Thanks @peeache, will give those a go!

Jealous @RoseValleyRambles what class? Smile I'm 16 weeks on Tuesday, tempted to go back to Pilates just take it easy.
I really miss running but no way I'll try that pregnant.

My normal bootcamp, so a mix of strength and cardio. I was really surprised how manageable it was. I checked in with the instructor first and she just said take it a little easy, and gave me low impact alternatives to some of the exercises.

I suspect third trimester may be a different ballgame, but for now it was really nice to get back to the Saturday morning endorphin hit, and baby doesn't seem fussed so far Smile

I'm not a ridiculously fit person, only started doing the class this summer, so was really keen not to lapse back into my couch potato ways.

Hi, first time posting but have been lurking for a few weeks.
Is anyone else having their 20 week scan super late? Mine isn’t booked until I’m 21+6 & I saw someone earlier post that the NHS recommend between 18 & 20+6. Should I call & ask them to move it forward? It was booked at my 12 week scan & I was so sick with HG & trying not to vomit in the waiting room that I didn’t really pay attention to the date until now.

PeeAche · 15/01/2022 12:21

Hi welcome @aus12 and congrats on your pregnancy.

My own trust seem to prefer to have you in before 20+6 but other trusts seem to be more flexible.

My DH reckons it's in case there is a problem with the position (meaning they can't get all the readings) and they have to invite you back in a couple of weeks for a rescan. 20+6 gives my (very disorganised!!) trust a bit more time to play with.
I believe the actual, actual cut off is 24 weeks - and this is because of finding abnormalities before the medical termination cut off point in England.

I'm sorry if I scared anyone. I've just rechecked my leaflet and it definitely says it must be before 20+6 in MY trust. But clearly it is another one of those things that varies wildly!

Is anyone else not feeling baby yet? I’ve felt nothing, did hear the heartbeat last week at a midwife appointment but other than that this still does not feel real.

Also is anyone finding they need to pee a lot and don’t fully empty their bladder?

I had some flutters one night lying on my back in bed reading a book, and again the following night... Think I felt something last night too, but it could just be digestion/wind. If advise lying down in a quiet room and just reading 😉

And yes to not feeling like fully empty bladder. Annoying isn't it!

Prema112 · 15/01/2022 13:06

@Clomid1 Yes! I feel like a can't empty my bladder properly and also the wee comes out really slowly... I'm glad I'm not the only one wasn't sure if this was a common thing in pregnancy. It's not a UTI as I'm just finishing a course of antibiotics for a UTI that I didn't actually have (they put me on antibiotics before sending urine to lab)

Prema112 · 15/01/2022 13:07

@PleaseSendNoodles So sorry your husband is away for all the scans that must be really hard Sad

PeeAche · 15/01/2022 13:14

I haven't been able to empty my bladder properly since I was a teen so it's really nothing new for me. But I am annoyed with the frequency with which I need to pee. It's like my bladder has halved in size! I can't make it through a whole night at the moment.

Is anyone here still up to the rumpy pumpy with their partner? I've noticed that it's starting to get uncomfortable because the lower part of my stomach is so hard. Is anyone else experiencing that?

@Clomid1 - I've felt nothing either. I'm trying not to think about it but everyone keeps asking me!

Prema112 · 15/01/2022 13:28

@JAR1981 How was your scan? X

Prema112 · 15/01/2022 13:31

@PeeAche Between the covid, pelvic pressure, UTI's and swollen vagina (a new symptom-yay!) there's been no rumpy pumpy for a while around here! I remember it getting uncomfortable in my first oh-so-much-more-straight-forward pregnancy though! Backwards on top helped!

Rolledthedice · 15/01/2022 13:51

@Clomid1 I haven’t felt anything yet either. I put it down to anterior placenta! Nearly 19 weeks now. It’s disconcerting isn’t it!

PleaseSendNoodles · 15/01/2022 14:04

@aus12 yes - mine isn’t until 22+5! Apparently that’s the earliest that have and it’s fine 🤷🏼‍♀️ So yours shouldn’t be a problem. Some places don’t give a 20 week scan at all! 😬

@Prema112 aw thanks. It’s a bit naff but I’ll survive! He was here for 4 weeks (weeks 7-11) so we squeezed in an extra scan then, luckily. To be fair, we tried for this baby knowing he’d be gone so I’ve really only got myself to blame 🙈 It’ll be weird for him to come home when I’m 38 weeks having not seen me since 11!

