@rathernotshare congrats on that little girl!!!

Brightsmoke · 22/12/2021 18:25

Congrats on the girl @rathernotshare

I've got my booster Monday. Then I need to book in for my flu jab for the new year.

16 weeks appointment ended up being today. Midwife didn't turn up yesterday and didn't have her number annoyingly. So messaged the number I had and got a different one today. Everything fine except sugar in my wee so she's going with it being a 1 off but if it's high next time I'll have to do the diabetes test, yay 😒

Rolledthedice · 22/12/2021 19:30

Lovely news, congrats @rathernotshare! :) I meant to say earlier, hope you’re recovering well from your op and taking it easy. Flowers

@beansprout55 How was your scan? Really hoping all ok ❤️

fpeg · 23/12/2021 08:39

Congratulations @rathernotshare the 4D scans can look a bit alien like can't they 😂

beansprout55 · 23/12/2021 10:33

Baby all ok at the 13+3 scan. I really thought the worst - the spotting had increased so so much the last few days. So grateful and relieved x - consultant appointment on Friday so I'm going to push for answers!
The sonographer kept calling the baby "he", several times, DH has now convinced himself she knew and his dreams have come true 😂Really hope he won't be disappointed. The nub theory I've looked at suggests girl!x
@Prema112
Anyway, so happy that we have some good news before Christmas xx

fpeg · 23/12/2021 12:09

@beansprout55 that's wonderful I'm so happy for you to have good positive news to go into Christmas with x

Prema112 · 23/12/2021 12:40

@beansprout55 Yay!!! I'm so pleased! What a lovely Christmas present! I hope you get some answers from the consultant

Ive come down with common cold (not covid thank god) got a horrible runny nose and watery eyes. Anyone else had it and any home remedies during this time? Should I be worried?

ALHCTPS · 23/12/2021 14:04

@MrsNT I’ve just recovered from a head cold. It’s brutal. I longed for lemsip to relieve the pressure on my sinuses, but it’s verboten. Saline spray up the nose helps a bit, but you just have to wait it out. Paracetamol doesn’t seem to do much. Snot in addition to the endless nausea is particularly grim.

MrsNT · 23/12/2021 14:06

@alhctps its day 1 for me today so runny nose is quite brutal. I had the flu vaccine but guess it doesnt work on this cold

GrowBabyGrow · 23/12/2021 20:02

@MrsNT I had a bad cold a few weeks back (also not covid) and found the best thing was these things called breathe right strips that help open your nose and are completely drug free. Helped me sleep!

Matilda30 · 23/12/2021 20:27

I've also got a cold and been doing honey and lemon but could really do with a lozenge for my throat. Are we allowed any?

GrowBabyGrow · 23/12/2021 21:50

@matilda30 soothers are definitely ok and the basic strepsils I think are too but not the max ones or anything like that

czycoup · 23/12/2021 22:19

Talking of soothers.....I had a sore throat a few weeks back and got some halls sugar free. Then I found it's the only thing which keeps my sickness at bay. Do you think it's ok to carry on eating them? They are sugar free?

MrsNT · 24/12/2021 04:53

Think this time of the year we are prone to get a cold but makes me worried about baby

pregnancydiaries · 24/12/2021 07:29

Ok ladies, what do we think? I was sure I saw a wee willy during the scan but now can’t see a nub and that it looks like a girl but I’m still sure it’s a boy!!xx

@GrowBabyGrow thank you!

MrsNT · 24/12/2021 08:15

@pregnancydiaries thats such a cute scan. Although im clueless at determining genders from scan

MrsNT · 24/12/2021 08:16

Ladies is it worth getting the maternity/pregnancy pillow or is it a waste of money?

Imhereforthecake · 24/12/2021 08:43

Is anyone else getting restless legs at night?

GrowBabyGrow · 24/12/2021 08:46

Colds aren't a risk to our babies @MrsNT, just focus on resting and getting yourself better.

I'm also keen to hear pregnancy pillow tips - starting to get very uncomfortable at night!

MrsNT · 24/12/2021 08:51

@imhereforthecake. Not restless legs but getting restless sleep at night. Wake up multiple time during the night .never happened before

EarlGreywithLemon · 24/12/2021 08:52

@MrsNT I am also just recovering from a cold. I just used saline, sucked on glacier fruits and went through lots and lots of tissues! As far as I’m aware colds shouldn’t be an issue, especially if you don’t have a temperature. I had two in my last pregnancy and all was well.
