Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!

I just called the maternity services and they ask if it’s ok to let your GP know. My GP’s aren’t interested in testing as home tests are so accurate these days. Must just depend on which health board you are under. I did call my GP recently though as I was so concerned about having covid and such a high temperature. They wernt interested in seeing me surprise surprise 😂

I just want to wish you all the best of luck. This was me last January and now I have my wee 3 month old boy fast asleep on me. He's the best thing that's ever happened to me and I still can't believe it.

I'm so happy for you all. Smile

Hiya, I would like to join this thread please.
This is my 4th pregnancy, hopefully will be my 2nd child.
I had an early loss and a late loss where I went into preterm labour at 22 weeks and lost my little girl.
I’ve got PCOS too so quite hard to concieve as I have long irregular cycles. I think I am due 10th September and sm really trying to stay positive and not give into the anxieties. Fingers crossed for everyone we all have an easy and healthy 9 months.
I’ve also requested to join the FB group.

I'll give the GP a ring tomorrow morning.. it'll be tough to get through after the bank holiday but I'll just ring to let them know anyway. I've self referred so should hear from them in a few weeks.

@KatBee121 my boobs have been so sore too! That, and just major fatigue have been my main symptoms. Other than that I don't feel too different!!

PuffyCupcake · 04/01/2022 03:41

Hi all,

Really happy to hear about your BFPs, huge congratulations! ❤️ Hope you don’t mind my tentative joining - i’m a bit nervous, had 2xCPs in 2021 - but got my BFP on NY’s day. EDD - 11 Sep, which isn’t the greatest date but beggars can’t be choosers! Looking forward to hearing more about your journeys 🤞🏼.

@becky239 - hope you don’t mind my request to join the FB group - initials VY.

@PuffyCupcake
Ooo congratulations!! 🥰 that's a fab NY surprise for you! Crossing my fingers for you and so sorry about the CP's!
you're due at roughly same time as me, mine could be 11th-12th September 🥳 (all being well that is...I hate jinxing myself 😅)
Does that mean you're around 14/15 DPO too?

@cantbelieveit2022
Ahh yeah I know what you mean, tbf my symptoms seem to be coming and going...had me abit nervous until I got a much better test this morning! Looking more like your awesome ones now ☺️ have you stopped testing now yours are really strong?
That's a good idea with the gp! Take it you're in the UK too then. I wasn't sure when I should notify them, was thinking about waiting until the 5 week mark but now I'm not so sure 😅

Ahh congratulations!! literally the best outcome 🥰🥰 super happy for you!

cantbelieveit2022 · 04/01/2022 08:53

@PuffyCupcake congratulations!

@KatBee121 those lines look great!! So strong! I couldnt resist and done a CB weeks indicator this morning, now showing 2-3 weeks :-) I had done one on Friday and it said 1-2 so it's nice to see that progressing! My self referral website said you can self refer as soon as you get a positive test, which for most would be around 4 weeks so I've just gone ahead. I imagine I'll not hear from them for a while though!

KatBee121 · 04/01/2022 09:05

@cantbelieveit2022
Oh that awesome! 🥳 I've been dying to get some of the CB digitals but I'm gona hold out for another week 😂
I've just called up my gp just to see what I'm supposed to do and she booked me in on 4th Feb to see the midwife at around the 8 week mark which is the soonest they want to see us apparently 🙄🙈
Think I'm gona end up having to pay for one of the private ultrasounds before then 😅
Have you told your parents or anything yet? I'm dying to tell mine. Was gona hold out until the 5 week mark next Monday but not sure whether I should be holding out longer until I've seen a heartbeat 🙈 pretty sure im just overthinking everything right now 😂

annlee3817 · 04/01/2022 09:23

Everyone is different @KatBee121 I told my mum straight away as would want her support I'd it didn't work out, so has to be what suits you and who your comfortable telling :) I've got a reassurance scan booked for eight weeks :)

Tor88 · 04/01/2022 09:36

Hi guys, I'm in the UK (London specifically) and this is my first pregnancy. I was expecting to be able to see a Dr straight away but was asked to fill in a midwife self referral instead, and am told they won't see me til 8 weeks?

I wondered if someone who's had a pregnancy in England before could run me through what I can I expect and when in terms of scans? I know there is a biggie at 12 weeks, and I believe that's when they can check the health is all ok?? Thank you ☺️

cantbelieveit2022 · 04/01/2022 09:39

I think I'll book a scan for 8 weeks too.. im too impatient not to! But I have a few things on in Feb that I'd love to tell some ppl before. I don't think I'll tell my parents until 12 weeks, or at least close to then anyway. Although that seems so far away! My mum would be that excited she would tell half the country! But I have a few close friends who I imagine I would tell anyway if something went wrong so may as well share the excitement with them but reckon it won't be until around 7/8 weeks before I have the nerve to!

arianasky · 04/01/2022 09:49

@tor88 I'm South Wales and the same thing, you have a midwife appointment at 8 weeks a scan at 12 weeks and a midwife 16 weeks and scan at 20 here not 100 percent sure if it's the same in London but can't see it being too different

arianasky · 04/01/2022 09:51

Morning all, so a little update I have bloods at the GP on Thursday booked, GP said if they come back a good amount they'll then scan me, guess it's just a waiting game in the meantime 🤷🏻‍♀️ FRER was faint again today and clearblue was darker than yesterday so I have no clue what's going on

Alexandra07 · 04/01/2022 09:52

@Tor88 it's normal to see someone only at 8 weeks. You can see all the expected appointments and scans/tests here:
www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/your-antenatal-appointments/

annlee3817 · 04/01/2022 09:56

@Tor88 it can vary from trust to trust, usually a booking in appointment between 8 and 10 weeks, then a scan at 12-14 weeks for dating and nuchal translucency test, followed by a blood test (although some trusts do the blood test at the booking in appt) you then have a midwife appt at 16 weeks to go through blood results, some trusts they listen to the heartbeat at this stage, but don't think that's common.

Tor88 · 04/01/2022 10:13

Ahh thanks so much guys this is all super helpful! That link is all v clear thank you @Alexandra07

I guess it's just a waiting game to get that the first appointment and then the 12 week scan then! My friend mentioned hearing a heartbeat at 6 weeks so I had that in my head, but perhaps she did that appt privately or something

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. That's great they're going to do a blood test, Thursday won't be long coming round x
Tor88 · 04/01/2022 10:22

@arianasky that clearblue line sounds positive too 🙏

arianasky · 04/01/2022 10:24

Thank you @cantbelieveit2022 and @Tor88 I'm really hoping and praying it'll be ok 🙏🏻

Tor88 · 04/01/2022 10:26

In other news after lots of umming and ahhing I am off for my booster this morn. I really considered delaying it because I got a bad fever last time and I know how dangerous that can be in early pregnancy. But I also live in omicron central (aka London) so I think I'm just gonna go for it, take all the paracetamol and try and keep the fever at bay 🙏🙏 what a pickle!!

KatBee121 · 04/01/2022 10:29

@cantbelieveit2022
Hahaa I know what you mean about parents getting too excited...I'm hoping they can keep their mouths shut for abit if I decide to blurt it out. It's gona be harder with the inlaws though as they're used to plying me with alcohol twice a week (seeing them tomorrow for the first time since finding out)...they certainly wouldn't believe me if I said I was doing dry January either 🙈😂
@annlee3817 Definitely agree!! It's hard keeping it a secret anyway since I'm excited, but would definitely need my mums support if anything went wrong. How far along are you? ☺️
