15/01/2022 17:59

@ChinChilly yes same here, almost at 14 weeks and I couldn't wear my jeans anymore. Been living in jogging bottoms, but needed to smarten up a bit. It's lovely when you can start to think of buying things and it all seems real all of a sudden. @DayToNight thanks for the jeans tip!

First baby here too and feeling very cautious so I'm putting off buying anything for the baby yet - though a friend has given me a breast pump kit she had brand new, lol. Also just bought some more leggings / leggings, and tried to order some wireless bras but had to send them back as the sizes were all off. Really don't want to have to go and get measured again just yet but might just have to bite the bullet.
ChinChilly · 15/01/2022 19:34

@ShellUK09 me too but I've been going into the office more at work and I'm struggling for stuff to wear! Yeah it is a strange feeling especially after miscarriages because you never think you'll get to that stage.

@DayToNight I've been doing the hair tie trick haha it does me until about lunch time but my stomach seems to get huge by the end of the day

SamanthaVimes · 15/01/2022 19:50

I ordered these dungarees the other day and they’re great. There’s adjustable buttons for the inevitable expansion and MY PHONE FITS IN THE POCKETS! I think I might live in them for the rest of pregnancy Grin

WotsitMum · 15/01/2022 19:56

@NamelessBaby1 i wouldnt get measured as your bra size will fluxuate and change when pregnant and when you give birth! Id reccomend sports bras in the sizes s/m/L

Id 100% reccomend new look maternity jeans, the over the bump ones, i have 2 pairs and lived in them my last pregnancy and cant wait for my bump to fit into them this time as they were so comfy!

namechangeanonymous · 15/01/2022 20:00

I'm currently donning my h and m mama jeans don't quite need them yet tbh but my others don't fit.

I'll need to look into those jeans, could definitely do with a pair now! And yeah that's exactly why I was hoping to put it off - however I need proper fitted bras due to my size, generic sizes just don't work for me. I've tried the Molke ones which are supposed to have a bit more give and are non wired, but I'm not a huge fan of them.

Morning

14 weeks today and fed up of my body bloat / weight gain / constipation already and now dreading being bigger and bigger, labour, delivery and being massively over weight afterwards. Fuck. Misery in the house.

Lillibob1991 · 16/01/2022 09:43

Just had my 12 week scan was magical 🥰 After suffering a miscarriage years ago it was the reassurance I needed… however the day after my partner tested positive for COVID and now I’m anxious again … anyone else hd to deal with COVID during pregnancy?

Lillibob1991 · 16/01/2022 09:44

Adsa sell really good bras the ones I got from there are super comfy Smile

Coco9910 · 16/01/2022 13:03

@Lillibob1991 congratulations! Glad all went well! I had covid a couple of weeks and I think you just need to monitor yourself for a high temperature. Otherwise just get plenty of rest 💕

@nadgersbadgers totally normal to feel like that! Our bodies are going through a lot and it’s okay to have the down days! Sending lots of love!

namechangeanonymous · 16/01/2022 14:52

@nadgersbadgers can definitely relate I had a right low ebb about similar things last week. I felt so alone even though I'm luckily not alone I felt so much it was just me experiencing stuff and all my DH had to do was tell me it'll be worth it when I just wanted him to say I know its shit for you right now.

I’ve just had covid. I had about a day and a half of feeling really shit (but not dangerously ill) and was just like a cold after that. Obviously I wasn’t trying to catch it but I think on balance I’m glad I’ve had it relatively early before my lungs are all squashed up as I’m sure it would be much worse then and now hopefully I’ll have extra antibodies against it. I’m sorry to say my pelvic floor hasn’t recovered from my first pregnancy completely as the cough was quite bad and I ended up having to wear a liner in case a coughing fit caught me by surprise Blush
