@autumn321 wow….32 that is horrendous- i’m not sure I wake that many times but I don’t think id want to know tbh! Makes me feel Tired just thinking about it!
I do something wonder if all this sleep disturbance is to prepare you for when the baby is here!! xx

hwp22 · 22/11/2021 21:43

@Bubbasmama2017 I really miss sleeping on my front and I’ll never take it for granted again! Lol

Minster2012 · 23/11/2021 08:35

Catching up after a few days away & it's so lovely to see some gender scans!

@GinnyBee what kind of maternity bras did you get? I've gone from a 34D/DD to a huge 34F! I've got myself a second hand molke bra & really like it, I also just look a bit podgy 😂

@autumn321 has anything helped your sleeping? I can still lie on my front (if I wanted to) but dont tend to, I tend to lie sideways but with my top leg well over IYSWIM and that doesn't give me a dead hip

Congratulations on your girls @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat
@YummyMummyXoX , @H0peing and that you are reassured,
and on your boy @EastMidsGem how far along were you all for the scans? I've got one on the 4th which is 15+6 cos that's the only time we can do it

@cloudpopbump ive not had my screening results back either, but I said last night to DH that means it's good right?

I've got soooo much clothes left from my boy but they are all really bright as I love dressing him (and me) in bright colours

I've got the most horrendous cold, can't breathe through my nose at all. Any recommendations on something to unblock my nose that's safe?

Bubbasmama2017 · 23/11/2021 08:59

@Minster2012 you can get saline solution that you put up your nose to clear it out its safe to use in pregnancy

GinnyBee · 23/11/2021 09:45

@Minster2012 I got two pairs from HotMilk at their birthday sale, I saw someone on these boards recommend them and they are really good! I was nervous ordering online as I have funny shaped boobs and struggle to find models that fit me properly, but both of them are great even though they're different shapes. I haven't worn a bra bra in years, but I used to be 30D/DD and whilst my boobs have grown a bit they're not massive, in fact I think what's happened is they've evened out in shape and stayed similar size so I've only gone up to 32D 😂

For the blocked nose get saline rinse or a neti pot. I personally prefer neti pot but the pressurised saline rinse bottles are a bit easier to use first time.

I tend to sleep in a half side / half front position, with my bottom leg straight and top leg bent. It's not causing any trouble yet, but I suspect bump will eventually get in the way when it grows bigger. Then I don't know what to do, as whenever I nap properly on my side I wake up with achy top hip. Probably a pillow between my knees should help.

Last night my stupid dog first woke me at 1am for a poo, and then I was hoping he'd sleep in because of the night time outing, but oh no, 7.30am whinge whinge so had to take him out, and he did like three more poos during the short walk! Poor thing must have been feeling so bunged up, but that didn't stop me feeling pissed off and cranky. Now I feel bad for not being nicer to him 🙈

We decided to splurge and booked a gender scan for the 11th. Although I still don't know if I want to know, but wanted a reassurance scan between the 12 and 20 week scans as that's such a long time! I don't mind finding out, but what I don't want to do is tell anyone else and my husband is notoriously bad at keeping secrets that I worry he'll blurt it out. 😂 We live next door to his parents and see them daily and I just don't trust him to be able to keep it to himself for months.

EastMidsGem · 23/11/2021 11:56

@Minster2012 My gender scan was at 16 + 4. The scan was so clear it was great. It was really for reassurance that everything’s still ok because I’m still paranoid but nice to know!

@GinnyBee I’m the same sleeping half side and half front but I do have to switch every couple of hours to the other side as my bottom hip hurts! It’s a nightmare. Then if I turn over too quick, I get a pain in my lower belly so I’m cursing at myself! You’re brave living next to the in laws!! We’re trying to keep the gender secret until Christmas Day by which time we will have also had the 20 week scan.

I had a bit of an emotional breakdown yesterday because I’ve been working at home since April 2020 and work know that I’m pregnant and how far along I am but they’ve now decided I need to start going back into the office in 2 weeks time for 3 days a week. I couldn’t stop crying when I found out! My work is just about an hours commute each way so I am dreading the early mornings again and being so uncomfortable in the car. Plus our office has no social distancing or mask wearing in place any more ☹️

fattycatty82 · 23/11/2021 12:21

@EastMidsGem my company are expecting us back to their new office in London (more than two hours commute each way for me) a few times a week from second week of December but I've already decided I'm just going to say I'm too exhausted/nauseous/worried about covid/want to wait for booster to go in until the new year. They can't force you if you say it's because of the pregnancy. I also applied to be a remote worker a few months back because of the distance and thankfully am only really expected in one day a week. It's horrible though because if you've been doing your job perfectly well since March 2020 (if not better as not exhausted from journey etc) then what's the point??

EastMidsGem · 23/11/2021 12:33

@fattycatty82 I know I completely agree! He said that the company doesn’t have a working from home policy (which unfortunately is true) and he kept me at home as long as he could but now I’m past the 12 week mark, they feel I should be able to go back in. I just feel it’s so pointless this close to maternity leave. I’ve told him my health comes first and if I start to struggle, I won’t hesitate to speak to a doctor/midwife about it. Can’t believe your commute is 2 hours!

