@beansprout55 I'm 11 weeks tomorrow, going for a scan. I'm going scans weekly and wondering if it's bad for the baby!

I can't remember not spotting now.
I think I'll decline again getting my cervix checked, what answer can they give me..? Confused

How are you feeling overall?

Prema112 · 13/12/2021 08:10

@laurenGame I was a bit concerned about getting my cervix checked as like you say I didn't want poking around up there possibly restarting bleeding. I'm glad I did though, she said it all looked fine which was reassuring. She said one reason for bleeding could be womb cells growing on your cervix (or something like that?!) which is normal and not a concern. I didn't have it but maybe you have. So sorry you're still spotting, mine stopped at 12 weeks hope yours does xx

Anyone booked their covid booster today? They had space for me on the 16th this week as my GP sent a text. I’m really freaking out. Pfizer caused me to have an early period, and then a really odd late period and I don’t want to lose this baby, especially around this time of year. 😩

MsBubbles85 · 13/12/2021 12:09

I have booked my booster for the 28th (I will be 14 weeks that day), I didn't noticed any changed to my cycles when I had the other doses but I have PCOS so they were not regular either.

RoseValleyRambles · 13/12/2021 12:15

Booster booked for tomorrow. I want to be as protected as possible, as fast as possible, but I also didn't have a bad reaction last time so it's an easier decision to make.

Week 12 is one day away ... So stoked to have made it this far!

EarlGreywithLemon · 13/12/2021 12:21

@Vimto1991, I my Pfizer booster at 8 weeks- no side effects except a sore arm.

Vimto1991 · 13/12/2021 12:23

Yeah this is my thought on wanting to make sure we are protected! The first time I had the jab I had a period a few days after which was around a day or so early - my periods are very few and far between so to get one a day before 4 weeks is shocking for me. Verdict is out on the next period I had after my second jab which was in September, as my period colour was brown and I had no cramps. I’ve been dated a week before that period and told it could have been implantation bleeding instead so may not have been affected by Pfizer at all the second time around!

My booster will be when I’m 15 weeks!

Congrats @RoseValleyRambles on 12 weeks and second trimester! Hope the booster doesn’t cause much discomfort. :)

@EarlGreywithLemon that’s really good to hear that it’s all gone well for you, gives me relief haha

GrowBabyGrow · 13/12/2021 13:10

I've got mine booked for on the 31st! Nice way to end the year haha. It was the earliest I could book at the one near me when I booked on Saturday and I don't want to risk losing the slot by cancelling it and moving it earlier.

I'm 12 weeks on Wednesday. Feels like such a big milestone to get to. My scan isn't until a week tomorrow though, feeling quite anxious about it like they will tell me there is nothing in there and I've been imagining it all. For those that have had their scan, did it help it feel real?

MsBubbles85 · 13/12/2021 13:23

Hi @GrowBabyGrow I had my scan last week but I am having another one on Wednesday as I was 11 week and it really helped to feel the pregnancy real! It was really lovely to see the little one moving around. My husband has been really reserved as he doesn't want to get hurt if anything happens and since then he is much more excited about it.

AlbatrossSociety · 13/12/2021 13:26

@GrowBabyGrow I had my scan last Thursday and had similar worries - all the way from 'what if there's no baby and all my symptoms have been in my head' and 'what if something's not right' to 'what if there are four babies!?'

The scan definitely massively helped it to feel real, I couldn't look away from the screen with the little Bean jumping around everywhere doing gymnastics. I was also actually quite overwhelmed after the scan and it took a couple of hours for me to start to relax and feel relieved and excited! I felt a bit guilty because I wasn't filled with relief and excitement straight away, I was kind of hit with the reality of 'oh my god so I am actually pregnant and there's actually a baby in there!!'. After that had sunk in a bit I started to feel really excited and relieved that all was okay.

Pandamama88 · 13/12/2021 13:55

16 week midwife appointment today. Got my pee harvested and ready to go. Anyone who has been pregnant before, what happens at the 16 week appointment? Not nervous just curious.

yellowpinkbluegreen · 13/12/2021 14:36

Hey everyone

Have had a letter in the post that I have low levels of PAPP-A and I'm freaking out.

Has anyone else had this?

I have an appointment with doctor booked for jan now but it's all out of the blue and wasn't expecting to get this letter?

