Ive been suffering from the worst trapped wind ever. Used to get it once in a while before preg but got it today and its AWFUL. Confused

PleaseSendNoodles · 19/11/2021 02:11

Thanks for starting the new thread @PeeAche! I’m 5 hours behind the U.K. so always have tonnes to catch up on after work and when I wake up! Can’t believe we’re already on thread 4!

Congrats on your good news, @rosevalleyrambles - I typed this on the last thread but apparently failed to send 🤦🏼‍♀️

Gorgeous scan, @CurryandSnuggle! It’s amazing how 12 weeks looks so much more like a ‘baby’ than the scan I got at 9!

@DaimDillyDoo I’m so glad you said about the cringing thing! I’ve always thought I’m odd because I can’t imagine being excited to tell people. I just felt awkward and… maybe vulnerable? My parents and in laws were both excited but I found telling them excruciating. I guess maybe we don’t want a big fuss?

@Journeylikenomother welcome to the group. Like the others have said, I can’t begin to imagine how horrible it must have been to lose your daughter like that. I’m so so sorry. I hope the extra scans give you some extra reassurance x

Welcome to the other newbies, too!

Hello! Just joined the forum & wanted to join in!

I'm 30 & due my 2nd child after 11 years! Currently 8w+6.
Always adamant I wanted 1 child until this year. Stopped my pill in Sept & got a positive test in October!

I've had nausea which seems to have settled this week. Can't sleep! Usually wide awake by 4am after being unsettled all night. And mild spotting & cramping at 5w & then at 7-8w. Booking appointment/call is finally on Tuesday!

My first question is... is anyone else excessively weeing already!? My friend laughed when I told her and said get use to it (feel like I'm pregnant for the first time it's been that long!) But it's constant and didn't expect to be needing to rush to the loo this early on.

CurryandSnuggle · 19/11/2021 07:09

@Olive60 excessive seeing was one of the reasons I knew I was pregnant (along with implantation cramping and… ahem… an unusual amount of wind). I knew I was pregnant for 2 weeks before I even did the test. It’s the hormones at this stage that trigger frequent peeing.

CurryandSnuggle · 19/11/2021 07:10

*peeing, not seeing Grin

CurryandSnuggle · 19/11/2021 07:11

Also @Olive60 welcome to the group (I’ve just woken up so excuse my unintentional rudeness 😂)

3yearstrying · 19/11/2021 07:25

@jennixxx i am really bad at taking tablets, before pregnancy i couldnt even swallow paracetamol for a headache! There are pregnancy gummies you can buy, they are a bit pricey but saves the stress of trying to swallow a tabletSmile

@PeeAche i must admit i have completely forgotten my folic a couple times and panickedband the midwife said theres no harm in a couple missed. I think its better than too much daily in take just in case.
@DaimDillyDoo i am a wimp with bloods. They had to try both arms at my booking app as i think i tensed up so much they couldnt get enough from one armGrin drink lots of water and it should be over quick! I must admit my hospital are good they'll let me take off my mask with bloods because i feel faint too, just to get fresh air haha

pregnancydiaries · 19/11/2021 07:31

Welcome newbies!!!!

@PeeAche my HG has been particularly bad this week so I’ve been bringing up folic a lot. I read that you can take 800mg a day (my tablets are only 400) so I’ve made a wee rule that if I’m sick within 30 mins of taking it I take it again. When will this end?!?

@HopefulJ2018 how you holding up??xxx

rathernotshare · 19/11/2021 07:34

@DaimDillyDoo I also find it cringe! We're just going to write it in their Christmas card. We give them it face to face and they open it in front of us

Brightsmoke · 19/11/2021 08:09
@ALHCTPS 😂 I've been wondering if it would be out of the question to get the tube there. Everyone says first one takes forever, I'll just hop on the DLR... haha
My first took 50 hours, I could've walked to hospital 😂😂

pregnancydiaries · 19/11/2021 08:21

Anyone had gel nails done yet? Off and on? I’ve had the same set on since before I found out (I’m nearly 10 weeks now so they are reaaaaaaally bad), made an appointment but now para!!

rathernotshare · 19/11/2021 08:21

@pregnancydiaries I've had acrylics at least 3 times 😊

MrsNT · 19/11/2021 08:36

Has anyone had pedicure done? I read on google that certaim pessurepoints hsould be avoided o feet during massage .so im scared to get it done now

PeeAche · 19/11/2021 08:38

I don't have the nails but I have henna'd my hair without any issue.

