@RoseValleyRambles yes it's on Thursday all being well 🤞

RoseValleyRambles · 13/12/2021 21:46

@dogmum5 apparently they can make life a bit more uncomfortable, but unless they're huge and in weird places baby is usually fine - things just have to stretch a little further.

Cervix - and scannability - seems to be the main issue. I think I have an April gynae appt booked in via my midwife to look at where things are by then, so it seems like third trimester is when they start doing more than go "did you know there's a grapefruit in your womb?". But mine is literally right by the cervix, and yours may be less inconvenient.

RoseValleyRambles · 13/12/2021 21:47

@rathernotshare it's come round fast! Hope everything stays on track.

Prema112 · 13/12/2021 22:35

@rathernotshare I'll be thinking of you on Thursday and so hoping all is well x

Pandamama88 · 14/12/2021 07:57

@rathernotshare I think you need to see your doctor or midwife about it. It doesn't sound good. I'm 16 weeks and although I'm feeling increasingly round I'm not in any kind of pain.

yellowpinkbluegreen · 14/12/2021 09:09

@PeeAche

Hi *@yellowpinkbluegreen* try not to panic. I think this means you'll be consultant led and be asked to take low dose aspirin (sometimes called "baby aspirin") for the rest of your pregnancy.

I believe that the majority of women with low PAPP-A go on to have normal, healthy pregnancies.

Thank you for your words of advice! Have done a ton of research and it's not as scary as the letter made it sound! And looking on the positive side of getting to have more growth scans later in pregnancy so get to see bub more. Thanks for your kindness Peeache xxx

So, my little boy observed this morning that my gagging away in the downstairs loo was like Edith and her hairball in an episode of Hey Duggee. He’s not wrong.

MrsTwentyNine · 14/12/2021 09:46

Anyone getting an early gender scan? I've got one booked in under 3 weeks when I'm 16+4 🤞🏽

No idea if it will even be accurate but just needed the next milestone to get to!

@AlbatrossSociety in the past I would get into a cycle of very strict intermittent fasting and exercise and be able to shed the weight fairly quickly and regain my confidence. Though since my m/c in July, I fell off the wagon a bit too much but then fell pregnant quickly unexpectedly!

But ofc dieting is not an option at the moment so I've just told myself to enjoy this blessing for the next 6 months and hopefully after June I can work on my self image and getting to my healthiest shape! That's what's getting me through looking at my worst currently 😐 Spots on my face, gained another 2 kg since my booking appt sigh

But that's amazing that you play hockey - maybe you can switch to another exercise that's similar level of calorie burning but is allowed ? Maybe running? I currently have zero energy to do any form of exercise so this is funny I'm suggesting alternatives to you 😂

ALHCTPS · 14/12/2021 10:12

@fiowen45 be really, really cautious about using a Doppler. I believe the official midwife bodies heartily encourage people not to use them, as they can give false reassurance and/or panic you unnecessarily. I gather they say it’s best to leave that side of things to the properly trained professionals.

Olive60 · 14/12/2021 10:18

I had my dating scan yesterday! Tried to add a picture here last night but it wouldn't let me.

Everything seemed great. Was told I was consultant led due to my last baby being small! So extra growth scans which I'm happy about! I didnt think she was that small 6lb8 @ 42 weeks.

I ended up telling my 10 year old yesterday. She has autism and doesn't take well to changes but it just felt right. I've asking random questions if she'd like siblings etc and it's always been a blunt "No!" But she cried her eyes out with happy tears and won't leave my side. She can't wait to be a big sister even though she already has 3 step sisters and doesn't like noise😅.

We told my partners parents too who were really happy and called as soon as we got home to see if they can tell others! I wasn't expecting to share with anyone until 20ish weeks but it's made me really happy and excited sharing!

AlbatrossSociety · 14/12/2021 11:36

@Olive60 I'm so glad your 10 year old had a positive reaction, that must be a relief and weight off your shoulders. I have also found that having people to talk about it with has made me feel really happy and excited.

@MrsTwentyNine unfortunately running is off limits for now due to some back issues in the past. I usually run a lot but it does sometimes twinge my back and my physio says it's not worth that risk at the moment. I see the physio each week and we do pilates and I'm going to start a yoga class in Jan, and I walk every day, but I'll definitely miss the boost that I get from hockey - it's really one of the only places where I'm properly present, not questioning myself, and feeling competent!

You're definitely right though, it's important to let go of it for now and focus on the amazing things my body is doing - literally growing a human! Maybe a bit more meditation to help me stay present as well.

unknownscot · 14/12/2021 12:01

12 week scan this morning - measure 12+6 which is exactly correct for our ivf dates.

