Ps @rathernotshare so glad everything turned out fine, hoping for the same 🤞🏼 Xx

rathernotshare · 09/12/2021 12:32

@pregnancydiaries did they give you any indication you may be measuring behind? At
My first she said she couldn't give me an official date but that I was measuring as per my dates, a week later I did get put forward a couple of days. If not, maybe try calling the midwives? It's not your fault, they should be able to do something!

pregnancydiaries · 09/12/2021 12:34

Not at all, she put me a couple of days ahead @rathernotshare

What a nightmare I’m going to try calling the midwife number but I’m not sure they’ll be much help as they seem to be more a booking line than anything. Maybe I should try Early pregnancy…xxx

3yearstrying · 09/12/2021 12:35

Has anyone else been put forward for consultant led care instead of midwife? I presume its because ive had a miscarriage, or maybe because i was a smoker when i conceived? I guess i'll find out why on wednesday

EarlGreywithLemon · 09/12/2021 15:38

@3yearstrying I think I may be consultant led (heart condition) in the sense that I’ll have several consultant appointments later on, but I’m not sure. My next midwife appointment is 4 Jan and I’ll ask directly.

rathernotshare · 09/12/2021 15:56

@HWka was the anti d ok? I'm terrible with needles. Just been confirmed my baby is rhesus positive and I'm rhesus negative so I need to have it after my operation next week

mrkb · 09/12/2021 16:04

@ALHCTPS really interesting to know - I have a similar set up (with River Team) but do not have a contact number! I think if I had what you have then I'd be a bit happier as I know I'd be able to get hold of someone but I currently have to wait 3-5 days per email! Feels pointless even having that as an option!

unknownscot · 09/12/2021 16:12

I'm consultant led due to this being an IVF baby, but I also have a pacemaker so assume I would've been cons led regardless.

Just have my booster vaccine x

unknownscot · 09/12/2021 16:12

Long time lurker and first time poster, first (and very unexpected) pregnancy and had my dating scan today coming in at 14+6 with EDD of 3/06! Not too knowledgeable about the different theories but does this look like a boy nub??

I was consultant led care in my first pregnancy due to high BMI. To be honest I had a few appointments with them but still saw my midwife as usual. It meant I had to be monitored in labour on the proper delivery suite and not the midwife led suite. I've never had a baby on the midwife led suite so can't say much about the differences to be honest. I would be asking why you are consultant led as it may mean you can still be on the midwife led unit :) xx
Bango2019 · 09/12/2021 19:24

Hi everyone! Been lurking for the past 4 threads and did not have courage to post until today😬
We have lost our baby boy in 2019 on 21st week of pregnancy. Our loss put me in extreme fear of getting pregnant and I just could not get myself wanting to get pregnant again. Well, that eventually changed and now I am 14w2d with a EDD 7th June🙂Still freaking out at every appointments, like scans, bloods etc. I am really scared but trying to hold myself together.
I believe I am consultant led as well due to previous loss. I have high BMI and taking 150mg of aspirin a day. This week been booked for trans-vaginal scan of the cervix, again due to the previous loss. Hoping everything goes well.
For the past month been so tired and lethargic, with nausea, very bad sickness and low appetite.
My current problem is cold. It started at the end of last week, had very bad headache but luckily paracetamol eased the pain. I don't have temperature for now, only very very vile cough 😷 Done PCR and it's negative. I am afraid my loud and vile cough can somehow harm the baby. Pharmacy could not advice on any safe coughing syrup, only hot water with lemon and honey. Does anyone know any other way to tackle the cough as it's killing me, especially at night time😕Can't sleep more than couple of hours due to the cough.
Also, has anyone been postponing covid vax due to the pregnancy? Or getting it while pregnant? I want to wait until I am at least 25 weeks, but not sure how it will work out. Heard so many bad stories where women got their vaccinations and lost their babies🥺
Sorry for the long post. Hope everyone is doing okay🌸

Pandamama88 · 09/12/2021 19:46

@pregnantnurse314 Congratulations and welcome! Lovely scans. X No idea about how to tell gender from a scan. I know I'm having a girl because we sent away some blood to a gender analysis company. We have a name picked out now aswell.

Pandamama88 · 09/12/2021 19:59

@Bango2019 Sorry to hear about your previous loss that must have been tough 😞.

So happy for you to be joining us with your latest pregnancy.

