Hi All, first time poster! Between 12 and 13 weeks pregnant so due mid July, 2nd child. No serious complaints, tender breasts, nausea and insomnia at night (need a nap during the day!).

Just beginning to tell people now, haven’t told work yet. Don’t know why but I’m a bit nervous about it. Same company but different department to last pregnancy and had just started there at the time so not much to hand over- bit different this time around!! Is it acceptable these days to put it on Facebook? Our world is a bit smaller these days between being busy with our first and everything being locked down where we are so I doubt we’ll be able to let more distant friends know in person within a reasonable amount of time.

Have my booster shot booked for 10 days time, anyone have any thoughts about this? I’m hesitant but can’t see another way around it. Also wary of what I can say to unvaccinated friends when the baby comes along.

SamanthaVimes · 31/12/2021 11:46

@MollyRover I’ve got my booster booked for next weekend. I wanted to get past 12 weeks before I had it (not that I think it will really make any difference but some of the scaremongering has clearly worked it’s way into my brain! I had my flu jab at about 7 weeks without a second thought)

Lianna93 · 31/12/2021 12:47

@missv556 The feeling of love is honestly overwhelming - completely get what you're saying. I'm forever rubbing & holding my stomach, I can't wait for them to feel me & react to me 🥺

No plans for tonight, was working the past 2 days, off tonight then back in for 4 as of tomorrow 😴 Hope you have a lovely night!

@MollyRover I got my booster during my TWW and then 2 members caught covid when I was about 5/6 weeks pregnant. Both were fine but testing positive. I was very poorly but testing negative (so probably a bad cold I caught) but baby has grown exactly as they should have & is very healthy 🥰

MollyRover · 31/12/2021 14:03

Thanks both of you! My mind knows I'm doing the right thing but still a bit annoyed that TTC was put off until after I'd had both shots and I have to get another shot anyway. My body just wants to be left alone to concentrate on growing a person Wink.

missv556 · 31/12/2021 14:08

@SamanthaVimes I was exactly the same as you wanting to get past 12 weeks. Going for my booster on Monday

Happy New Year everyone I'm 10+2 same sex relationship conceived through IVF. Have found things quite difficult physically and emotionally (though I know it could be a lot worse!) and looking forward to the famed second trimester!!

Capricorn8990 · 31/12/2021 18:42

@katoglet welcome! Awesome - I love that same sex couples are able to have babies of their own through IVF or surrogacy ❤️. Don't be hard on yourself I wrote this today xx

Hi @katoglet, I'm 10+2 today too, and also counting down the days to second trimester :) I'd love to think the next few months will be easier physically and emotionally but have a feeling it might be more of the same. Will cross fingers fror some reprieve for you!
WotsitMum · 31/12/2021 19:10

Scan went well today, estamated due date of 12th July, anterior placenta again, last pregancy it did move so fingers crossed 🤞

Ive not decided on weather im going to have the booster yet or not, im swaying towards not to get it, my previous pregnancy i found out the week before the first lockdown, didnt shield at all, worked in hospitality serving customers up till the day before i was induced and there was no vaccine about then.

UncomfortableBadger · 31/12/2021 19:32

@MollyRover No, not just you that’s worrying - I have my booster booked for next week but I am anxious.

My previous two pre-pregnancy Pfizer jabs caused my normally “like clockwork” cycle to become completely wonky. I had terrible cramps and bled, scarily heavily, for weeks after each jab, despite the fact that my period had finished just days before. I’m genuinely surprised that I managed to fall pregnant as my cycles became completely non-sensical for months afterwards.

I’ve pored over academic articles and the risk of spontaneous miscarriage post-vaccine seems to reduce drastically at 14-15 weeks, so I’ve booked mine for then (but of course that’s the point at which non-vaccine related spontaneous miscarriage reduces significantly anyway). I’ve spoken to an immunologist who has reassured me that the risks are far, far outweighed by the benefits but given my own experience, I’m so anxious about doing something to compromise the pregnancy.

