Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!

@Chlox16 totally understand your anxiety. Anything we put into our body is a risk, especially while pregnant. I have had all vaccines and all before getting pregnant so that worry has been taken away from me. However, I do get all vaccines and got flu and whooping cough last pregnancy and will do the same this one.

Ultimately you need to make your own decisions to what is right for you and your family. However, I feel a bit fearful about it all as my mum is a neo natal nurse and works with babies that have had to be delivered early due to mums having covid (like 30 weeks). The reason behind it is that covid and the baby (as they get bigger) puts pressure on the lungs so they have to deliver early to save mum. I don’t mean to cause any alarm but it’s something that I didn’t realise just how serious it is.

That said, covid does seem to be getting less serious as the virus mutates. However my mum is still very busy working with mums and babies. I really don’t mean to cause any alarm and hope no one takes this the wrong way. I also completely respect peoples decisions to take or leave vaccines but it’s something to really think about.

Thanks for the replies Smile

@LizzeyBenett that's good to know - thank you!

@Tor88 I have read through quite a lot of them, still in two minds which is driving me mad ha! Just feel like i'm dammed if i do and dammed if I don't

@Gemmasl35 this is exactly how i've felt the whole time, I've covid twice that I know of and both times been fine (touch wood) with no symptoms but a runny nose. Yeh the news obviously always focuses on the really bad/sad news but I think i'm going to be scaremongerd into getting it Sad

surprised12 · 10/01/2022 13:01

My little early scan photos - 7 weeks exactly!!

@Chlox16 96% of pregnant women in hosp with covid are unvaxed. You're more vulnerable in pregnancy, why risk it

Tor88 · 10/01/2022 13:10

@surprised12 aww wow how amazing, congratulations ❤️💖🥰

Sassy144 · 10/01/2022 13:11

@surprised12 how lovely ❤️ must be so wonderful to see. I think I'm going to book an early scan at around 7 weeks too.

annlee3817 · 10/01/2022 13:16

Great pictures @surprised12

Chlox16 · 10/01/2022 13:33

@annlee3817 thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear about your Grandma Flowers
Yeah it does feel me with a bit of positivity knowing a lot of pregnant women have had it now! Just feel more pressured about it now more than ever before but will have to do what’s right me for and baby Smile

@Whoknew22 thanks for replying. I really wish I had just got the vaccine before getting pregnant so I didn’t have to make this decision now. yeh I guess I will be getting all other vaccines such as flu and whooping cough too.

I would just hate for anything to happen to either myself or baby due to covid. Definitely got some thinking to do! X

Tor88 · 10/01/2022 13:55

Can I ask a testing q for anyone that uses the clearblue digi tests?? I've manage to resist so far since I found out, but am now 5+3 so wanted to do a follow up test to check things have progressed. I just got 2-3 weeks on clearblue. It was 1-2 when I first tested so deffo progressed which is great (and I feel v sick and light headed today so it's deffo happening!), but I was expecting it to read 3+ today. When would you normally expect it to move to 3+? Ta :)

annlee3817 · 10/01/2022 14:03

@Tor88 I purposely held off until 6 weeks before doing another digital, it could be that you do one tomorrow and it says 3+

With a margin of error around dates, ovulation etc it can be just a day that makes a difference I believe

Tor88 · 10/01/2022 14:07

@annlee3817 thanks, yeah that makes sense, they're not really worth doing are they as they basically only make you worry haha 🤣 I'd have to buy more if I wanted to another now so hopefully I can resist and just trust that its all ticking along

MOLWI · 10/01/2022 14:24

@surprised12 congrats, great pics!
Did you have an internal scan? X

PoppyN1 · 10/01/2022 14:27

@Tor88 I used them last time! Agree with the margin of error - people’s levels of bHCG varies a lot so it progressing is encouraging! (DOI I’m medical plus more importantly frantically googled all of this during last pregnancy 🤣)

Despite this knowledge I’m still prone to an impulse test. I’m currently testing 1-2 as I’m early days, ideally will leave it two weeks before using the second but watch this space 🤣🤣🤣

@Chlox16

Congrats on everyone's recent BFP's. Grin

Just wondering if there's anyone on this thread that hasn't had any covid vaccines yet?
I had a good cry yesterday about it all as I'm so torn whether or not to get it. It scares me because it wasn't advised for pregnant women originally and now i'm seeing loads of things in the news about pregnant ladies dying or being really ill. Confused
So stressed about it - I would wait until 12 weeks anyway before I make my decision so have a few weeks just wondering if anyone's in the same position?

