Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!

Has any body else got a really upset stomach? I’ll be 4+2 today and have horrible diarrhoea which started yesterday. 😢

I have had some spotting too so I can’t help but get a bit worried x

Frankie2015 · 31/12/2021 12:56

The cranberry cystitis sachets from Sainsbury's are really good! Lots of baths, hot water bottle and water!! Feel your pain UTI are the worst! I always suffer with them

Frankie2015 · 31/12/2021 12:56

@309SJ forgot to tag you in my post 🤦🏼‍♀️

Tor88 · 31/12/2021 12:58

Can I ask a basic q - what does the '+2' mean when people are quoting how far along they are?? Thanks 😊

girafferafferaffe · 31/12/2021 13:04

@buttercuplizzy I think it just means adjusting what you do the further along you are. Like no laying down in 2nd & 3rd and not lifting above your head in the 3rd etc. I feel ok at the moment (if a bit hungry!!) so I'll just try and carry on as I am.

Tempusfudgeit · 31/12/2021 13:09

@Tor88 it's the number of days. 5+2 is 5 weeks and 2 days along.

MrsFLongbottom · 31/12/2021 13:10

Hi, can I join? Bfp today, I think I ovulated around the 15th. Only DTD once this month so very surprised! We've been trying for just over a year and I had a missed miscarriage in June at 12w so feeling excited but also pretty nervous. Have one little boy already (2.5y) and can't wait for a second.

Sorry some of you are poorly- we all had the cold from hell here the week before Christmas but thankfully it's cleared now- was convinced it was COVID but all tests negative!

Tor88 · 31/12/2021 13:14

@Tempusfudgeit ohhhh, makes sense haha, thank you 😊

suzieruns · 31/12/2021 13:37

Hello! Can I join? I got my bfp last week 10dpo. Pregnant with 3rd. Slightly anxious as suffered hyperemesis first time and was more controlled second time but I don't make for a very good pregnant lady! Feel fine at present but dreading next week when I hit 5 weeks and that's usually when it all goes down hill. Hoping this time may be different and I breeze through it all! Hoping I can continue exercising too but I found it hard to be upright the last 2 times in the first trimester.

Sorry to hear some of you are so sick. Covid aspect does make it a bit more of an already anxious time.

Sleepy86 · 31/12/2021 13:52

I had an awful UTI in my last pregnancy with my DD at 6 weeks. It was so bad that I was bleeding from my bladder, but didn’t realise and thought I was miscarrying. She’s completely fine and about to turn 4, so please don’t worry too much! Drink lots of fluids and cranberry. If you are getting more unwell give 111 a call, I ended up going into our urgent care centre and they prescribed antibiotics there and then. I did end up needing 2 lots though to get rid of it completely, so again if you feel it hasn’t gone fully go back to the docs x

Sleepy86 · 31/12/2021 13:53

I’ve had diarrhoea this morning too, I’m currently 3+5, periods due tomorrow, so hoping just another pregnancy symptom. Also feeling nauseous today

Beck3115 · 31/12/2021 13:57

@Sleepy86 I’m hoping the same hormones that make us feel sick are giving us the runs too!

I’ve just done a cb weeks indicator which says 2-3 weeks and my first one was on the 26th that said 1-2 so I’m keeping everything crossed that our little bean is growing away x

Feelingpositive2021 · 31/12/2021 14:15

Hi everyone, lovely to link up with you all! Joining this group - got my BFP a couple of days ago! Am 4+2 today with an estimated due date of 8th September! @Beck3115 I’ve also had an upset stomach for the last few days :-(

Beck3115 · 31/12/2021 14:52

@Feelingpositive2021hello! We are the exact same due date too 😌.

I’m sat eating plain crackers, can we take Imodium? I am guessing not x

madeleine85 · 31/12/2021 15:04

Congrats to all the new joiners!! Hope you’re feeling great and are enjoying this special time!!