Baby wriggling about and doing flips but got all the measurements in the end

❤️

hellointhere · 14/12/2021 13:18

Congratulations! @unknownscot

RoseValleyRambles · 14/12/2021 15:06

Great news @unknownscot. :)

beansprout55 · 14/12/2021 15:08

If any of you don't mind sharing TMI, would you mind sharing what your CM has been like so far during your pregnancy?

Other than when I'm spotting pink/brown, as most of you know I have, mines quite yellow - wondering if that's a problem too or just normal? Varies between watery/creamy/sticky, but always yellow - Will mention it at my MW appointment next week but can't help but research! I don't have any symptoms of BV.

HWka · 14/12/2021 15:46

Congratulations @unknownscot.
Has anyone had a bit of mild cramping? I’m 14 weeks tomorrow and the last few days I’ve had a bit of mild cramps. Hoping it’s just stretching and nothing bad, especially as I told a few family members after the 12 week scan! Xxx

Flowerbug1994 · 14/12/2021 15:48

@beansprout55 I don’t mind sharing am an over sharer 😂😂 first thing I realised when I was pregnant was the discharge I didn’t even think at that point I was pregnant not a though in my mind. It was a week after conception and it was very pale cream and sticky but there was tons of it so much show I kept going the toilet as I thought I had come on my period. Since then I had abit of spotting and it was always in a creamy mucus. Mine can vary anything from clear to milky white to a little bit creamy/yellow am nearly 15 weeks and I’ve had 4 scans already and everything looks completely fine so am guessing we all just have different discharge. Ive never had much discharge in my life before pregnancy either.

beansprout55 · 14/12/2021 16:01

@Flowerbug1994 😂😂 I'm a sharer, sometimes even on here I've written something and thought "wait, this is too far, delete delete delete..."
Ok so you sound a bit like me then, but I think I'm more yellow. It's annoyed as if it comes out my knickers it always looks white but on tissue it's super yellow. I think I'll mention it anyway, they already think I'm a paranoid polly down there.
When did your spotting stop? I still get it a couple of times a week x

Flowerbug1994 · 14/12/2021 17:02

@beansprout55 yes am the same more of a creamy yellow on tissue. I had spotting pink and brown between 5+5 and 6+5 for a full week. At that time though my constipation was so so bad and I was really straining. Then I was scanned by EPU all was fine. Then at 9+6 I started bleeding for about an hour bright red then brown the next day. Had a couple of days of spotting and then I’ve fingers crossed had nothing for about 4 and a half weeks now. Had my dating scan on 3rd December all was fine. Got my gender scan private this Saturday.

Journeylikenomother · 14/12/2021 18:07

@ALHCTPS I agree with you on the home Doppler comment...v much discouraged more often than not they cause more anxiety and stress. I also asked my consultant yesterday about kick counting apps (for a little later on) and again, it was a firm no - for similar reasons.

Roxystar23 · 14/12/2021 18:17

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all well! I went for my scan today - we thought we were at 12+2 but it turns out I’m actually 14+5. So that was a bit of a shock but it was so lovely to see my baby jiggling around (perhaps a little too much) & see the heart beating.

The only thing is - because I’m further along they cannot perform the screenings. We were told we could have the test for Downs where they remove fluid using a needle but there is a risk of m/c 100/1. We have decided we don’t want to take the risk. It did dampen our spirits a little but we were so happy and relieved to see the baby on the screen and know it wasn’t just all in my head!

Pandamama88 · 14/12/2021 19:01

@Roxystar23 Sorry, that is really bad luck. Have you heard about the NIPT test? It's non invasive, but if you have it privately it costs about £400. It tests for Downs and several other syndromes. Something to consider. I didn't have it personally but I read about it.

AlbatrossSociety · 14/12/2021 19:37

@beansprout55 yep I'd say similar, I've noticed an increase and it definitely looks yellow on tissue but not in underwear. Toilet paper is properly bleached though isn't it so I'm sure that makes it look more yellow! Mine kind of seems to vary and some days there's not much and other days there's lots. I do think it's a symptom as you move into second trimester specifically as well, mines definitely changed over the last couple weeks. Although a bit grim it's actually so nice to have somewhere to discuss these things!!

@rathernotshare how are you feeling?

rathernotshare · 14/12/2021 19:46

@AlbatrossSociety I'm ok thank you for asking, just very emotional not knowing where I'll stand in 48 hours x

Vimto1991 · 14/12/2021 19:47

@Roxystar23 I couldn’t have the 12 week nuchal test as the baby moved too much. I had a quad blood test today which tests for Down syndrome (im 15 weeks tomorrow) and the anamoly scan can detect the other two conditions, so I’m not sure why you haven’t been offered that.

Anyone here suffering from more sickness than usual? It only kicked in second trimester and is getting worse and worse. I went from 12 weeks of just feeling sick, to I’ve already thrown up both days this week. 😭
