@laurenGame sorry to hear you've been feeling shit!
I don't want to worry you but have you taken a covid test? I think headaches, fatigue & sickness is looking like a symptom now.... Although they are also a symptom of pregnancy so who knows!

Hopefully the spotting may have been from trying to strain too hard on the toilet? Only thing i can think of is a warm bath to help that end.
TMI but my 1 nephew used to hold in his poo until he became constipated but his parents found he would poo in the bath. Apparently it is a thing... I know pretty grim but desperate measures!

Thank you @CaptainCarp 🤍
Covid test is a good point - I did think of that myself. Thankfully I feel better today ! Also we have zero antigen tests in pharmacies in Australia - it's a bit of madness over here. Will wait for more stock

Saw OB and and bub is well and moving loads! He said bleeding is likely to be from sex. Jeez just another thing for me to be wary of!😂

missv556 · 05/01/2022 08:22

Thanks for everyone that suggested kids toothbrush/paste. I will get myself to the shops later and get some.

For the first time since finding out I was pregnant I have slept for a full 8 hours 🙌🏾 I'd still be asleep now probably if fiancé's alarm didn't go off. Waking up at nearly 8am instead of the usual 5am felt like a massive win. I'm hoping it's the start of getting my regular sleep pattern back on track 🤞🏾 also made it through the evening without my usual nap so possibly my symptoms are easing up now my first trimester is nearly over?

Has anyone had a high NT result at 12 week scan? Had a high result yesterday and have been told to expect a phone call today 🙁

Hope3821 · 05/01/2022 09:53

Hi All, 12 weeks today and 1 more week before my booking scan. Eeks.

Is anyone struggling with hip stiffness/soreness at night? I've taken all the online advice to sleep on my left side, but I'm waking up with the sorest stiffest hip on my left - it normally only happens when I go camping. I try to give myself 5 minutes on my right to take the pressure off, but I try not to fall asleep in the wrong position. I've no bother with my hips during the day. On top of that I'm having mad dreams, already about giving birth.

Effram · 05/01/2022 10:30

@Hope3821 the sleep on side advice is from 3rd trimester so I would make hte most of sleeping however you feel most comfortable right now - I have been doing as much tummy sleeping as possible as I always miss it so much later, it's just starting to get uncomfortable now! but I would really recommend a pregnancy pillow anyway as it just really helps - I've found you need to be propped up so that you can fully relax your body and that really reduces the stiffness and ashiness. A bit of yoga can help too!

@LaurenGame
glad you had some reassurance about the bleeding, but sorry you've been feeling poorly. Constipation is so common... I tend towards it normally and pregnancy definitely makes it worse. I'm sure you are but when I was on lots of fibre supplements I really had to drink EVEN MORE water than I thought possible to help them, so I just felt like I was constantly drinking but that did help, along with being careful about which fruit and veg I ate - pulses, lettuce, apples tended to really help so I piled them on.

@HoneyPea Sorry you're having this worry, hope they call soon and can get you sorted and reassured. Hopefully it's just overcautious measuring! in my trust if there is a high measure they offer the NIPT test to check everything which is just a blood test from mum, but I know some places it would be amniocentesis.

I am still to tell my work and am putting it off as long as possible as I feel irrationally scared of telling them even though my manager had 3 mat leaves in 5 years!

Capricorn8990 · 05/01/2022 11:33

@HoneyPea sending you love and hope the phone call goes well xx

kelsn96 · 05/01/2022 12:21

Hi all! Please can someone help me! I paid privately for a NIPT test package which came in the post before Xmas. I'm really struggling on where to go to have my bloods taken to send off to the labs. Can anyone point me in the right direction where I can go to have my bloods taken to send off to a third party??

Had a phone call saying I have a consultant scan on 24th Jan. Seems so far away 🙁

I have a bbhugme (that I bought pre pregnancy for a shoulder injury). It’s really amazing. I got it second hand on eBay for half the retail price. Also congratulations and welcome!
CaptainCarp · 05/01/2022 14:02

@laurenGame glad you've been to see the OB & been reassured that baby is OK!
We also have a shortage of Lateral flow/antigen tests in the UK. People have been haranguing the government about it but maybe its not just their incompetence for once.

@Hope3821 i had hip issue when sleeping just before Christmas when i was 12weeks! I assumed it was because our mattress is getting a bit old but it seems to have faded off now mostly.. I wonder if some of the muscles etc are "stretching" & cause pressure points.

@Jaydexo welcome! Good luck for your scan today. Hopefully you get a nice clear photo!

@HoneyPea fingers crossed everything is OK for you.

Hope3821 · 05/01/2022 14:27

@Effram that's such a great help thank you so much, everything online is so general, it's hard to know what to do and when. I've also been freaking out about my recliner couch and trying to sit up straight with cushions the whole time and giving myself a sore bum lol! A lot of the time Google search is not useful and just sends you loopy, thank goodness for this forum. Starting pre-natal yoga in 2 weeks, I can't wait to get stretching and moving. My dance classes also start back next week, I'm so excited!

Hope3821 · 05/01/2022 14:30

@captaincarp Thanks so much, I had wondered this too because when I stand up too fast from sitting I get little stretchy cramps in my abdomen for a small second. I think the muscles & ligaments are at that relaxing stage, so probably making the hips a little less stable or something

CaptainCarp · 05/01/2022 16:05

@Hope3821 yes i got those to! Not going to lie i got a bit worried when it first happened.
I do get random sharp pains above my hip but I've had them for years & i think it's when I've scrunched myself up sitting. Or if i get up really fast.

Is this bump or bloat? It's everyday looking like this so I'm leaning towards bump especially at the bottom but it's my first pregnancy so I know it can take longer for the bump to really show.. I'll be 14 weeks Friday x
