Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!

This chat about the new born stage has made me excited. I agree, I will be doing things so different this time. One of our friends came and stayed for 4 hours (they didn’t have a baby at the time). Will be putting my foot down with stuff like that. The thing that does worry me though is my little boy is not a great sleeper so I really hope in the next 7 months something changes as it will be tough with 2 and no sleep. You always get by though right? He will have just turned 3 so fingers crossed things get better.

Did anyone else have a section with previous births? I did and always thought I would opt for another but having a toddler and new born after a section is going to be mega tough. Totally jumping ahead of myself but it’s all swimming around in my head Smile

@C1aire85 welcome aboard. We’ve got this. Together, the wait seems that bit more bearable. Excited to share this journey with you 😘

annlee3817 · 07/01/2022 09:09

Congratulations @C1aire85 sounds like you'll have the same due date as me :)

@Whoknew22 my DD was a terrible sleeper and it really started to improved as she got nearer to 3, so fingers crossed for you.

MOLWI · 07/01/2022 09:11

I'm really worried about calling my GP to inform them because a really close family friend works there and I'm so worried she'll find out and tell people!! I know she shouldn't but I can't help but be so worried that she's going to 😫

Whoknew22 · 07/01/2022 09:22

@MOLWI do you even need to phone the GP? I just phoned the maternity services directly and booked my appointments. They did ask if it was ok to contact my GP. That way you aren’t speaking to the GP surgery directly

Smileykylie85 · 07/01/2022 09:32

Hi All,
I got my first positive test on the 1st January (didn’t test before as I wanted a few drinks on NYE!) Having said that I fell asleep on the sofa at 9pm 🤣.
I’m 4w5d pregnant and I’ve had 3 mc’s in the last year (5w, 8w and 12w) so I’m constantly worrying. I do have a son who will be 2 in February though so there’s definitely hope!
I’m due on 11th September and really hope this one sticks!

MOLWI · 07/01/2022 09:38

@Whoknew22 I did do the self referral but they said that they will contact me when I'm 10 weeks pregnant which seem so far away?!

Whoknew22 · 07/01/2022 09:54

@MOLWI I know it does seem so far away doesn’t it? The good thing is we’re all in the same boat. It’s such a long wait.

C1aire85 · 07/01/2022 10:05

@Belle2210 Thank you :) How lovely that you have got a bfp before the ivf journey - our bodies certainly surprise us at times dont they!

@Whoknew22 Yes -we’ve got this 🤞🏼 It’s so lovely knowing there’s others out there that are going through the same milestones :)

@annlee3817 Ooh due date twins - exciting :)))

@Smileykylie85 Congratulations! I know the worrying feeling - let's hope this is our time :)

surprised12 · 07/01/2022 10:08
@surprised12 yes we're really lucky as I get six months full may and my DH also gets six months full pay paternity
Wow that's amazing!! Very lucky!

I earn the most in our household and we can't afford for me to have 9mnths - 1 year off.

I'm thinking about taking 7 months, and then giving the rest of my stat maternity as Shared Parental Pay to my husband while I go back to work.... it's so tricky to plan isn't it?

MrsR87 · 07/01/2022 12:08

How may of us will have two under two? My DS will be 22 months on my due date! We wanted a fairly small gap and are super excited as mat leave will work perfectly with school hols etc (I’m a teacher) but it’s just hitting me what we may have let ourselves in for! 🤣

calipoppy · 07/01/2022 13:15

@Whoknew22 yes I had an EMCS for my first birth, at the moment I am thinking I want an elective one this time because my first was very traumatic so I feel like I need to feel a bit more like I know what to expect this time. However my daughter will only be almost 2 so I totally agree that it would be so much easier not to have the recovery afterwards 😬

MOLWI · 07/01/2022 13:18

I have a scan booked in for 9 weeks but I'm getting so impatient that I might book one for 6/7 weeks too! Just want to know everything is ok!!

2mumlife · 07/01/2022 13:51

@C1aire85 Hi! I recognise your name from the infertility threads, congratulations!! I'm on a cocktail too but not as much as you by the sounds of it! My EPS isn't until 24th at 7+4 so feels like forever for that reassurance to come. However, I am completely exhausted last few days which in taking as a good sign, with coming and going nausea. Glad I'm WFH!

Whoknew22 · 07/01/2022 14:05

@calipoppy my thoughts exactly. If I went for vbac I would be gutted if it ended in EMCS again. A while to mull it over I guess. I have heard an elective CS is a much nicer process

petitlapin1 · 07/01/2022 15:02

@calipoppy @Whoknew22 I had an elective section for my first as he was breech. Such an amazing experience- none of the anxiety around going into labour, calm and controlled environment. Recovery was a couple of weeks I think- I was definitely ok to cook and care for baby by the time paternity leave was over (although it was over 7 years ago so a bit of a blur!) A long way off thinking about it yet, but would strongly consider it again!

calipoppy · 07/01/2022 15:20

@petitlapin1 that's so good to know, thank you! I have heard from a couple of people now that electives are such a different experience. But yes we have plenty of time to decide!!

nadia1957 · 07/01/2022 15:24

Hi ladies, would love to join you! Had my BFP on the 28th and was quite shocked as was unplanned, had my coil booked in for the 18th this month! Already have DS who is 7 and DD who is 6, had a mmc in September and myself and DD decided we wouldn't try again as the miscarriage was complicated and resulted in multiple hospital trips. But here we are! I am 6+1 and slightly nervous as this was when my mmc happened but I didn't find out until 9 weeks, will definitely be booking a reassurance scan in around the 8 week marker. Congratulations to you all on your BFPs too

Saw a few previous posts with regards to drinking before finding out, I did exactly the same as this wasn't planned! Boozed very hard through out December! However I'm not too worried, two of my friends did the same a few years ago and their two kids are very gorgeous and clever 7 year olds now.

Tor88 · 07/01/2022 15:37

@petitlapin1 that's really interesting to hear!

sg0706 · 07/01/2022 16:18

I have not long found out I am pregnant with baby number 3. It came as a shock after a MC early December , I didn't think it was possible to fall pregnant so quickly after. Does anyone know if you take it from the day you began to bleed with your MC? If so I think my due date will be September 11th but I can't be sure.

Also did anyone have quite a lot of cramping with their third pregnancy? I've never had cramping this early on before and it's making me worry x

nadia1957 · 07/01/2022 18:25

@sg0706 I am in the same boat, this is a surprise 3rd pregnancy! Had a mmc

nadia1957 · 07/01/2022 18:28

@sg0706 sorry hit post too early! I also had a mmc. Did you manage to get a negative pregnancy result before your bfp? I have had a lot of cramping in the first few weeks but it has tailed off in the last few days

sg0706 · 07/01/2022 18:55

@nadia1957 yes I had a negative just days after I had my mmc ! Good to hear someone in the same position . I have heard that cramping early is more common in third pregnancies so fingers crossed all is well 🤞🏻

MBN25 · 07/01/2022 20:32

Just got my positive today at 11dpo! First first response and strip test was yesterday at 10dpo!

Does anyone else get to about 8pm and then end up unbelievably thirsty!

I end up downing drinks from 8ish until I go to bed! Try and just have a mouthful but start drinking and can't stop!

Obviously this is water or juice - no alcohol involved Grin
