Morning Everyone!

Can I ask - is anyone else experiencing a burning nipple sensation? For me this is happening during the night and I feel like my nipples are on fire. The morning sickness seems to have lessened for me but I would welcome it back in exchange for this pain.

@PeeAche Another lovely scan! Congrats!

@EarlGreywithLemon Thanks for letting me know about the advice being not to excercise until 6 weeks after birth. For me, this really is all signs pointing to postponement. If it means a lot less pressure on myself and more focus on the baby - this definitely sounds like the right thing to do. Thank you for your kind words.

@ALHCTPS It’s not the best starting point - I’m a UK16 and was aiming to get down to a UK14 - my workout routine was working as I was shedding the pounds. Great idea about speaking to my mum - I can’t believe I haven’t thought to ask her myself. Haha!

Crossing my fingers (or should that be toes!?) that my shoe size doesn’t increase. I’m already a size 7. That’s crazy about your friend’s rib cage - I didn’t realise massive changes to body structure were possible.

I really appreciate your advice! Wedding pressure and sleep deprivation definitely do not sound like a good mix!

Roxystar23 · 10/12/2021 08:13

@MrsTwentyNine Congrats!! 😊

CurryandSnuggle · 10/12/2021 08:34

@needarainbow yeah and I’ve literally no idea! I don’t have any gut feeling lol. Last time with DS I thought I was having a girl then they said boy so my brain won’t even go there this time lol

Bango2019 · 10/12/2021 09:03

@EarlGreywithLemon @CurryandSnuggle Thank you, ladies🌸I will defo speak to the consultant and do my in depth research before meeting and will decide what to do.

@rathernotshare oh I am with you on this🙂I was holding my vaccination due to the fear that I might not get pregnant and now I wish I have done it before. Yesterday, came across to the post on mumsnet called "Pregnant and vaccination" I think🤔, and it was reassuring as quite a few women that posted there had their 2 jabs during pregnancy and had their babies with no complications🙂Did you get your flu jab already? I haven't yet, but aware that I have to do it asap.

@Roxystar23 oh nipples, mine hurt like hell. Before yesterday it was only one nipple but it was so painful, it felt like an open wound😵‍💫

PeeAche · 10/12/2021 09:03

My DH thinks it's a boy because he saw "him" put his tiny balled up fist to "his" forehead on the scan. Which is apparently something my DH "used to do all the time"

Nb. I've known him for a very long time and I have never seen him do this.

🤦🏻‍♀️

I saw a few of you girls post about frequent headaches at this stage of pregnancy - anyone suffering with migraines? I’m on my third in three weeks, currently have a cooling eye gel mask and trying to avoid paracetamol Sad

PeeAche · 10/12/2021 09:08

Here's a fun and silly game for Friday morning 😅 ....

Combine your age at the time of conception with the number of the month you conceived and, if the resulting number is even, you're expecting a boy. If the number is odd, it's a girl.

I either conceived on Saturday 30th September or Friday 1st of October.... 😬😬😬

Bango2019 · 10/12/2021 09:09

@PeeAche 😂 well, he has a solid theory there and you cannot disprove it now.

Bango2019 · 10/12/2021 09:18

So many lovely scans on here😍Looking at these tiny miracles, just warms my heart 💜 Wishing everyone safe pregnancy and normal delivery🌸

rathernotshare · 10/12/2021 09:32

@Bango2019 I've not, I was going to have the flu jab after 12 weeks but now I'm having an operation on my ovary next week so I'm scared to do anything at all! If all goes well, I will probably have the flu jab in January

Bango2019 · 10/12/2021 09:47

@rathernotshare take your time, no rush. Good luck with your operation! Hope it goes well!🙂

RoseValleyRambles · 10/12/2021 10:01

@peeache girl here, then. :) The sonographer did say 'her' once at my last scan, so not sure if she spotted something or if they all just have a preferred default to avoid calling it 'it'

Prob going to do the blood test so we know what to expect.

Pandamama88 · 10/12/2021 10:03

So I'm feeling furious with my mother... So yesterday I was already in a bad mood and I was having a fairly bland WhatsApp conversation with my mum thinking it might calm me down. But she chose yesterday of all days to randomly start winding me up for no reason. She was going on about how I was going to be so busy when the baby comes and how I was going to wish I had a nanny like Mary Poppins. I said I would manage and said my husband is very supportive. Then I casually mentioned how I don't really like Mary Poppins and that it is one of my least favourite Disney's. Big mistake. She decided to prattle on about it, reference it and try to persuade me to rewatch it as I would change my mind. I tried to make it clear that I detest the film and she needs to drop it and stop winding me up. But she just kept pushing and pushing. I tried to warn her that's it's not a good idea to purposefully wind up a pregnant woman. But she kept denying she was doing anything to be a wind up, then continued to do exactly what I told her was winding me up. I should have just ended it there and stopped replying to her but as I mentioned before I was already in a bad mood and didn't want to drop it until she apologized. So on it went for about an hour and a half. Once I really got angry she spiralled into self pity denying it all and wondering why I hate her so much. It started out from something so stupid but she decided it would be better to gaslight me than to apologize and end the conversation. I ended up basically threatening her with her not seeing her granddaughter unless she apologized and showed some respect but she just became even more toxic. In hindsight I'm pretty sure she was drunk and I should know better than to get invested in such conversations. She probably won't even remember the conversation this morning but I'm still seething. It's not the first time we've had an argument like this but I thought she would know better than to wind up a pregnant woman.

PurpleMoon12 · 10/12/2021 10:05

If anyone wants to display their scan photos, amazon have a lovely frame with countdown numbers. Its pride of place in my living room and lovely to look at.

Also someone mentioned a few posts back about a free online baby workshop with the baby academy - the reviews seem great so I'd recommend taking a look at that. I've signed myself up!

@Roxystar23 pregnancy is the ‘gift that keeps giving’. I knew about the stretch marks and weight gain and tearing/stitches etc, but it blew my mind to learn your actual skeleton could change. Basically, everything moves to accommodate the baby and sometimes it doesn’t go back again. Trippy, huh?

Pandamama88 · 10/12/2021 11:44

Sorry for the rant, maybe I'm just hormonal but she was deliberately winding me up.

EarlGreywithLemon · 10/12/2021 11:59

@Pandamama88 I’m with you - and I hate Mary Poppins! I find it very upsetting and get annoyed when people try to convince me otherwise.

How funny! That works for our daughter (February- 37) and also for the current baby if the NIPT is right and he’s a boy (September, 39).
Prema112 · 10/12/2021 12:02

Welcome newcomers! It's been so very lovely seeing everyone's scan pictures pop up Smile Our blobs from a few weeks ago look like babies now!

I don't know if anyone can relate to how I'm feeling. I just want to go to sleep and wake up in June with my perfectly healthy newborn in my arms. I was not like this at all with my sons pregnancy but this one I've found so hard physically and emotionally. I feel constantly worried something will go wrong. Not wanting to wish my life away, just can't wait to hold my baby! Anyone else feel like this?

Pandamama88 · 10/12/2021 12:07

@EarlGreywithLemon Thank you!

Annabell1 · 10/12/2021 13:54

@needarainbow Yes, I'm thinking about telling them around Christmas as well.

@Pandamama88 So sorry to hear about the stress with your mum. Maybe she also had a bad day and I hope she didn't mean to upset you on purpose. Try not to stress about it. It's probably not worth it. Xx

I just found out that we are having a girl. 💕
Things suddenly start to become so real, even though we still have long way to go.
I was so convinced that it would be a boy. No idea why. 😅
So the nub theory was correct and @PeeAche your little calculation as well.
Xx
