@MrsNT 😂 I realised I was using mine all wrong after my appointment yesterday! Hoping it start having better nights sleep...! I just remembered that she also said it can be helpful to have a pillow under your waist/bump, particularly when we start getting bigger as the bump will pull/twist us forward so a pillow will support that and hopefully keep the spine more aligned!

Roxystar23 · 13/01/2022 20:05

@LM42 - I had my results back today and my results were 1:1652 - we are not concerned. We will just wait and see if there are any markers on my 20 week screening scan next week.

I definitely think when converted into a percentage it’s a lot more reassuring. :)

CurryandSnuggle · 13/01/2022 20:10

Oh man @PeeAche don’t do this to us, we need to read you now 😂

Lostintranslatio · 13/01/2022 20:20

@PeeAche wow! So curious now! Maybe I have one of your books in my shelf, who knows 😊

I feel so jealous. Really 😂 I'm now 16 weeks and, besides the fatigue and breathlessness, I feel nothing. I can't wait to feel some movement at least, that I know there is sth happening in there 😅😅😅

pregnancydiaries · 13/01/2022 20:25

Totally agree with this 😂

Littlemilomoo · 13/01/2022 21:25

Good evening ladies!

Long time lurker here! Been following you all since thread 1.. but after a scary 1st trimester with multiple bleeds I honestly never thought I would make it this far and feeling so blessed and grateful 🥺❤️ 19 weeks tomorrow!! And little bean is starting to make themselves known with little kicks and wiggles.

Without realising you have all been my support, advice, and made me laugh when i needed it! So thank you and it’s been amazing following your journeys so far and I’m now ready to join you for the ride 😁

fpeg · 13/01/2022 21:27

@Littlemilomoo how wonderful 💚 sorry that you've had such a stressful time but just goes to show what little miracles we're all carrying 💚💚💚

Littlemilomoo · 13/01/2022 21:33

@fpeg It’s been a scary time. It first they were adamant pregnancy was ectopic as they couldn’t see anything during an early scan following pain but turns out I was just dates were wrong and I was very very early. Followed by bleeds at 6 / 8 / 12 weeks.

But feeling much more positive now and finally letting myself get excited! 20 week scan a week today 😁

Rolledthedice · 13/01/2022 22:04

Aww @Littlemilomoo what a lovely message, it is indeed a wonderfully supportive thread. So pleased you are still here with us and feeling excited now! 💜

pregnancydiaries · 13/01/2022 22:22

Is anyone feeling really thirsty frequently? I drink a lot of water generally, even before pregnancy. This evening I was chatting with a friend for ages by text and didn't get up for ages even though I started getting thirsty. I drank two pints of squash after and have been sipping even more water in bed. I'm still thirsty. I want to stop having more water as I'll be up all night peeing but I still want more

I might mention this to your midwife as high blood sugar can also cause thirst. I do feel thirstier than normal, I'm not normally a big drinker and I am drinking more but probably still not enough in my case 😊 (I might be the outlier here though and others might be more in line with what you're drinking 😊)
EarlGreywithLemon · 14/01/2022 07:51

Yes, very thirsty all the time. I always have a glass of water by my bed at night, but in both pregnancies I’ve had two.
It’s a nice change from a few weeks ago though when I was very thirsty, but drinking anything made me feel very sick.

I was just saying the same thing to my partner last night. I practically downed a glass of water and had to go and fill up my glass again. The first thing I do in the morning is drink a glass of water.
laurenGame · 14/01/2022 08:45

@Lostintranslatio I feel the same - bleeds at 5/9/12 weeks, Endless spotting.

I'm almost 16 weeks and only now I've started to really believe 'I'm going to have a baby soon' bleeding has stopped 🤞 and I feel im finally pregnant. Don't know what I'd have don't without this forum (im also on both June and July threads as im due 5 July; im that keen Grin) x

Turniptracker · 14/01/2022 09:04

Ooof am I imagining it or are colds while pregnant a serious ass kicker? Not covid but it might as well be. I have reverted back to the useless lump I was in the first trimester but full of snot and swimming in a sea of tissues as well. I was panicking a bit as I was getting very hot in the night and worried my temperature was going over 38 (is that bad or did I just make it up?!).

PeeAche · 14/01/2022 09:20

Hello and welcome to @Littlemilomoo

Also welcome to @RedBearMum who I think I missed the first time.

Welcome to the most active "due" thread on Mumsnet. (We're very needy?)

I am so thirsty. I bought a blood sugar testing kit on Amazon because I became convinced my thirst was due to gestational diabetes. I tested myself about 18 times before my DH confiscated it.

This brings the grand total of things my DH has confiscated during my pregnancy to three: pregnancy tests; my blood sugar testing kit; and a home doppler (which I never even got to use!)

He's told me he will confiscate my blood pressure machine too "if I get carried away"

I live with a tyrant. Don't cry for me ladies.

PeeAche · 14/01/2022 09:22

I say "about 18 times"... it was 18 times.

It came with an app! 🤪

destiEos · 14/01/2022 09:41

The thirst thing is weird, I usually drink a lot in summer and barely at all in winter but last night I had DH bring a glass of water to bedside for me. Then I sent him back for a straw, sitting up is already a pain in the arse 😂

Littlemilomoo · 14/01/2022 10:02

@PeeAche I’m exactly the same.

I had to get bloods checked by gp last week as I’ve been having heart palpitations, dizzy spells and thirsty so was sure it could be gestational diabetes or low iron but bloods have come back fine which is great but I don’t like not having answers for feeling so off besides being told ‘it’s normal’.

Oh and the massive toilet roll bill from all the extra wee breaks every 20 mins. I work from home so DP can’t believe how much we’re getting though 😭

JAR1981 · 14/01/2022 10:44

Welcome newbies and congratulations on your wee bumps!

20 week scan day for me eeek. Cue sleepless night and bad dreams about my IVF transfer failing 🤦🏻‍♀️. At least it’s Friday.

Has anyone had an internal scan to measure the length of their cervix? My consultant said I should have that today too although my letter doesn’t mention it.

I’m drinking loads, 3 litres of water a day plus the odd hot drink/juice too.

Vimto1991 · 14/01/2022 11:13

@LM42 my result was 1 in 432, might be because I’m 30, but considered low and not concerned. I’d be very pleased with your result, it’s made me a tad nervous for mine. 😂 especially when they couldn’t get the nuchal reading due to baby moving too much.

Roxystar23 · 14/01/2022 11:17

Hi Everyone, Can I please ask if anyone’s morning sickness seemed to disappear for about 10 days and then made a reappearance in the second trimester? I used to have it every day (sometimes up to 4 times a day) until Christmas Day. I then had it just twice the following week. However this week I’ve had it three days running. I thought I was over this. Thanks!
