I've been falling asleep at about 8pm and then being wide awake at 2am unable to get back to sleep for a good hour or two 😭

Marden11302 · 09/11/2021 20:20

Haven’t really posted on here since I found out, but I’ve got my 12 week scan tomorrow and I’m absolutely bricking it 😬😬 I’m so nervous

hwp22 · 09/11/2021 20:30

@GinnyBee thanks for the new thread I’ve been looking at the old one thinking there had been no updates for a few days! Lol!
@Minster2012 got my scan Thursday as well and am very anxious that all will be ok - feels like it’s taking forever to arrive.
My nausea has really improved this week as just as I was starting to feel human again I've been struck down with this awful cold that’s doing the rounds! Can’t breath through my nose at all so feeling very sleep deprived and generally just to totally pants.
I’ve also been suffering a bit with waking in the middle of the night and struggling to get back to sleep!
Good luck to @robyna and @fejkalove for scans tomorrow can’t wait to see some pics!

Minster2012 · 09/11/2021 20:38

Thanks @fejkalove, really looking forwards to adding our scan pics to the bunch! And whoop for a scan day Buddy @hwp22 🙌🏻

cloudpopbump · 09/11/2021 21:37

Hey, I had my 12 week scan recently and my due date was bought forward by 5 days. Just curious, has anyone who tracked their ovulation etc had their due date moved back rather than forward? (Hope I've said that the right way round!)

Sickness still horrendous. Had a trip to hospital with it. Signed off work and unable to do pretty much anything other than stay still in bed.

I can feel some kicks though! I know it's very early but I was the same last time. End goals right!!

Sarah239 · 09/11/2021 21:46

I am definitely in the "waking up early, can't get back to sleep" club!

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 10/11/2021 02:38

@hwp22 I've only just got over a chest infection and now I've also been struck down with a cold 🤧 I never used to get ill but since I've been pregnant I've picked up every little thing!

Luckily my sickness seems to be improving though which is nice.

Also the insomnia is well and truly here as it's 2.30am and I'm wide awake 😣

TashieWoo · 10/11/2021 07:23

I’m panicking now as since Sunday I’ve had a stomach bug or food poisoning (can’t tell what it is) - diarrhoea, chills, stomach cramps, feeling generally unwell. I feel a bit better this morning but I’ve lost a kilo. I’m having plenty of fluids and eating bland food but I can’t keep it up (sorry TMI).

On Saturday evening I had a takeaway curry with DP, my food was vegetarian but we shared a couple of dishes and he was fine. I had a couple of bits of paneer cheese but apparently that is made with pasteurised milk. On the Sunday I had a couple of cold onion bhajis, they had been kept in an airtight container.

I’m just so scared of listeriosis. I also think I could have picked up a bug as I am very run down at the moment, and on Saturday I had some bad news about my grandma and she had to have surgery on Sunday (fortunately came through it) so I was very worried and didn’t sleep etc. Stress like that will often give me cold symptoms and chills.

My stomach was ok on the Sunday but on Monday and yesterday I had cramps and trapped wind. Yesterday and this morning I had bad diarrhoea but I feel a bit better now. I’ve had chills since Sunday to yesterday evening but they seem to have gone now.

Does this sound like food poisoning or a bug/stress? I’m just so worried that this is going to affect the baby.

Sarah239 · 10/11/2021 08:02

@TashieWoo this sounds like exactly what I had around week 6-7 of pregnancy. I never really established what caused it but it gradually got better. I'm not sure if it was viral gastritis, food poisoning or to do with fluctuating hormones in pregnancy.

Towards the end though, for me it felt mainly like a lot of trapped wind causing intense stomach cramps, which I put down to the pregnancy. But the cramping was so bad that it felt like I had food poisoning! I also had diarrhoea.

I did book an appt with gp abt it about 2 weeks after it started... as it was getting better they weren't overly worried but they did ask for some stool samples (lovely!) to double check I didn't have an infection of some kind, as I was pregnant. She did also say it could be pregnancy symptom. I never actually heard back from them about the results so I assume no news good news?! I should chase that up actually. But my stomach is much better now. I do have IBS though so it's always a bit up and down.

My advice would be... if you don't feel like it's getting better, speak to your gp. Even if it does get better, might be best to speak to them just to check everything is well! because of the takeaway and leftovers etc, sounds possible it might be a bit of food poisoning. Wish you all the best xx

GinnyBee · 10/11/2021 08:11

@cloudpopbump My due date was moved to 5 days earlier, which I don't quite believe! Bubs is just growing quick, must have husband's tall genes 😂I tested ovulation and then had a positive preg test at 3+3 / DPO10 so it can't have happened 5 days earlier. 2 days max, and even that is dubious.

@TashieWoo That sounds really unpleasant! I think you're very unlikely to get listeriosis from hot food, even unpasteurised dairy products are ok as long as you cook them through first. I've never had food poisoning that I know of, unless the norovirus I had early 2020 was from contaminated food, so I don't know how food poisoning compares to stomach bug.

