I'm the same, if it wasn't for the bump then I'd rather let everyone know from the delivery ward once baby was here!

3yearstrying · 19/11/2021 19:26

Only my mum and DH parents know right now, after the first scan i'll tell other family. Love seeing everyones scan pictures! Makes me excited but i also feel like all my symptoms are gone so also scared for the same result as last timeConfused

Iamhev · 19/11/2021 19:32

@3yearstrying I had convinced myself that I had miscarried this time round as woke up and all my symptoms had gone and I booked in for a scan convinced that was the end of this pregnancy. Even told the sonogropher to switch off the screen as i was so sure. All was absolutely fine though and I wish I had enjoyed the relief rather than spend it worrying as low and behold back they came a few days later with avengence!
It's so hard not to worry though when it has happened before, so totally understand.
Big hugs x

3yearstrying · 19/11/2021 19:42

@Iamhev thank you, i think im just in a constant anxiety attack at the moment. That has put my mind at rest a bit, i want to call the hospital and ask for a scan, i just know they must be so busy i hate the thought of wasting someones time! I may call tomorrow though and see what they can do x

Rolledthedice · 19/11/2021 20:22

Thank you all for the warm welcome! :)

@RoseValleyRambles it has indeed been an emotional few weeks getting to this stage but now I’m thankfully feeling settled and taking each day at a time.

@3yearstrying I’ve had mild symptoms the whole way through (mainly fatigue) but last week I just woke up feeling like my normal self again! So when I went for a 10 week scan yesterday, I was half expecting nothing to be there - but it was all good and really quite magical seeing the bean chilling on the screen. I think all our bodies are just so different and the stats we hear can never truly represent all that diversity across women. If it’s causing you constant anxiety then giving the hospital a call sounds like a sensible idea. I’m sure they would rather you called them than suffered in silence.

beansprout55 · 19/11/2021 21:37

Thanks ladies - your sympathy has weirdly made me feel better, will try to take on your advice and not expect much therefore not be open to hurt!

@PeeAche I feel your pain re SIL, especially the social media wonder mum facade... I came off Facebook a couple of years back so I don't have to deal with that.
My SIL is more the passive aggressive kind "congratulations on tying the knot, however we were very disappointed you did it in the way you did as the girls have always wanted to be bridesmaids and will likely never get the chance. My own SIL did this to us and we found it hurtful. Anyway, Love xxxx"

THAT was our wedding card. So hard to stoop to her level, this was 7 months ago and I still think of come backs when I'm ranting in my head, like an actual child.

PeeAche · 19/11/2021 21:51

They say you can't pick family. But my brother picked this one. So I blame him 100% 😂😂😂

I asked this yesterday but I gotta ask again - rock hard upper stomach? Anyone else?

Could your uterus be rising? I find this concept hilarious, as if it levitates itself up into the body in some sort of transcendent moment.

If I ever start a band, I shall call it "Uterus Rising".

PleaseSendNoodles · 20/11/2021 00:10

Oh god. I’m trying not to freak out but I haven’t had any bleeding previously… sorry for the TMI but I just had thick red-brown discharge. Like.. consistency of a paste? I don’t know what this means but now I’ve gone from finally chill to TERRIFIED. Has anyone else had this? I figure you’re probably all asleep now. Sorry for the ramble.

laurenGame · 20/11/2021 05:09

@3yearstrying

Sorry for the TMI ladies, but has anyone had increased discharge? I wear a liner every day now as its gone mad! I had BV treated in the first few weeks of pregnancy and now im worried i'll keep getting it and i dont know why :( i dont use fragranced washes or anything so my PH down there isnt off, but apparently it can just be yet another joy of pregnancy symptoms? Help!
I got BV as well and taking antibiotics too. I was spotting for two weeks. I wouldn't use a liner as it's waterproof so the plastic lining will stop air going into your vagina, and you need some ventilation.

I use toilet paper instead of a liner, as at least it lets some air through. Also wear cotton underwear and I try to wear dresses and no underwear at home. Hope yours shifts soon x

@Prema112

Congrats *@AmICrazy36*!!

I've just been for my first swim since learning I was pregnant (I was surfing before I knew Grin) I would highly recommend swimming when you feel up to it, I felt so good in the water! All the aches melted away and I didn't feel sick! Felt sick as soon as I got out but still, was great!

Hello fellow surfer! 👋🏻 is swim ok for us? I did a swim but then I got BV (don't think it's related) so now I'm confused if it's allowed? Although it's ocean water so very antiseptic?
laurenGame · 20/11/2021 05:17

@PleaseSendNoodles sorry I'm not ignoring you, responded to you on July thread you'll see it when you wake up 💖

CurryandSnuggle · 20/11/2021 07:29

@PeeAche oh god I can’t stand the mumfluencers that make themselves look really amazing while never interacting with their children!!! There’s more to life than an Instagram feed. Jeez.

@Iamhev with our first born we got people baubles with their relationship on it (e.g one said “best nan and grandad”) and wrapped it for Christmas. This time we bought our son a t-shirt to west saying “I’m going to be a big brother”. 😁

CurryandSnuggle · 20/11/2021 07:34

@PeeAche @RoseValleyRambles I agree, it’s the uterus rising. Mine is solid and seems to have risen; I’m showing now quite a lot! I’m only 12 weeks for goodness sake!!

CurryandSnuggle · 20/11/2021 07:36

(I swear typing first thing in the morning always leads to a number of corrections by me 😂😂😂 *t-shirt to wear
And a smiley face! * Grin not a grumpy one hahaha)

Anyway!!!

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 07:54

Morning ladies!

@PleaseSendNoodles So sorry you're spotting, I know how stressful it is I've spotted Ona bf off since 5 weeks. Is it still going? I'd probs try to get a scan for peace of mind but it's probably nothing, so many stories of babies being absolutely fine with spotting xx

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 07:55

Ladies who have had cramps- are you still getting them? How long do they last? How bad? I had really low back cramps last night which kept me awake and I found it really worrying... They are still with me a bit this morning Sad

RoseValleyRambles · 20/11/2021 07:57

@pleasesendmoodles I looked at the stars yesterday and apparently one in four women will get some bleeding, often unproblematic. Dark bloods is old blood so they worry less. But I'd let them know as they may offer a check in. Hang on in there. X

RoseValleyRambles · 20/11/2021 07:58

Hah! *Stats!

unknownscot · 20/11/2021 08:00

@Prema112
I was just coming on here to ask about cramping. Yesterday and this morning I've had awful cramps. Right down low though 🤷🏽‍♀️
X

Journeylikenomother · 20/11/2021 08:35

@Prema112 I'm still getting cramps too. Mine are mostly on my right side and in the evening. I use it as my excuse to lie stretched out on the sofa (sorry hubbie!).

Iamhev · 20/11/2021 08:44

@Prema112 I've also had cramping, felt like my period was coming at times. Everything I've read about cramping suggests that it's perfectly normal and it's your uterus making room.

I had a new sysmptom rear it's ugly head early this morning from 1am to 3am ... heartburn! I've never had it before and wow its uncomfortable. Reading on the Rennie website you can take their heartburn medication no problem when pregnant but then there's always that big star that tells you to check with your doctor any medication when preggers. Getting hold of my doctor to ask would be a fine thing!

Has anyone else taken anything for heartburn, I asume I'm OK to pop to Boots and pick up some Rennie to take if it comes back?
X

Unarosaes · 20/11/2021 08:47

I think someone mentioned Gaviscon as well.

pregnancydiaries · 20/11/2021 08:49

@Iamhev most people I know that have been pregnant have talked about literally drinking bottles of gaviscon, think you’re all good!!
