Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!

Just wanted to drop a post on to say that if anyone is really anxious and contemplating an early scan I would 100% recommend getting one!

I have spent the last 2+ weeks stressing about every little niggle/symptom/lack of symptoms. I had a scan today at 6+3 and seeing a little heartbeat has made me feel so much better Smile

I was lucky enough to have one because we're having an IVF baby but if you're thinking about booking a private one, do it! It's most definitely worth it.

Belle2210 · 10/01/2022 16:33

Today by boobs are def feeling it more 😬. TMI but Also finding cramps get worse when the constipation kicks in till I manage to go 🙈. Anyone else having this?

TotoAnnihiliation · 10/01/2022 16:40

@Gemmasl35 I feel the same as you.

monkeyjocks · 10/01/2022 16:52

I got both my vaccines and had my booster 3 days after I ovulated. If I hadn't had them already I definitely would now that I'm pregnant. I have a science background and understand why when the vaccine first came out pregnant women were told not to take it. It was because it hadn't been tested in pregnant women when it first came out and they didn't have the data to prove that it was safe if it was safe. Now, after further testing and hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of pregnant women have had it they can tell us that it is safe, and pregnant women can take it. And that it's definitely safer to get the vaccine than to catch covid while pregnant. That's why the messaging around it has changed. It's the same for vaccinating children, as the data comes out showing that it's safe, the vaccine is getting rolled out to more and more groups of people.

It is absolutely your decision to make, and you need to do you what you think is right. But I hope that wee explanation helps you decide either way. Smile

PoppyN1 · 10/01/2022 16:53

@Belle2210 totally with you on crampy constipation! Also had this last time. Totally forgot this was a thing but not welcoming its return. From memory it got better second trimester before 🙏🏻

surprised12 · 10/01/2022 17:01
@surprised12 congrats, great pics!
Did you have an internal scan? X
No - it was just a normal external scan on my tummy :)

Isonthecase · 10/01/2022 17:02
@HopefulMummy44 I'm 6+1 or more today but yesterday had a full day of the worst cramps, scared the hell out of me. Today though I have a mini bump (2nd Pregnancy) so I assume it was just my body doing some major stretching. I am as big right now as I was 3 months in last time! Hope you are feeling better! I can't wait for my scan on Friday, yesterday really scared me tbh.
Afraid it's probably just bloating, I had that last pregnancy to the extent someone asked if I was pregnant! Went down again in a couple of weeks and I was only slightly bigger by the middle of the pregnancy than the one before.

SkaterChick · 10/01/2022 17:07

Hey everyone,
Spoke to my EPU this morning and they told me to call them on the day I'm 6 weeks and theyll have me in for a scan within a couple of days.
I'll be 6 weeks on Thurs 20th so going to be a long 10 days!

Also suffering with the constipation 🤣🤣 my cramps also get better when ive managed to go 🤣 glad it's not just me.
Boobs are a bit sorer today and I've felt nauseas all day.
And I'm sooo tired. I'm ready to get into bed already 🤣

Belle2210 · 10/01/2022 17:17

So glad I'm not the only one! 😂 😂

Sassy144 · 10/01/2022 17:28

@SkaterChick I have just got into bed for a little lie down 😂

SkaterChick · 10/01/2022 17:30

@Sassy144 I laid down on the bed with the cat when I got home at 3 and had a nap for an hour 🤣 I'm supposed to be going to an exercise class in half hour but I don't think that's happening!!

petitlapin1 · 10/01/2022 17:44

I was already off work with post-covid fatigue after getting it 2 months ago. I was improving but today I was back to needing 2 naps. And I could happily have another now instead of making tea!
Can't tell if it's the pregnancy, the covid or the sudden lack of caffeine!