My dog has some sort of tummy upset, he has woken me at 6.30 for two mornings now with a rumbly tummy and then goes straight for a poo when I open the door for him, and whilst I feel sad that he's feeling poorly I really want to sleep in later!!!! 😩

I'm thinking of telling work today. I'm WFH today so I'll email my boss. Then I'm in tomorrow. Will be such a relief when they know as then I don't feel like a slacker if I'm tired at work. I'm a little bit nervous though as the timing is crap. I only started in August and it's a micro-business of only 3 employees, so I do feel a little bit bad that they'll have to go through the recruiting process again.

Good luck to everyone else who has a scan today!

fattycatty82 · 10/11/2021 08:24

@TashieWoo I have had an upset tummy and chills at times, on and off, which I'm pretty sure are just part and parcel of the delightful pregnancy symptoms I've been experiencing, hopefully all is well but I agree speak to your doctor if things don't improve or you're worried

To the wide awake crew, I woke at 3am for two hours then again at 7am. Oh the joy 🥱

@GinnyBee I was terrified about telling my boss even had a video call with her on the day about me covering someone else's maternity leave (the irony!) but couldn't go through with it so emailed her instead. She was nice about it (to my face 🤣) but of course it's not ideal but then, women have babies that's just life. Don't feel too bad I actually don't now! Good luck

TashieWoo · 10/11/2021 08:59

Thank you @fattycatty82, @Sarah239 and @GinnyBee - I’ve called NHS 111, got through really quickly and a doctor is calling me back in the next hour or so. I had to tell my client at work (I’m a consultant) as we have a deadline tomorrow and I’m going to disappear to go to the doctors probably, but they are being really nice and understanding.

Xx

EJLM · 10/11/2021 11:26

New thread :) thanks for setting up . is anyone gone back to normal eating yet I'm still finding dinner really difficult and only fancying junk food! I do manage to wat some fruit in the day just wish i could eat a few more veggies

GinnyBee · 10/11/2021 11:30

@EJLM I'm the opposite, can't handle anything too stodgy or heavy! Mediterranean flavours, fresh fruit, and oddly ready salted crisps. I can eat well enough, but much smaller portions than I'm used to, and snack in between meals which I haven't done ever in life! Suppose this is better than fancying junk, but husband isn't happy about missing out wintery stews and gravy based comfort food now that it's getting colder! 🤣

How's everyone doing? I feel bad not commenting on the nub theory posts, but I can't help but think it's a bit unscientific. Sorry for being a bit baa humbug about it!

morphe · 10/11/2021 13:52

Hello new thread and thanks for setting it up @GinnyBee!

@cloudpopbump my due date was moved back a whole week. I wasn't checking ovulation , but I know LMP and it doesn't seem to make sense.

Hope you feel better soon @TashieWoo. It's unlikely to be anything serious, I think the main worry is listeria but doesn't seem likely from what you ate.

I think my eating habits are back to normal, although I always get worse cravings for junk food when pregnant. My last pregnancy I used to have a sneaky takeaway when DH was at work (I wfh) but now he's wfh too I feel a bit sheepish pigging out in front of him so I've been indulging a bit less!

KMHH · 10/11/2021 14:02

Went for my "12 week" scan today, everything went really well and baby is doing great! My due date has been changed to 16th may making me 13+2 so further than what we got told by the private scan and by what we thought!
Hope everyone is having a good day x

Bubbasmama2017 · 10/11/2021 15:04

@SerendipitySunshine i was just googling about Nub theory it wasn't something I was aware of first time around. I've had a guess at mine based on my scan photo but it could be a load of rubbish i suppose!

fejkalove · 10/11/2021 15:11

Had our 12 week scan today, had an overly full very uncomfortable bladder and a stubborn baby so ended up having an internal to begin with which woke baby up and began waving and kicking. Dated 2 days behind where we were told with private so now 12+2. Feeling so in love. 🥰

Due May 2022 (thread 3)
robyna · 10/11/2021 15:15

Had mine today too, all was fine and similar to you @fejkalove I had a reallllly full bladder which she asked me to empty as baby was stretched right out and she couldn't get measurements.
I'm measuring ahead so I'm 13+4 and due 14th May. I had to move myself around so baby would move as it was facing down and crossing its legs!

SerendipitySunshine · 10/11/2021 15:19

I think maybe I'm just an old grouch @Bubbasmama2017 but it's pretty much every post in the facebook groups I joined (and quickly left!). I realise it's a 12-week thing and it'll stop soon when people who want to know will find out the sex!

GinnyBee · 10/11/2021 16:00

@SerendipitySunshine I'm the same! I couldn't care less about the nub theory 🙈I'm also not booking a private gender scan and will just wait for my 20-week scan. It'll be exciting to find out, but I can wait. And if baby isn't cooperating and we don't get a conclusive answer at the scan that's ok too, I don't mind a surprise!

Do you gals have a 'working title' for little one yet? What are you calling it? I think we settled on Thor when I suggested it as a joke, but then it stuck 🤣

SerendipitySunshine · 10/11/2021 16:02

Glad it's not just me @GinnyBee

We have the very unimaginative name of 'bumpy the bump!'.

TashieWoo · 10/11/2021 16:08

LP as MIL calls it a Little Pudding 🥰