I've not had any covid vaccines and not planning on getting any either. - as it stands but may change my mind. I just had covid over Christmas ( when I conceived ) and I have never felt so unwell in my entire life! I was bed ridden for a week. I do worry myself about it as I already have a weaker immune system and now added worry of baby too. Not much advice as I'm in the same boat but do understand your concerns and worries.
PoppyN1 · 10/01/2022 14:31

@Whoknew22 I did a lot of reading of the medical literature and was about to reply but I think you’ve summed it up beautifully! Always a tough decision when you’re making decisions for two though - right?! 🙈

PoppyN1 · 10/01/2022 14:33

@surprised12 what lovely scan pictures 🥰 Congratulations!

MOLWI · 10/01/2022 14:46

Just booked for an early reassurance scan next Wednesday!

BlueSky57 · 10/01/2022 14:58

@Sassy144 I am also starving constantly but thought I was just feeling extra greedy after Christmas Blush

I am finding it a bit difficult to actually believe I am pregnant at the moment & feel I’m waiting for things to go wrong. Other than the BFP, I dont have any symptoms or feeling that I am pregnant, so finding it all quite overwhelming and in all honesty, unbelievable Shock

At what point can you actually have early scans? Does it go from your last AF date?

Whoknew22 · 10/01/2022 14:59

@PoppyN1 thank you. It most definitely is scary making decisions. You question everything and quite rightly so I guess 😀

PoppyN1 · 10/01/2022 15:06

@BlueSky57 heartbeats are generally only picked up on USS scans from 6 weeks onwards (yes measured by first day of LMP if known). Obviously exceptions both ways - some might still be hard to see then or some might be picked up earlier!

I had one at 6 weeks last time which showed HR. Think I might book a private one for around 7 weeks this time, but it’s a bit of a guess with me as I don’t have a first day of LMP to go by 🙈

PoppyN1 · 10/01/2022 15:06

To add I don’t think most private scanning units offer them below 6w but happy to be corrected?

madeleine85 · 10/01/2022 15:53

@HopefulMummy44 I'm 6+1 or more today but yesterday had a full day of the worst cramps, scared the hell out of me. Today though I have a mini bump (2nd Pregnancy) so I assume it was just my body doing some major stretching. I am as big right now as I was 3 months in last time! Hope you are feeling better! I can't wait for my scan on Friday, yesterday really scared me tbh.

yesthatsright · 10/01/2022 16:02

My anxiety is through the roof this time 🙈 I can't remember feeling like this my last pregnancy. I thought I would be more chilled this time but it's the opposite. Have a scan booked at the end of January when I will be 8+1. Counting down the days. Also have my covid booster on Wednesday, nervous about this as I've heard people feeling really sick after it even though they were fine after their 2 vaccines!

Belle2210 · 10/01/2022 16:12

@Gemmasl35

Wow my sleep is so messed up didn't manage to sleep until gone 3.30 I have to be up for 6:30 🥱😴 Is anyone else experiencing this it's not every night but it's happing very often it's going to be a long day x
I've been struggling to sleep too. Eventually fell asleep about 1am then woke up 4 times between then and 7am.
Sassy144 · 10/01/2022 16:17

@BlueSky57 try not to worry, I know it's easier said than done and we're all doing it, but some people don't have symptoms or not until a bit later. I remember my sister saying if she wasn't doing pregnancy tests she would never have known she was pregnant as she didn't feel any different. And the excessive hunger could be one! My hubby and I are also still in disbelief and waiting for something to go wrong, though trying to stay positive and calm. You can get private scans from 6 weeks onwards I think, so maybe that would help put your mind at rest? My local one charges £70, not sure how that compares to others.