Re Covid vaccines please try to look at overall data rather than individual anecdotes. There are always going to be women that happen to miscarry the week they get their vaccine even if it would have happened anyway. That's not to say we shouldn't be cautious but try to find some reputable information on it and make an informed decision from there. I had my booster at 14 weeks and all I got was a sore arm. But that again is just an anecdote of my experience. Do some research or ask a medical professional until you are reassured either way and make the best decision for you.

Bango2019 · 09/12/2021 20:10

@Pandamama88 thank you🌸
I agree with you on the research. I have done some research and it was almost convincing that it should not a problem. I even watched medical videos for dummies about vaccination and how it supposedly works😅but still not 100% convinced. Will speak to consultant on my 16w appointment and hopefully will make a decision then. Thanks🙂

TFranc · 09/12/2021 20:43

I am in exactly the same position! My first midwife appointment is next week on Wednesday (15th) but I will be 12 weeks pregnant on the Friday (17th!) And still no news on my first scan. I am concerned as I have been told I can't book the scan until my first midwife appointment!
Have you had your date through for your scan yet?
I have also got the Badger app so I have been checking daily!
Hope yours goes well Smile

EarlGreywithLemon · 09/12/2021 20:45

@Bango2019 welcome and so sorry about your loss. Great to have you here with us now!
Re the vaccine I gad my booster at 8 weeks. For me, the known and proven side effects of catching Covid on pregnant women and their unborn babies (from serious illness to the mother to miscarriage and still birth) vastly outweighed any concerns. My trust actually gives unvaccinated pregnant women the opportunity to have their vaccine then and there after their midwife or consultant appointments, and I’ve seen many women go and get theirs when I had my appointments.

CurryandSnuggle · 09/12/2021 20:46

@Bango2019 welcome! Smile I can understand your concerns. I think covid is a real risk at the moment, probably more than the vaccine. However if you’re double jabbed and not in a high risk group then you may prefer to hold off on the booster. Ultimately it’s your choice but I agree that looking at the overall data is better than individual anecdotes as those people may have lost their baby anyway.

rathernotshare · 09/12/2021 20:46

@Bango2019 so sorry to hear about your previous loss 💐 We are 1 day apart, due 8th June here! I have not had any jabs yet, I'd been putting it off as we were trying to get pregnant for so long I didn't want the period mess ups that were so common. Now I kind of wish I'd had it as I don't really want to get it while pregnant Confused it's such a minefield but I'm also in the 'lost' camp!!

TFranc · 09/12/2021 20:47

@BunBun221 Glad to hear I'm not the only one twinging haha. My friend had that particular problem in 2nd trimester. She called it vagina lightning Grin xx

@PleaseSendNoodles Aww it's definitely so scary but glad we're both through it now and fingers crossed for no more spotting! I am loving meeting you all - my due date buddies. It's so good to have people at the same stage in their pregnancy. We can all be clueless together Grin xx

@Annabell1 aww congrats on a great result from your test! I'm still waiting to hear about mine, although might be a little while longer as I only had my bloods taken on Wed. We've told some of my DH's family and our close friends. Waiting to see my family at Christmas so we can tell them face to face Smile xx

@PeeAche Oh I am exactly the same. Every night when I go to bed I'm happy to have gotten through another day without the other shoe dropping! My original date was the 23rd before my dating scan so we're probably much the same date! Wedding buddies as well Grin. My DH and I got married in October last year with just 20 guests in a venue that was meant for hundreds. Then we moved house 3 weeks later. Hope the big wedding party is everything you hoped for xx

PeeAche · 09/12/2021 23:16

Oh, I almost forgot! Had my (proper) scan today and baby was there, moving like crazy.

My pictures were awful because baby wouldn't get into position. But hey, it's something!

Oh, and in a matter of minutes my DH has gone from a "whatever" attitude to talking non stop about the baby.

It's actually starting to do my head in.

OP posts:
needarainbow · 09/12/2021 23:33

@PeeAche that's amazing congrats! Such a comfort to see them moving around. Mine was the same, very uncooperative during the scan and wanted to stay on his/her tummy.

They're so funny aren't they? If I had a pound for every time DH has asked me "so what do you feel, boy or girl?" my matty pay would be looking a lot better 😂 At least its nice yours is getting excited xx

CurryandSnuggle · 10/12/2021 07:03

@needarainbow lol my DH keeps asking me if I think I’m having a boy or girl too 😂