If anyone could shed light I'd be super grateful!!

PeeAche · 13/12/2021 14:39

Hi @yellowpinkbluegreen try not to panic. I think this means you'll be consultant led and be asked to take low dose aspirin (sometimes called "baby aspirin") for the rest of your pregnancy.

I believe that the majority of women with low PAPP-A go on to have normal, healthy pregnancies.

Just broke my own 'one trimester at a time' rule and bought a cute maternity summer dress on vinted. That app is saving my bacon budget wise at the moment, but it's also a little addictive...

Anyone else bought things stupidly early? :D

Vimto1991 · 13/12/2021 17:23

@RoseValleyRambles
I outgrew clothes due to covid and genera laziness. Didn’t see the point buying new clothes so spent £100 on loads of maternity ones. 🙈

Anyone had the experience of throwing up and then spitting out a bit of red blood? Only a small amount and my throat is now super sore so maybe I tore something whilst throwing up? :( all my google searches lead to people throwing up blood, this was a tiny amount, though.

Journeylikenomother · 13/12/2021 18:52

Consultant visit and scan today. Baby wiggling and dancing around lots in there which was very amusing!

Discussed the covid booster with my consultant and she is v much encouraging me to get it so I'm getting boosted tomorrow.

Those of you on progesterone support will appreciate my excitement around this - I'm now weaning off the cyclogest bum bullets from today (woohoo) as well as the prolutex injections so by Christmas I'll be done with all that.

CurryandSnuggle · 13/12/2021 20:14

Gosh, I am with whoever said they feel more tired in second trimester! I’m 15+3 and knackered. Getting headaches as well but I think it’s exhaustion.

Anyone else feeling heavily pregnant already? My belly aches so much from stretching and I can hardly bend over for things like putting my shoes on now. Lol. If I feel like this now I dread to think how I’m going to feel in my third trimester!

My first pregnancy was definitely so much easier!!!

Re: covid jab. I am double jabbed but I am scared to get booster as after the second jab I had a bad fever and it made me even vomit. That was the Pfizer jab. I was so poorly!! Don’t want that when I’m pregnant but at the same time I don’t want Covid.

My risk should be minimal as I work from home and don’t socialise a huge amount, however I do have a DS in school

Vimto1991 · 13/12/2021 20:25

@CurryandSnuggle I’ve been getting migraines frequently rather than headaches, but definitley leaving me more drained. My morning sickness only kicked in second trimester as well so it’s not that glowing feeling people talk about. 😅 in terms of bending over, even getting off the sofa, I struggle, too! I have a little bump and I’m overweight anyway, I’m not sure if I’m just being over protective but feel like I can’t bend as far plus… ligament pain!!

I feel you with booster anxiety. My DH works as a manager in Tesco and during the Christmas period I’m worried he’d bring something home so getting it for that reason. 😩 my second jab made me feel awful, crossing my fingers it is as nice as my flu jab as that was minimal!

Dogmum5 · 13/12/2021 20:25

12 week scan today, all is well thankfully! Actually measuring 13weeks. Have a fibroid 7cm and if its not reduced by 20 week scan will need referred🙈

rathernotshare · 13/12/2021 21:16

Is anyone else around 15 weeks and in quite a lot of pain? It's quite high up, definitely higher than baby, so trying to figure out if it's stuff moving around or if it's my cyst. I'm seriously uncomfortable though, I can barely stand up straight. Sitting and standing is becoming ridiculously painful for this early on, but it's my first pregnancy so I'm not really sure....

RoseValleyRambles · 13/12/2021 21:25

@dogmum5 Welcome to fibroid club. I like to measure them in fruit, so you're a Seville orange, I think. I think I've got a couple of apples, a grapefruit, and perhaps an apricot or two...

Unless they're in a terrible place you might well be fine, they'll just want to check everyone's got enough room and the critical exit route isn't blocked by a rogue tangerine. All part of the pregnancy fun and games.

Sorry to be welcoming you to the membership...

RoseValleyRambles · 13/12/2021 21:26

@rathernotshare doesn't sound fun. I'm a month behind so can offer little help. Is your op this week?

Dogmum5 · 13/12/2021 21:31

@RoseValleyRambles oo thank you! I really dont know anything so handy to know someone who has a bit of knowledge. She said its not near my cervix but was shadowing baby's head to make the screening a bit difficult.