@PeeAche I thought the same regarding the 24 weeks but the termination limit doesn’t apply to those pregnancies terminated for medical reasons. So who knows what it’s for!

Pandamama88 · 15/01/2022 14:17

@Clomid1 I haven't felt anything yet but I found out at my 20 week scan this week that I have a front facing placenta and that this can mean you feel things later in the pregnancy.

RoseValleyRambles · 15/01/2022 15:06

I just opened a nice 'mum to be' gift box from a friend, and had a good laugh when on the bag of bath crystals it advises pregnant women (the intended recipients of said box) to consult their doctor before use .

On a scale of 1-10, how receptive do you think my doctor might be to a request regarding the usage or otherwise of pink Himalayan salt crystals? Grin

CurryandSnuggle · 15/01/2022 15:39

@RoseValleyRambles hahaha hilarious! That’s like when you buy nuts and it comes with a warning that it may contain nuts. You’d bloody hope so 😂

PeeAche · 15/01/2022 17:46

I'm going to a ball tonight. I have a floor length sequin gown, "new" irregular choice shoes and I've just spent an hour on my makeup. 🙊

I'm sitting here enjoying a fin and fonic (that's a fake gin and tonic) and waiting for the baby sitter to arrive.

It's good to feel good again. I'm a million miles from the woman who had to mop her own vomit off the ceiling.

Imhereforthecake · 15/01/2022 18:02

@PeeAche
You never fail to make me smile with your posts ❤️
Have a lovely time and enjoy!

GrowBabyGrow · 15/01/2022 18:03

Have fun @PeeAche! I've also taken to adding a 'f' to all the non alchy drinks, makes it so fun. Quite partial to a can of Beavertown's low alcohol 'feer' at the mo 😅

I also haven't felt anything yet. I thought I had some flutters last weekend but I am now very sure they were wind. I'm still only 16wks though.

We went to look at travel systems today and had great fun wheeling them around the shop. My front runner is the Egg 2 but it's SO pricey. I was then 'that' person and stopped a stranger at the national trust place we went to after to ask if they liked their Egg pram Blush thankfully they didn't run in the opposite direction and gave us their review.

JAR1981 · 15/01/2022 18:35

Evening ladies.

@fpeg lovely news on your scan. Mine also went great. Everything normal and on track, such a relief. Our sonographer was lovely too and explained everything really clearly and spent ages trying to get a good picture for us at the end. Baby was head down in my pelvis looking towards my bum for the first 20 mins wriggling and kicking legs overhead but they turned around and we got there with all the measurements in the end. I couldn’t believe how much we can see now!

@Prema112 sorry to hear about your husband. It’s a really tough decision but think i would go without too and good you’ve got a friend to go with you.

@CurryandSnuggle congratulations on your wee girl!

JAR1981 · 15/01/2022 18:38

We went for an initial look at prams/buggies today. Has anyone decided yet? We liked the uppababy vista and icandy peach although both are rather pricey and heavy. But we need something chunky as live in the countryside and really liked the fact the baby can sleep in the bassinets overnight which would be great for travelling. We’ve been brave and booked a holiday to Cornwall for August eeek!

fpeg · 15/01/2022 18:40

@JAR1981 I'm so glad your scan went well! And thank you to everyone who has commented with your congratulations for me, it really is lovely being part of this community 💚

We went and did some baby shopping to celebrate today as all of a sudden feels like she has a real identity 💚💚💚

JAR1981 · 15/01/2022 18:44

@Matilda30 I feel your pain! I’m treading a fine line with lactulose, fibogel and prune juice. Still waiting to perfect the balance. One of my less favourite pregnancy symptoms.

Lostintranslatio · 15/01/2022 19:17

@Prema112 @Clomid1 You just made my day. I have spent the past two days wondering why my pee comes out sooo slooowly, if there would be a problem or UTI. Relieved now that I'm not the only one 😅

@RoseValleyRambles I am also back working out. I was pretty fit before pregnancy, going gym at least 4 days a week, but I have had to reduce the intensity so much, as I still get very fatigued and breathless very easily.