I am 9 weeks pregnant and I have to keep saying it out loud!!

I can remember entering my booking appointment into my calendar and crying because it felt so pointless. Now, I'm actually going to get to attend mine on Tuesday!!! Then my scan on the 9th. I just can't believe it. I really can't believe it.

We kept trying and trying because I thought, it must happen some day, it must be possible. I would sit in meetings at work and look at all the people around me and think "you all started out as blastocysts... it can't be impossible, look at all the people in the world!"
But after all those years and the awful losses...

And yet here I am, here I am, here I am. I just can't believe it.

Pinch me!

🙈

To be fair, I do think some of my colleagues are still blastocysts. 🤷🏻‍♀️

wow! We're on page 3 of thread 4 already! I was trying to do some quick math to guess how many threads we'll have by June at this pace, but my brain won't collaborate.

Welcome to the new joiners!

By extrapolation, 12 threads. But this doesn't account for people becoming more or less chatty as the months go on....

Morning all! And welcome to the new faces :) I am currently trying to decide if brioche toast or cereal will make me feel less sick. What a start to the day.

Have some anti emetic pills from the doc, but going to give it a few more days before I give them a go as things feel like they're improving a little.

When does the 'glowing' bit arrive again? :D

rathernotshare · 19/11/2021 09:16

I'm livid realising the second trimester is meant to be the nice chill one but that's when I'll be having abdominal surgery. Basically my entire life is stress from now until forever! No nice little break for me ☹️

I can't begin to imagine how stressed out you must be at the moment. Thinking of you. What happens once they remove the cyst? Xxx
rathernotshare · 19/11/2021 09:55

@caz198917 2 weeks laid in bed I think! Which is majorly stressing me out (aside from the obvious) as I know I won't get a 2 week deadline extension at work. I think/hope they do additional monitoring for a few weeks to make sure the baby is ok.
I don't think the risk is very big but they can't give any stats because it's very much 'who's to say it wouldn't have happened anyway?'

RoseValleyRambles · 19/11/2021 09:55

@rathernotshare that sounds really daunting. I'm sorry you have it hanging over you.

I'm not sure if it's similar to your situation, but I had a large ovarian cyst taken out last year with a laparoscopy. It felt terrifying as it was my first proper 'op', but I was home three next day and back on my feet fairly quickly, other than some stonking shoulder twinges from trapped gas for a few days.

rathernotshare · 19/11/2021 10:06

@RoseValleyRambles that's exactly what's going on, they want to remove a 12cm cyst between 14-18 weeks as apparently that's the safest time. Just so scary thinking of them messing about in there with the baby. Also worried about side effects, I feel like a bag of crap without surgery at the moment 😔 I've had an op before but it was back when I lived with my parents and had no other responsibilities!

Swiftie85 · 19/11/2021 10:31

Hi all
Another longtime lurker here, had my booking appt yesterday so thought I’d take the plunge and say hello 👋🏼. I’m 9+1, first pregnancy, SE London based. I’m 36 so also in the geriatric club. First scan booked for 13 Dec: finding it really odd that no one actually checks you are pregnant until then. I keep thinking what if I read the test wrong lol! Nausea seems so have hit me like a truck these past couple of days- was anyone else relatively ok on the nausea front until week 8/9?!

Olive60 · 19/11/2021 10:44

Thank you for the welcome! Seems I need to get use to all these toilet trips then!

Can I ask aswell... Everyone's booking appointments... Are you seeing someone face to face? I was told mine is just a phone call. Also feels different to my last pregnancy 11 years ago. I'm sure I'd met the MW a couple of times by now.
