Twenty week scan today. All looks good except maybe one of the feet is pointing a bit inward? It was hard for the tech to tell so she has referred us on to make sure.

Feeling mixed today as I know I should be happy and excited but I'm feeling anxious and upset with some stuff going on in my personal life. It's over shadowing things a bit.

Thanks everyone- you've made me feel a lot better Smile I hope everything is ok @pregnancydiaries and @Pandamama88 Thanks

EarlGreywithLemon · 12/01/2022 17:34

@pregnancydiaries don’t worry at all, the doctor will know exactly what they’re doing , and how to avoid anything risky. You’ll be in safe hands.
For all it’s worth, I had something similar just after 20 weeks in my last pregnancy. It turned out to be round ligament pain. It’s absolutely the right thing to get it checked though. I did too, and the doctor/midwife were very supportive and said I should always call if worried.

Thanks so much @EarlGreywithLemon I'm sitting in the waiting room just now and starting to wonder if I'm just wasting their time but it's sore and doesn't feel like anything I've felt before so I'm going to wait, they are SO busy at the moment though Shock

Definitely needed that reassurance thank you ♥️ xx

EarlGreywithLemon · 12/01/2022 17:55

@pregnancydiaries I also worried I was wasting their time and I also had a pretty long wait. But they were lovely about it, and it was a relief to be reassured. It’s always worth getting these things checked out. They always say this and they’re absolutely right. You’re not wasting time in any way. Let us know how it goes, fingers crossed it’s nothing at all!

Kittycat2022 · 12/01/2022 18:12

@fpeg @Prema112 @JAR1981 thank you! I have had movements daily just very sporadic but there was one last night that made me jump Grin

@PeeAche you’re just like me - I am OBSESSED with tinned spaghetti - I like mine on toast!!

Prema112 · 12/01/2022 18:39

@Kittycat2022 Today I thought I'd walked into something on the pavement and jumped back but it was a kick from baby! Must have looked like a weirdo!

@pregnancydiaries Sorry to hear you're in triage but totally agree with @EarlGreywithLemon worth getting checked just for peace of mind, very probably it's just some round ligament pain

@Pandamama88 Nice to see you again! Was wondering when your scan was as I know we have similar due dates. Sorry to hear about hard things in your personal life, sending love Thanks We're here if you want to talk about it

PeeAche · 12/01/2022 18:54

@pregnancydiaries ❤️

Yesterday I asked my midwife about my bleeding and she said "bleeding or pain are never normal and you should have them checked out"

Stay safe.xxx

Pandamama88 · 12/01/2022 19:14

@Prema112 Hi! I've been missing for a while as Mumsnet stopped sending me notification emails. My sister in law visited the other day and was being incredibly, but subtly, bitchy. My husband doesn't see it. It's very complicated but I'm not sure what I can do about it. She was indirectly calling me a lazy bitch, insinuating that I have in the past/am currently cheating on my husband because I'd "go with anyone who was giving me a bit of attention" among other worse things. She she said many things that indicated to me that my spiteful abusive half sister had been in touch with her and that was why she was doing it. I just don't know how to convince my husband as it all flies under his radar and leaves me feeling desperately sad, angry and powerless. People who have treated me like this in the last two years I've just had to cut out of my life but I can't do that with my husband's family. Especially since he isn't seeing what I see. I'm trying to focus on the baby but it's really hard.

destiEos · 12/01/2022 19:17

Someone mentioned whooping cough vaccine the other day, my midwife said she'd call the GP and set it up weeks ago. Was in the GP today getting repeat anti-nausea meds (which they've sent to the wrong chemist!) and they know nothing about it. Have you all had yours already... Leaflet says should get it at 16 weeks, so already a few weeks late 😕

fpeg · 12/01/2022 19:26

@destiEos I just booked mine at my doctor's surgery (couldn't have it at my 16 week appointment as I'd just had my covid booster), can be done anytime between 16 and 32 weeks x

Clueless22 · 12/01/2022 19:48

@destiEos I booked mine through my GP, was booked for yesterday but turned up and it was cancelled and now booked in for Friday, I'll be approaching 19 weeks

destiEos · 12/01/2022 19:50

@fpeg ah - lovely, I'll chase midwife up tomorrow. Ta 😬

Also everyone talking about tinned spaghetti had made me want tinned spaghetti! Sausages, smiley faces and beans tonight though 😋 maybe breakfast tomorrow..?

