Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!

@Tor88 if this is of any reassurance to you, I’m in London and I took my booster when I was 4+2 (currently 5+5). Didn’t feel a thing in terms of side effects.
Personally I would get the shot given the cases here in London and my OB too reassured me that there won’t be any detrimental effect because of the shot but do what you think is best for you xx

arianasky · 04/01/2022 11:01

@MOLWI thank you 🤞🏻

Tor88 · 04/01/2022 11:06

@PixelsMom ah that's good to know thank you! I'm not worried about the shot itself it's more how I react to it as I'll likely get a fever which is no good. But I've leveled that I may well also get a fever if I get omicron and that could be worse so I should probs just go for it!! I was totally knocked for 3 or 4 days with my first two jabs so just not looking forward to that, but it's the times we live in eh! 😅

MOLWI · 04/01/2022 11:19

@Tor88 I had my booster last Wednesday and then found out I was pregnant that afternoon! It's only half the dose of the usual jab so your side effects should be less than previously! I was just a bit tired with an achey arm xx

MOLWI · 04/01/2022 11:23

Was getting all in my head about how I should take another test because it's been a week and I wanted to check my line was getting darker. So here's my test from this morning! Definitely gotten darker so I'm feeling a bit more relaxed now 🥰

Yep agree, side effects would be lesser with the booster. The things we have to consider in these crazy times 😅

PixelsMom · 04/01/2022 11:28

Line is looking great @MOLWI 🥰

MOLWI · 04/01/2022 11:30

Is anyone feeling many symptoms yet? So far I'm just feeling a bit more tired than usual but I think that's all!!

@PixelsMom thank you ☺️

cantbelieveit2022 · 04/01/2022 11:31

@MOLWI that line looks great!!

2mumlife · 04/01/2022 11:45

@arianasky Thats great GP will do bloods and possibly a scan too. Fingers crossed for Thursday!

I'm waiting for a call back from fertiltiy clinic for our next steps. Bit concerned all my symptoms seem to be dissipating, so I'm really hoping they'll get me in for blood check before the 6 week viability scan. This is my CB from yesterday morning (4+4) that I did for some reassurance and got a strong line (though its an ultra early one, so low miu required) and I've ordered a pack of digital weeks to hopefully take for some reassurance

@2mumlife lovely strong line 🙌🏻 I wouldn't worry too much about symptoms it is normal for them to come and go or even have nothing your line looks great 😊

Whoknew22 · 04/01/2022 12:22

@Tor88 I got my booster before falling pregnant but have since got covid the same week I got my BFP and had a fever. It was a really poorly 48 hours. Whilst I’m worried about having a fever while pregnant (my GP wasnt) but it’s hard not to worry. I am grateful for the vaccine as who knows what would have been if I opted for no vaccine. Good idea with the paracetamol. Fingers crossed you will be ok. I am sure you will and just do what’s right for you and your family. Good luck

PuffyCupcake · 04/01/2022 12:29

Hi @KatBee121, thank you 🥰! Lovely to hear we’re due around the same time and a massive congratulations to you! 🥳 I’m around 17 dpo based on the Flo app/ OT, and feel so nervous every time I go to the loo in case I see blood. Have you been feeling any symptoms? Also feel excited to tell my parents and sisters, but last time I did that prematurely and it felt awful telling them about the cp so like you will wait a bit longer!

@cantbelieveit2022, thank you and congratulations to you too! 🥰

@arianasky - I’ve been following your journey so far, good luck with the jab! Please keep us updated on how you are, the latest cb test looks really positive and good luck with the appointment ❤️. I’m also based in London and my GP is oversubscribed so suspect they won’t care until a lot later - considering an early scan too and wise ladies have suggested around 8-9 week mark. Have you searched on providers? Am I right that we would have to go private for it? X

Tor88 · 04/01/2022 12:42

@Whoknew22 thank you so much ❤️ I'm now boosted, planning a restful day of paracetamol and healthy food (not back at work til Thurs luckily). The plus side is I told them I was pregnant and got to skip what looked like a very long queue at Lewisham hospital! So that was a fun first pregnancy outing haha, I'm gonna enjoy that side of things!

2mumlife · 04/01/2022 12:47

@arianasky Thanks lovely. To be honest I'd just got to the place with IVF I no longer expected it to work, so I'm still just expecting it to go wrong. I thi k I've just been on the infertility forum for so long hearing so many stories of MC, CP etc that I just don't see pregnancy as any guarantee of a baby at the end any more... DP and I have chatted about it, as when I first tested positive I just cried as this journey has removed all the joy from these moments and replaced them with anxiety. I'm hoping if this one keeps sticking it'll change at some point X

MOLWI · 04/01/2022 12:54

How far in would you say you'd need to be to rule out a CP?

Tor88 · 04/01/2022 13:02

@MOLWI the internet seems to vary here between 5 and 6 weeks, so I guess if we make it past 6 weeks a loss would no longer be a CP, and would then be classed as an MC

Alexandra07 · 04/01/2022 13:13

@MOLWI if you get your period around the expected time, it's a CP, otherwise it's a MC. So even if it's not a CP, the risk of MC is still there. The chances of a MC drops a lot after the 12 weeks.

pmtqueen · 04/01/2022 13:20

I'm cautiously optimistic and due 5th September 🥰

MOLWI · 04/01/2022 13:25

@Alexandra07 ah ok I didn't know you'd still get your period at normal time if you had a cp! Ok thank you x

arianasky · 04/01/2022 13:25

@2mumlife I know what you mean, having had a loss myself I'm now overthinking every little thing and I'll never relax in pregnancy until I deliver the baby and it is sad as I'd love to fully enjoy the experience

2mumlife · 04/01/2022 14:15

@MOLWI To be honest I think its all just linguistics - a CP is essentially just a very, very early mc. I think medical profession just like to call it a CP as it removes from of the emotion from it, and someone could have a CP and not even realise.

@arianasky I feel just that way. The CB weeks indicators I ordered arrived, so after holding off bathroom for 3 hours I did the test and got a 2-3 weeks which would be right, so feeling a lot more reassured. Seems like the threshold for getting the 2-3 weeks is urine concentration of 158 or higher, so things are certainly a lot better than in my CP. Telling myself to stop being a crazy person now and to try to relax! I used this Mindfulness app during a lot of my fertility journey and they have a section for first trimester mindfulness, so going to get back into doing that as I found it helped previously.

Wisemensay · 04/01/2022 14:25

@2mumlife would you share what that app is? I could do with something to help with anxiety.

(Lurker due end August/beginning of September)

2mumlife · 04/01/2022 14:49

@Wisemensay Its the Mindful IVF app - this webpage has links to the right ones for IOS and goog play: www.mindfulivf.com/

Only a few of their programs are free (they dont charge for the misscarriage support, or the 'get set' program if I remember correctly). I paid to unlock all the programs (I think it was less than £10 at the time, the cost of unlocking 2 programs anyway unlocked everything). Its very much aimed at those going through fertility treatment, but there are other things more universal, like medittions for sleep and anxiety as well

Wisemensay · 04/01/2022 15:13

@2mumlife thanks!