Happy new year ladies! Its offically the year we will have our babies❤ anyone manage to stay up? I fell asleep but my LO woke up at ten to midnight so put bbc on to watch the fireworks, now got to get him back to sleep, hoping this may mean extra sleep in the morning 🤞

missv556 · 01/01/2022 08:46

Happy New year!!! I actually managed to stay awake for the entire night. Toasted (with a non alcoholic cocktail) to the fact that I can now say my alien is due this year 🥳 and I'm 12 weeks today. Made it. Longest few weeks of my life lol here's to 2022, may we all have a good year and happy, healthy pregnancies and babies 🙏🏾❤

Lianna93 · 01/01/2022 09:30

Happy new year lovelies!
A somewhat uneventful Hogmanay for me but managed to the bells 😂 Working today but looking forward to my steak pie later! (Assuming I can eat!) 😂

Slightly terrifying thought that in the summer there will be a baby. A real one. Aaaargh
annie1994 · 01/01/2022 13:04

Happy new year everyone! I managed to stay awake till just after midnight then straight to bed 😂 glad I don’t have to deal with a hangover today!!

Lianna93 · 01/01/2022 15:02

Caved & booked a gender scan for 3 weeks time 🙈 Everyone at my work keeps telling me I'm having a girl & now the not knowing is killing me 😂 Though, I'm convinced boy!

Anyone else finding out gender?

annie1994 · 01/01/2022 16:14

@Lianna93 two weeks today and I found out the gender of my little bean 🥰 it’s expensive but I’m just too impatient to not know!

DrPrincessFluffyToYou · 01/01/2022 16:57

@Lianna93 I found out! I took the materniT21 genome test (like the harmony test but slightly more extensive - looks for microdeletions as well as classic chromosomal abnormalities) and found out last week that I’ll be having a girl Smile

Firsttimemum38 · 01/01/2022 18:27

Hi posting for the first time on this thread. I'm currently 10 weeks and had 2 early scans as they found two sacks at 6 + 3. One was developing well with heartbeat. One had a yolk sac and could've been a few days behind as it was clear it was two eggs.

We went back at 8 weeks and one was growing well and had a heartbeat, the other didn't develop and is a vanishing twin. It was dated at 8 +3 which works with when I thought I ovulated. Now at 10 weeks I'm not feeling sick as much, but boobs still tender, bad bloating and gas but im worried as I miscarried last year. Does anyone else experience any loss of symptoms and worry that everything is still ok.

We told close family and friends as we'd had two scans with heartbeats both times. Is this worth just normal?

HopefulBeth · 01/01/2022 18:51

@Lianna93 I have a gender scan booked for 14th! I wasn't going to find out but my grandma is 88 and desperate to start knitting so we're finding out for her really 💕 I think we're both due the 5th? When is your gender scan? I'll be 15+3 and they say they can do it from 15 weeks but I'm pretty sure it'll be too early and I'll have to go back at a later date since baby has been in an awkward position on previous scans but we'll see!

Capricorn8990 · 01/01/2022 19:17

Happy new year all ❤️ ✨

@Firsttimemum38 welcome to the thread! I'm sorry about what you've gone through. I'm glad that you've been reassured to see the developing one.

Just to reassure you my sickness fluctuated a lot but it would often come back. My boobs were sore and I had bloating like you. It's hard not to worry due to past experiences but it's really normal for things to fluctuate. I had scans at the same dates as you too and I'm now 13+1 x

Capricorn8990 · 01/01/2022 19:18

@Lianna93 I've also booked a gender scan and I'll be 17 + 5. I'm too impatient too haha x

Capricorn8990 · 01/01/2022 19:20

Correction I'll be 16+5! X

Firsttimemum38 · 01/01/2022 19:24

Thanks @Capricorn8990 it's just such an anxious time isn't it and don't quite believe it's happening if you don't see or feel anything!

Im not feeling super exhausted, but that's maybe because I've been able to lie in!
