I had my 12 week scan today, measured at 12+5 which gives me a due date of 12th July! Got to see the little bean wriggling around which was lovely

WotsitMum · 02/01/2022 17:15

Im suffering with migranes, currently on day 3! The forehead cooling strips are a life saver! I have to have a caffinated drink every day, if i dont ill get a migrane, 200mg of caffine is safe in pregnancy

MollyRover · 02/01/2022 19:02

SamanthaVines same due date!

I've had headaches on and off too but definitely think it's tied to my sleeping patterns. If I sleep well I'm ok but if not I get a headache. Hopefully with the routine back to normal after Christmas I'll be getting back into a pattern where I'm eating at normal times, less socializing/ entertaining and when the swimming pool opens again I'll have less of a problem.

And definitely f*ck COVID. We're testing twice a week with every sniffle, so annoying.

Lianna93 · 02/01/2022 19:06

I've been getting headaches almost on the daily but I've been getting a lot warmer recently too. Kool n soothes have been my absolute life saver.

HatHatHat · 02/01/2022 19:47

@WotsitMum @MollyRover @Lianna93 thanks for sharing this with me, reassuring to know it’s not just me - I’ve also been overheating and sleeping badly. I hope you all fell better soon. Going to invest in some Kool n soothes!!!

Capricorn8990 · 03/01/2022 10:36

I've just tested positive on a lateral flow for covid it's very faint and I don't feel too bad - touch wood.. did a PCR which we were sent previously.

I've contacted my midwife team.

I'm so worried about the impact this may have on my baby 😞 I've been so careful!

heya101 · 03/01/2022 11:07

@Capricorn8990 Try not to worry if you’re vaxxed! I had it through Christmas and it was just like having a bad cold for a couple of days, no big deal at all. I’m sure you’ll both be fine! Rest up and have lots of water.

Capricorn8990 · 03/01/2022 12:03

@heya101 I'm singled vaccinated at the moment but my midwife said I'm technically double jabbed as I had covid in august. Was due my second one this month but will have to wait if I do have covid (pending PCR results). Thank you very much xx

Coco9910 · 03/01/2022 12:17

@Capricorn8990 hope you feel okay! I have covid at the minute and I think it’s only a concern if we get a temperature. Try to relax and stay hydrated. Hoping it passes quickly for you 💕

Capricorn8990 · 03/01/2022 12:19

@Coco9910 how're you feeling lovely? It's reassuring to know someone else has it that's pregnant but I wish we didn't! I will keep hydrated and eating little and often xx

HoneyPea · 03/01/2022 16:12

@Capricorn8990 and @Coco9910 Hope you are both feeling ok? Do you have oxy meters at home so you can check your oxygen levels don't dip too much?
@HatHatHat I have had bad migraines the last 2 weeks (around 13+4 I think- find out at dating scan tomorrow) leading to projectile vomiting throughout the night Confused I started to get one last night and straight away took 2 paracetamol and went to bed in a dark room with a cool forehead strip on (first time I've used one) and it didn't lead to me vomiting so 🤞🏻 I've found something that helps! I haven't had a migraine since I had covid last December and before that it was around 14-16 weeks in my previous pregnancy with my son (also around Christmas time). Mine is deff linked to stress as I used to have them a lot when I worked with a difficult college a few years ago.
Hope everyone else is doing well?

WotsitMum · 03/01/2022 16:48

Anyone else feeling constantly run down, i remember feeling like crap my last pregnancy but not this bad! I feel like i never have energy to do anything and that im just surviving at life and not enjoying living life. Ive had a cough since mid december, done lots of pcr and latreal flows daily all negative, went to the doctors and they gave me a cource of antibiotics but the last one is tonight and i still have a very bad cough thats keeping me up at night and never have any energy! Im also having a crap time at work at the moment, crying the whole way to work because i dont want to be there but i feel trapped as i need the maternity pay😩

Capricorn8990 · 03/01/2022 16:51

@HoneyPea heya! I feel like I've just got a bit of a cold really, not like how unwell I was in august when I had the delta variant (I think). Yep I bought one from Amazon so I've been using that daily and taking my temperature x

Coco9910 · 03/01/2022 16:59

@Capricorn8990 I feel okay thank you! I just feel super tired and have had a bit of a headache. Hard to know what’s covid related and what’s pregnancy related 😂 I’m on day 5 today so will do a lateral flow the next two days and hope they are negative so I can leave isolation!

@HoneyPea thank you! When I rang the maternity unit they just said to call if I felt unwell and to discuss when I could have my booster. They only mentioned checking oxygen levels for over 16 weeks - didn’t think to check Amazon for one! I will have a look now :)

MittensForKittens123 · 03/01/2022 17:06

@Capricorn8990 and @Coco9910 sorry to hear about the covid, I’ve not had it, but my advice would be to ask whoever is cooking for you to give you lots of snacks as well. It’s what I did when DH had it, and he only lost a couple of kgs in weight. (Also if you are anything like my DH try and stay off ordering random crap on the internet to pass the time Grin)

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow, and I’m a little nervous, but I have no idea why! What actually happens at the booking in appointment?