Ttcfinalbub · 10/01/2022 18:01

I haven't had any vaccines since my last vaccine 7 years ago and don't plan to. That was the only time I had flu vaccine and I ended up in hospital with flu and double pneumonia and premature labour, they stopped the labour but they didn't realise placenta had detached was very nearly a bad situation for my lil one. I respect people's choices to do it completely but my personal experiences have me saying no thanks.

madeleine85 · 10/01/2022 18:33

@Isonthecase maybe you are right. I felt really sick yesteday so took some leftover zofran from my last pregnancy (I had HG) and I was crampy all day, but today (sorry TMI) started the day very gassy, and mild cramps. Zofran tends to mess up digestion so it is probably just that and I'll try to stay away from it now. Ahh the joys of pregnancy. I think I am just paranoid about the appt I have on Friday. At the time of booking they offered it earlier in the week but I did it later, and I have major FOMO now. Why did 2 weeks ago me make myself wait 4 extra days... facepalm moment.

LizzeyBenett · 10/01/2022 19:04

5 weeks 2 days and I've no symptoms no fatigue no morning sickness , I should be delighted I guess ? Just terrified it's going to hit me like a ton of bricks. First baby so I've no idea what to expect .

Belle2210 · 11/01/2022 07:15

Random question but has anyone had a craving for coffee rather than a dislike? Woke at 2am really wanting coffee (been drinking decaff) and now thinking about it I have been wanting coffee more often 🤔.

BlueSky57 · 11/01/2022 07:41

Thanks @Sassy144! You’ve made me feel a bit better & I will definitely look into an early scan now

@LizzeyBenett I am 5 weeks today (from LMP) & I am the same. Still no symptoms really but I imagine they’ll be more of a shock when they do come for us! Also my first baby so it’s all quite overwhelming and I want to keep testing all the time ‘just incase’ I got it wrong and I’m not pregnant or something happens and I won’t know

PoppyN1 · 11/01/2022 08:01

@Belle2210 ahh that’s interesting! So my want for coffee isn’t a craving so much as I’m really missing my second cup in the mornings 🤣 Keeping up with a mobile baby is more of a struggle on less caffeine!

@LizzeyBenett yes definitely not that unusual to not have loads of symptoms. It’s so tough because whatever happens in the first trimester is so anxiety inducing! Ie not having any symptoms - oh no is there something wrong?! And also having lots of symptoms - is it a sign of something wrong? It’s such an emotionally charged minefield! Early scans are good as I’m too impatient to wait 12 weeks 🤣

PoppyN1 · 11/01/2022 08:02

@BlueSky57 yes the testing addiction was real with my first! It gets a bit easier after 12 week scan then much more reassuring when you start feeling kicks!

SkaterChick · 11/01/2022 08:17

5+5 today and the fatigue and morning sickness has hit.
I had a nap after work for an hour between 3-4pm then went to bed at 9.30 yesterday and aside from getting up once to pee I slept through, turned my first alarm off in my sleep and woke up in a panic to my emergency alarm this morning 🤣
Im out doing setup deliveries this morning and at my second stop I was hit with a sudden 'im going to puke right now', thankfully made it to the bathroom and I don't think anyone noticed.
I really don't want to tell my work till I reach 12 weeks but we work in a small unit so I'll have to see how goes I guess.

Belle2210 · 11/01/2022 08:48

@PoppyN1
😂😂 Yeah I've usually had 1 coffee a day before now then tea so no idea why I fancied a coffee at that time.

Stellaaa · 11/01/2022 09:58

Hi everyone! I’ve been lurking but thought I would join,
Tested positive on Friday and still haven’t told a soul. Not even my husband. I thought he guessed at one point but nope

Due 7th sept by the online calculators. Debating wether to book an early scan just too see if everything is in the right place
I think I’m in denial at the moment haha

PoppyN1 · 11/01/2022 10:14

@Belle2210 such a frustrating craving! 🤣 Love a middle of the night coffee haha.

And congratulations @Stellaaa ! So impressed with your restraint. Both pregnancies I just bombarded my husband with a panicked positive test 🤣 Congratulations! My positive test was Sunday so I’m definitely with you on still being in shock 😅

annlee3817 · 11/01/2022 10:16

Congratulations @Stellaaa

Regretting my mid morning snack of paprika flavoured crisps, thought I wanted something with flavour, but apparently plain, beige and flavourless is all I want.... Well to be honest all I want is chips and occasionally toast

LizzeyBenett · 11/01/2022 10:23

So my work trousers won't close ... how is this possible I'm only 5 weeks (I was very bold over Xmas) is it weight gain or pregnancy ?? Confused