@Sleepy86 I think I had the same thing last week. It’s much more normal now. I also had really bad cramping on by AF due date which I think was my Body’s final attempt at casting the cells out 🤦‍♀️. I wake every morning right now feeling my boobs to check they’re still sore and to do symptom spotting like a crazy person. Hypermesis didn’t start till week 5 last time, so I’m on a weird countdown to something that may/may not happen. I have my first scan 2 weeks today so just have to get to then. Bloods this week showed doubling hcg but it’s early so I’m not really trusting that right now. I’m also very hesitant to dtd with my
Husband in case I bleed, even though last time it was fine. I’ll need to get over it 😂

Frankie2015 · 31/12/2021 17:18

Haha I do the same with check if my boobs still hurt in the morning! My symptoms have been pretty minimal just sore boobs, some
Light cramping but mainly only at nighttime and so so tired in the afternoons! Hit 5 weeks tomorrow and then when I last miscarried so very anxious! But lines are still really strong (after promising myself I wouldn't buy any more and bought 2 packs! 🤦🏼‍♀️)

annlee3817 · 31/12/2021 17:29

I've got one test left, which I'll do nearer to 7 weeks I think and the have an early reassurance scan booked for 8+2 🤞

Staying away from digital as have read so many threads on here that have caused panic and all been fine, that I want to avoid as it will make me anxious. Only did three tests in total last time, two on day one including a digital to confirm, then one at 8 weeks, I've done four in ten days 🤦

On the boobs front though, remember that soreness can come and go, I didn't have sore boobs until 8 weeks last time and they'd be sore for a few days then fine for two days. This time though sore from the day I got the bfp, so different

spierse · 31/12/2021 20:02

@Tor88 i think you have to do whats right for you with regards booster, personally I wouldnt have had it done in my first trimester and would have waited until 2nd, also clearly it hasnt stopped me getting Omicron 🙄 i had mine about 3 weeks ago and was ill for 3 days, everyone is different do what's right for you.

@309SJ D-Mannose is a miracle worker for me on UTIs and I believe is safe in pregnancy as it is a type of sugar that your body does not absorb, look it up and see if that's something safe for you to take.

@Whoknew22 glad to hear you are feeling better, temp is starting to go up again this evening so have taken Paracetamol again, thankfully it has stayed below 37.7 so far, hoping it will improve by tomorrow, everyone I know who has had it in last 3 weeks says its quite a short illness, just trying to differentiate between Omicron symptoms and morning sickness, I am sooooo exhausted 😩

I do the same with my boobs! haha.

I've had cramps on and off since 23rd/24th but no spotting or bleeding.
I had an early m/c in September and it's been almost 10 years since I was last pregnant before that (my kids are 12 and 9, almost 10) and I spend hours at night trying to remember what pregnancy was like before.

Any advice for most comfortable leggings? Both activewear and loungewear?

Hey! I highly recommend Carolina Dress Room leggings (they also do activewear leggings). They're super soft and stretchy too.

hi I suffered HG in previous pregnancy. Currently at 5 weeks now and the nausea hasn't hit yet like with my HG pregnancy..... i'm very much touching wood. I have a prescription of cyclizine at the ready, which I have occasionally taken when i've felt a wave of nausea.
annlee3817 · 01/01/2022 07:22

Happy New Year everyone

suzieruns · 01/01/2022 08:44

@buttercuplizzy
I really hope it stays that way for you! I need to get some cyclizine prescribed, I haven't even contacted GP yet. Do you find them hard to function on? I feel like last time they made me so drowsy.

Yes, in my previous pregnancy they made me extremely drowsy (i.e. couldn't drive etc)

Pregnancy Sickness Support Charity and a Midwife who I had a pre-conception consultation with, both advised to take Cyclizine pre-emptively as studies show it reduces the severity of sickness. But like you, I find the side effects hard to manage.... so instead of taking 3 x a day I am just taking one at the first sign of slight nausea- averaging about 1 a day.

It does feel like I'm on a weird countdown. I defiently was already ill by this point with my DS, but then I know it can not kick in until 6-7 weeks, so it's just a horrible waiting game.

I'm also taking B6 and Ginger (amongst some other vitamins/minerals) so not sure whether they are helping also.