HoneyPea · 03/01/2022 17:08

@Coco9910 I'm asthmatic and had to go to hospital when I had it last December. Having the oxy meter really helped me when I was at my worst and struggling to breathe as I knew if I was getting enough oxygen or if I needed to go back to A&E. Mine was fairly cheap off Amazon.

Capricorn8990 · 03/01/2022 17:42

@Coco9910 I'm glad you're feeling okay! Oddly enough I've had a headache and felt super tired too. It's all jumbled together with the pregnancy symptoms isn't it 🤣. Hopefully you test negative 🤞🏼 x

@MittensForKittens123 good idea! I've been eating little and often and having lucozade for energy. Just had carbonara which was lush. Hoping I don't lose any more weight as I've already lost a bit cos of sickness x

Coco9910 · 03/01/2022 17:56

@MittensForKittens123 unfortunately both me and my partner have it so we are both looking after each other 😂 there has been plenty of snacks! I’m thankful I have been okay and haven’t lost my appetite. I had my booking appointment a couple of weeks ago and I was so nervous! Mainly for the blood test but it was absolutely fine. They asked a load of questions about my medical history as well as my families, and also my partners. They did height, weight and blood pressure. Did a urine sample also. That was mainly it. I was there almost 2 hours but it was a lot of waiting too. Hope it goes well for you tomorrow :)

@HoneyPea oh no sorry you ended up in hospital! I am going to order one of those machines tomorrow if I’m still testing positive. Guess it will be quite handy to have!

@Capricorn8990 it’s so difficult to know what’s what 😂 I’m blaming the headache on covid and the fatigue on being pregnant 🤷🏼‍♀️ Hope you are feeling better soon! x

missv556 · 03/01/2022 19:11

I had my booster today. My arm isn't even that sore tbh.

I went looking at baby stuff again at the shops. It's so difficult to buy clothes when you don't know the gender. Lots of stuff is kinda gender specific

SamanthaVimes · 03/01/2022 20:11

@missv556 I specifically looked for gender neutral stuff with my first as
a) we didn’t know the sex
b) I wanted to be able to reuse it with future dc regardless of gender
I agree it’s a bit tricky to find though!
I got some decent stuff from M&S, Asda, sainsburys and John Lewis though, you just have to look a bit harder. Often the more neutral stuff is included as “boys” (because girls obviously implode if you put them in anything other than pink Hmm)

katoglet · 03/01/2022 21:54

Amazing that we have the same due date! I think it will get back - fingers crossed for you tooSmile

aimeeeleanor · 04/01/2022 05:58

Hello you lovely lot

I’m hoping somebody may have some pearls of wisdom for me in regards to the following….

I’m 12 weeks pregnant today (due 19th july) & have been suffering with constipation (on top of nausea & sickness) since 6 weeks. The joys!

However (TMI to follow i’m so sorry) for the past several hours I have been on & off the toilet trying to birth a humongous poop but IT’S STUCK! I’m literally sat on the toilet going “GET OUT OF MEEEE” & nothing

I’ve managed to pass the smallest little chunks by aiding it with my fingers (bork) pressing on the area & knocking the tip off as it pokes out, like some sort of sadistic whack-a-mole. But there’s a tonne left up there, taunting me as it retreats back into hibernation!

First question - anybody else experienced this? Where the poop is literally just STUCK at the entrance?!
Second question - how long did it take for it to come out
Third question - what can i do to ‘induce labour’ so to speak, of this monster. I am so uncomfortable!

Thank you

Linkoln · 04/01/2022 10:53

Hello.

Sorry, me again. Not sure if this is a here question, or if someone can direct me elsewhere.
My bloods came back. Low risk for the three conditions, BUT showing under the threshold for PAPP-A. I'm .38 and threshold is .41

It's my first pregnancy to make it past 8weeks, so I'm already on edge a smidge.
That midwife has been super reassuring. I have to take aspirin, have extra scans and will be consultant led as I was already under monitoring for pre eclampsia anyway due to maternal history of it

Any one else had this, either with this one or a prior pregnancy. Was it all OK

Lianna93 · 04/01/2022 10:54

@aimeeeleanor I suffered badly in the early days of my pregnancy - very similar experiences to yourself.
If you have a step up/stool use that to place your feet on to help keep you straight, that'll help promote movement rather than being all hunched over.
Another thing you could try is stool softener - believe you can get this over the counter 🙂
Good luck 🤞🏻

Im probably late but would recommend a coffee and a step for your feet so its like a 'squattie pottie' best of luck with the monster 😂
