Attention pregnant bargain hunters! Just popped to Lidl to restock the tinned spaghetti (18 cans... obviously.) and noticed a baby event this week. Starts on Thursday and some of the prices are so good they'll sell out fast. So we all need to call in sick to work on Thursday. Attached some images.

Welcome to this lovely corner of the Interweb @Slanketeer and @Whatcanmyusernamebe! 😊

I’m loving the names people are giving their bumps. We’ve called ours Barbara / Babs 😅

@Littlemilomoo I’m exactly the same! Nothing fits, either too small or too big. I’m living in the same pair of stretchy trousers.

pregnancydiaries · 18/01/2022 17:23

@PeeAche the price of the next 2 me is a complete bargain!!!

Ladies - tell me that "straining" in the toilet is totally safe? I'm SO constipated that there's nothing else for it but the more I push the more I feel like I'm pushing the baby out...😂 sorry for the totally TMI but we're all friends, right?

Clueless22 · 18/01/2022 17:29

Thanks for sharing @PeeAche

I was spotted the same in aldi today, liking the look of their baby carrier and changing bag so will be up and at them on Sunday.

Popped into out local tesco extra and their baby event was a bit disappointing.

@pregnancydiaries I'm totally feel your pain. I'm the same and it feels like baby must be feeling some of the strain but without the strain it's just not going anywhere and I need it out - TMI! 😀

Hello all! So lovely that so many 20 week scans are this week!

Mine is Friday but I'll only be 11w5d... does this seem to early.. has anyone else had it around this time as it seems a lot of you are having them past the 20w mark?

InvisibleDragon · 18/01/2022 17:49

@Littlemilomoo - yes, me! OK for jeans for a few weeks because I have always had a small waist and big thighs, so jeans that have always been too big on the waist now for better. But my work trousers are decidedly tight now. I've already been "reminded" that the dress code doesn't include jeans Hmm. I've just ordered some maternity clothes from H&M, but I think they'll be too big for a while. I'm wearing baggy jumpers and cardigans to disguise how bad the trousers look on the bump.

Also, bras! My only nice bra that still fitted died on me last week, so now I only have sports bras which are either horribly tight or loose enough to be painful every time I drive over a speed bump.

Clueless22 · 18/01/2022 17:50

@yellowpinkbluegreen I had a scan at 12 weeks and then have a further 20 week anomaly (will be 19w 6d) scan booked this Friday.

Assume this is this your first scan?

Omg I meant to write 19w5d LOLLLL WHERE HAS THE TIME (and my brain 🧠) GONE 🤣🤣🤣

Clueless22 · 18/01/2022 17:53

@yellowpinkbluegreen lol 😆
Sounds perfect timing to me then x

Clueless22 · 18/01/2022 17:53

@yellowpinkbluegreen good luck for Friday too 😀 x

Prema112 · 18/01/2022 18:03

Thanks for all your well wishes ladies, scan done! It was mixed, baby is perfect as far as she could see but stubbornly wouldn't be anything except sitting up (their fave position) so she couldn't check spine or kidneys. No amount of walking or drinking changed this so I've got another scan in 3 weeks. I feel mixed, I'm so pleased heart, brain etc look good but still don't feel I can fully relax. OMG she pushed so hard and now I'm really sore and kinda cramping! She wasn't chatty at all so I spent the scan very tense expecting her to say something was wrong. We've got the gender in an envelope- haven't opened it yet!

I am now fastening my work trousers with a hair tie. 🤷🏻‍♀️ loop it through the button hole and then over the button. Works for jeans too. Cover with a baggy top.

I have no proper bras to wear. My boobs have very suddenly exploded and I think I've gone up a size in a week. I'm currently wearing a bikini top that never fitted me before. Tbf they do look magnificent in it. (Not keen on the sight of my breasts without a bra on at the moment though. My nipples resemble 2 snack size pepperamis.)

Last night I had swelling in both hands. My fingers looked like sticks of white pudding.

Must stop comparing my body parts to processed meat products...

PeeAche · 18/01/2022 18:08

Congratulations on your perfect little baby @Prema112 ❤️ ♥️ 💜

Clueless22 · 18/01/2022 18:11

Congratulations @Prema112, looks perfect x

Littlemilomoo · 18/01/2022 18:37

@Rolledthedice it’s so difficult being in between isn’t it.

@InvisibleDragon seems a little harsh given your pregnant. Luckily I WFH most of the time but work know I won’t be sticking to dress code when I’m in the office 😂 and yes to the Bras I’ve been living in sports bras for weeks! Poor DP my appearance has really gone down hill lol

@PeeAche that made me laugh so much but I agree! DP keeps commenting on how my nips look like they’ve had a day in the sun they are so dark now it’s so weird! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lostintranslatio · 18/01/2022 18:37

@Prema112 that's a lovely baby 😍😍😍

Re bras, I bought a set of 2 maternity bras in H&M recommended by a friend, and they are fantastic!

Re constipation, ladies please do not strain. It is pretty bad for your pelvic floor and easy to end up with hemorrhoids (sorry TMI). You can try with milled linseed or Chía seeds (increase your water intake too). And sth that works wonders is using a little stool to keep your knees above your hips levels while in toilet (like the little kids stool for the bathroom).

JAR1981 · 18/01/2022 18:38

I didn’t check this thread for like 5 hours, you ladies are on fire!

Congratulations on your scan @Prema112. I bit frustrating but on the positive you get to see them again in 3 weeks :)

@Littlemilomoo totally! Even worse I have grown out of the pregnancy jeans I caved and bought at 15 weeks. Ridiculous! Luckily I WFH so now live in joggers. We’re on a treat spa break next week though and really need to find things to wear for dinner. Most of my dresses are obscene!

@pregnancydiaries @Clueless22 glad it’s not just me worrrying about this 🙈

@yellowpinkbluegreen I was 19+5, although my maternity notes said 20+1 based on my 12 week scan. We’re IVF so really do know! I think it’s fine after 18 weeks in my CCG though.

Littlemilomoo · 18/01/2022 18:39

Going to my 3rd session of pregnancy yoga tonight and I couldn’t recommend enough! I always have the best night sleep afterwards and can always feel little one having a good dance around in there while in there - I think because I’m so relaxed. It’s so nice to take an hour away from life to just chill and focus on feeling connected to them ❤️ It’s the best feeling

Littlemilomoo · 18/01/2022 18:41

@Prema112 congrats on your scan 😊

@JAR1981 wow growing out of pregnancy jeans is impressive! Bump must really be popping how exciting !!

Slanketeer · 18/01/2022 19:45

Thanks for the welcome ☺

Haha @laurenGame there have been plenty of 'this wouldn't happen if men got pregnant' moments!

Me too @Littlemilomoo, currently mainly alternating between pjs at home and scrubs at work. Can highly recommend scrubs for hiding a bump and being super adjustable 😂

@Prema112 congratulations on the lovely scan! Will be thinking of you as you wait for the next one.

We've been calling little one roo, so much so that I think we're going to struggle switching to using their name once they're here!

PleaseSendNoodles · 18/01/2022 19:58

Welcome newbies!

And I hope everyone with scans enjoyed them and was reassured everything is fine!

@Annabell1 and @Slanketeer we’re due date triplets!
