@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat that's true! I was induced early as they thought the baby was going to be huge but she came out just over 7lbs

newmama2022 · 26/11/2021 16:02

@fattycatty82 thank you for your reply, it’s made me feel a little better about it. As the blanket was on my back and not on my skin. It was hot but not enough that would cause burning.
I will probably still talk to my midwives just to make sure. x

stormy11 · 26/11/2021 17:07

Hi, can I join in the thread please? I am over 14 weeks now with my 2nd child. Had my first scan this week. Is anyone else still suffering with morning sickness? Have requested to join the fb group too. Hope that's OK.

newmama2022 · 26/11/2021 17:23

@stormy11 Hi, I am 19 weeks pregnant and I suffered with sickness quite badly. Mainly in the evenings. I still have sickness from times to time, I guess everyone is different but I believe it is normal to still have sickness throughout the first trimester and even into the 2nd. x

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 26/11/2021 17:50

@stormy11 I’m 17 weeks and I’ve only just stopped being sick this week. Fingers crossed it ends for you soon too. Morning sickness is so grim. I kept reading how it should come to an end at 12 weeks when I was much past that and feeling very irate that I was still being sick. I think it stops for the majority of people by 18 weeks.

hwp22 · 26/11/2021 18:13

Evening!! I’ve got another reassurance scan tomorrow - will be 14w5d - really excited to see the babies again. but also have that anxiety in the back of my mind that everything will be OK.
Wonder if it’s too early to see if they are Bs/Gs if not hopefully will be able to see at 16W scan! Fingers crossed as would be lovely to know before Xmas!
Ps…anyone else got dreadful backache? Mine is awful by the end of each day at work! Xx

Minster2012 · 26/11/2021 20:11

Backache here!!
And got the worlds most horrendous cold this week and I'm really struggling to breathe & sleep without medication 😩

On the how many clothes front it's a bit of a lottery really, my 9lb baby fit a few newborn for a few weeks then into 0-3, by 6 weeks we went through at least 3 sets of clothes per day and numerous bibs and muslins as he had reflux. One of my friends never used a bib or muslins til weaning 🤷🏼‍♀️so it's a bit suck it and see really

hwp22 · 26/11/2021 20:51

@Minster2012 - oh no you poor thing - I had a horrible cold about 3 weeks ago - drank a ton of honey, lemon and ginger with hot water and had the odd ‘Tune’ to clear my airways at night but it was a real struggle going to work - I’d normally just dose up on Sudafed and get on with things!!
Any back ache tips??

Minster2012 · 26/11/2021 21:24

I use a heated wheat bag for the back ache & warm baths @hwp22 ive been having a bit more than the odd "tune" 😂

hwp22 · 26/11/2021 21:43

Haha …I was trying to limit how many I had but I actually think they were fine - I was still in Panic mode (pre 12w) at the time!!
Might try hot a wheat bag as I’ve got one somewhere!

Minster2012 · 26/11/2021 22:17

I've just come back from Center Parcs and got this delivered! There is hope!

I’m getting a bit anxious that I’m 16 weeks on Monday and i keep reading people saying I should be able to feel my uterus and my whole stomach just feels squishy. I don’t feel like I have much of a bump/it has grown either.

I had a MMC before so I’m so stressed that the baby has stopped growing.

Can you guys actually feel your uterus?

Dryshampooandcoffee · 27/11/2021 16:33

@Elsie2021 it’s easiest to feel it when lying down, but please don’t worry if you can’t feel it as it’s a subtle difference and there are numerous reasons why you might not be able to feel it from the shape of your uterus to the position you’re baby is lying in. Midwives have to train to properly feel the uterus. It’s very normal not to have a bump by 16 weeks as well. Do you have a midwife appointment soon?

Dryshampooandcoffee · 27/11/2021 16:34

@Elsie2021 only asking if you have a midwife appointment as it may reassure you, not because I think you have anything to worry about 🙂

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 27/11/2021 19:53

@Elsie2021 is it your first baby? I didn’t have a bump with my first until about 20 weeks. It’s my third this time so showed a lot sooner but I don’t particularly feel like it’s a bump as such yet just looks fat to me. It’s very squishy unless I’m lying on my back. If I’m lying down it feels a little firmer and I think I can feel the top of my uterus just under my belly button, but as I said this is my third so everything has been stretched already so don’t panic if you don’t feel the same when you’re lying down.

Sarah239 · 27/11/2021 22:01
  1. does anyone else feel like they are sneezing more in pregnancy?!

  2. does anyone else get scared every time they have to sneeze? I keep thinking I'll harm the baby! I need to learn how to not do whole-body sneezes 😅

hwp22 · 27/11/2021 22:23

@Sarah239 yep same here and sometimes I get shooting type pains when I sneeze which worried me alot but I’ve been told by the midwife that the pains are round ligament pain - I find myself holding my little bump when I feel a sneeze coming as it worries me less!

robyna · 28/11/2021 07:21

Congratulations @robyna 💕

@laura2093 my guess would be a girl!

GinnyBee · 28/11/2021 09:12

I have two more weeks until my gender scan, starting to get impatient now! I don't even particularly want to know, I'm not that fussed as I want to do gender neutral everything and we're not doing a reveal or telling anyone else, but already feels like ages since my 12 week scan so want to just see everything is still well and get that bit of reassurance.

I'm still struggling with exercise. I have my energy back but not my motivation! Now that it's cold and dark it's just so much more difficult to make the decision to leave the house and go to the gym instead of sitting by the fire watching telly. And it's making me feel lazy and fat.

OP posts:
fattycatty82 · 28/11/2021 09:44

@GinnyBee is there any way you can go in mornings or lunchtimes? There's no way I can get out of an evening to exercise especially not in winter. Also when I feel low on motivation I just try and start with a walk a few days in a row and that helps with my energy so I feel more like a trip to the gym. I'm still only going two or three times a week though but I've started swimming again afterwards and I do feel so much better for it. I do group sessions too which I think makes me more likely to go than if I was just going on my own xx

Having said that, is anyone suffer from backache? 😂😭 I've just noticed it this morning

And I'm also obsessing about the size of my bump, I was showing quite early on so assumed it would continue to grow at that rate but it's seemed the same size for a while now and I am starting to worry a bit. It looks tiny in mornings then bigger at night

GinnyBee · 28/11/2021 09:59

@fattycatty82 not really on most days as I have to work. Weekends I could, but then this weekend the dog has woken me up at 2am both nights and I needed to sleep in. I do group sessions too but it's not like I've promised anyone I'd be there so it doesn't make any difference. In a way I might be more likely to go on my own actually so I'm not restricted to class times, but my box doesn't really offer open gym times that would suit me either.

I do have to walk the dog daily so I'm not completely sedentary but I don't class that as exercise, just part of normal life.

fattycatty82 · 28/11/2021 10:06

@GinnyBee you're probably pretty fit already with the daily dog walks! 🥰 I am looking forward to really pushing myself again at the gym my strength was really improving this summer but like the CF coach said to me yesterday: 'your not building strength now you're building a baby!' 😂