EarlGreywithLemon · 12/01/2022 19:56

I haven’t had my whooping cough vaccine yet, and from memory my trust give it much later than that - quite a way over 20 weeks. I can’t remember exactly when I had it last time, but I think it was 26 weeks or even later.

pregnancydiaries · 12/01/2022 22:05

@ChildOfFriday @EarlGreywithLemon @Prema112 @PeeAche thank you so much for love ladies ♥️ Still here!! All looks ok with baby thank goodness and got to hear his wee heartbeat. Had a speculum exam and smear and now I’m freaking out that’s caused damage to the baby…will the worry ever end? Anyway waiting for bloods to come back as stomach tender on examination and they keep talking about appendicitis which I’m very convinced it is not 🙄 just sent DP to the shops for supplies xxx

MrsNT · 12/01/2022 23:33

@destieos mine is booked just after 20weeks. They dont do earliar where i am

Tonight we had a gourmet homemade pizza that we cooked in our outdoor pizza oven. My DH makes the dough and I make the sauce. They go into a 450 degree oven, on a hot stone and cook by wood fire.

All I could think about was tinned spaghetti.

fpeg · 13/01/2022 07:16

@PeeAche 😂😂

Vimto1991 · 13/01/2022 09:42

I’ll be having my whooping vaccine at my 20 week scan next Friday as the antenatal ward have a vaccination room, too.

Everyone talking about things they are craving makes me jealous. Haven’t craved anything 😅 in fact, all you guys talking about noodles.. normally love them, but find them horrid at the moment!! My food aversions aren’t as bad as before, but wish I could be enthusiastic about meals!

Also, I read at 19 weeks the baby can start to feel the mothers stress. Do you know how that made me feel? More stressed 🙈 now I’m stressed the baby can feel my stress 🙈

Prema112 · 13/01/2022 09:51

@Pandamama88 So sorry to hear that she sounds like a really toxic person. Hopefully you can keep away from her for a while now Christmas is over? Sounds like someone to avoid especially while pregnant. In a way it's nice your husband isn't picking up on it so he isn't affected by it. Do you have another scan to look at baby's foot? I hope it was just a tricky angle and everything is perfect x

Prema112 · 13/01/2022 09:55

My whooping cough vaccine isn't until midwife appointment at 28 weeks! Seems quite late but oh well. I don't take my own advice and was worried this morning as I always feel baby kicking first thing when I wake up and today I didn't, nor after breakfast so I was late for work because I was lying on my side waiting for kicks. They are now kicking away merrily. @Vimto1991 baby was certainly feeling my stress this morning!

Pandamama88 · 13/01/2022 10:01

Yes I hope it was just a funny angle. They said I would get a phonecall to arrange an appointment at some point today hopefully.

CurryandSnuggle · 13/01/2022 10:13

Ugh, I swear this pregnancy is going to age me by like 10 years 😂 I was awake half the night wondering why I hadn’t felt the baby since about 11am that day. Now today I have a massive little wriggler and I feel like an idiot Grin

@Prema112 no idea what I’m having.. I keep flirting between boy and girl haha. I think I don’t want to lean towards one more than the other in case the outcome is different.

CurryandSnuggle · 13/01/2022 10:14

*flitting (not flirting 😳)

Pandamama88 · 13/01/2022 10:37

I have a front facing placenta apparently so probably won't feel baby kick for a while yet. She was wiggling away on the scan though.