I applied for flexible working back at the end of 2019 and was doing it from January 2020 until covid hit. Then they said I could work from home only if I went back to full time (a lot of people had to stay in the office) so I said yes. Then part way through last year they asked if would stay full time if I worked from hole 2 days a week long term. So I said yes again. Then obviously they’ve just kept me at home as long as possible so I suppose I can’t complain in that way

LemonSwan · 23/11/2021 13:22

I too am bloody knackered with disturbed sleep!

DP and I have decided to buy a new bed because I have gone from taking up my usual 2/3rds of the bed to 3/4s Grin

GinnyBee · 23/11/2021 14:39

@LemonSwan We've gone even further and have separate bedrooms! 😂 We've had the guest room set up for the occasional visit when one of us has a cold or some other reason to be either out late or up unreasonably early so we don't have to disturb the other person, but then when I had my second miscarriage in the spring and was sleeping really badly due to the cramping and hormones, hubby moved out for good. And now we both sleep much better! He's also a sleepwalker, and there's no predicting when he'll have one of those nights so now I don't have to deal with that anymore either.

I'm already a bit sad for when we have to move back to the same room and make the guest room a guest room again. 😭

YummyMummyXoX · 23/11/2021 16:53

@Minster2012 mine was 15 weeks it was very clear the screen was massive too. I asked how sure sonographer was about 3 or 4 times, she was certain and inspected for ages in 2d and 4d. It's nice to leave confident although no gender scan can be 100% x

LemonSwan · 23/11/2021 17:53

@GinnyBee

We've gone even further and have separate bedrooms!

Wow sounds lush! Grin We are currently in the midst of a house renovation so we dont have the luxury of any extra rooms. EVERYTHING is in one bloody one plan room atm (kitchen, lounge, bedroom, dining, study etc)! Its a bit of a nightmare.

GinnyBee · 23/11/2021 17:59

Oh gosh @LemonSwan! We did that two years ago, we were actually living in my in-laws' spare room for a year when our house was being done, so I know what it's like to be cramped! But it's worth it in the end, although at times that's hard to believe 😂

OP posts:
LemonSwan · 24/11/2021 00:13

@GinnyBee

Oh yes its worth it! I would take one room living over construction dust anyday :)

Just need to get a wriggle on for May!!!

LS2020 · 24/11/2021 07:25

@EastMidsGem @fattycatty82 I’m the same, we’ve been pulled in for 3 days a week starting this week. Ironically I’m not in this week because I’ve got a bad stomach bug and they don’t want me passing it around but I have a 40 minute commute and the thought of losing that sleep in the morning makes me want to weep! I’m not due my booster until January and there’s already been 4 people including me off with sickness bugs this past week in my wider team of 25 😞

Minster2012 · 24/11/2021 08:25

Thank you ladies for the reassurance on the scan it should be ok 👌🏻

And will try find some saline spray def, though am at center parcs atm so bit stuffed (in so many ways!) 😂😂

@GinnyBee think you've got it right with separate rooms

@LemonSwan eeeekkk we are planning a big renovation too & just at planning stage so will be when the baby is here. Likely moving to my in laws with a baby 2 dogs & toddler 🙈it'll be finnnneeeee

Bubbasmama2017 · 24/11/2021 12:54

The tiredness has hit me like a ton of bricks again today. I'm 16 weeks today thought it would have eased off by now! Trying to lie down in my lunch break but worried I'll fall asleep. Anyone else feeling like this today?
I've been struggling with work anyway today as too excited for my gender scan on Saturday Grin

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 24/11/2021 13:08

I feel you on the tiredness @Bubbasmama2017 I was so tired this morning I kept almost falling asleep on the sofa and my very unimpressed 2 year old kept shouting at me 😂 in the last week I’ve felt much less nauseous though so that is a huge relief.

Good luck with your gender scan @Minster2012 I’m sure it will be fine at 15+6. Mine was 16+5 and I doubt a few days will make much difference. Mine was a very clear photo and can quite clearly see it is a girl.

Minster2012 · 24/11/2021 13:21

Thank you @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat, it had its legs crossed on our 12 week scan so no nub theory guesses 😂

I'm just generally knackered @Bubbasmama2017 but also got a horrendous cold so a lot of that

fattycatty82 · 24/11/2021 13:29

Can I just add to the list of people feeling absolutely knackered today. Woke at 5am and couldn't get back to sleep. Sitting at my desk doing very little work trying to think up ways to avoid the Xmas work lunch (which is the other side of London and we have to pay for!) my boss keeps saying how 'rammed' it is and how she struggled to get us all a table and all I keep thinking is I don't want covid especially right before Xmas and I can't be arsed to go anyway! Just generally short of patience and want to lie on the sofa and watch place in the sun 😂

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 24/11/2021 15:08

@fattycatty82 I've already declined the invite to my Christmas work do. It's just about bearable when I've had a few drinks but attending it sober!? I don't think so! 😂

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 24/11/2021 15:09

Also, is there a Facebook group? I think I might have seen it somewhere a while ago but I can't find it now.

I did come off of Facebook after my miscarriage in Feb and haven't been back on it since but I feel ready to go back on again if there's a group for May babies

aNewYorkerInLondon · 24/11/2021 17:33

@fattycatty82, I'd tell your boss that you're not yet comfortable in crowded indoor venues. Being required to go to the office is one thing. Being expected to expose yourself to illness for some horrid happy hour is entirely different.

fattycatty82 · 24/11/2021 18:05

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter 😂! And yes there is a Facebook group I can't work out how to post a link here but it's called Due May 2022

@aNewYorkerInLondon I think I'm going to diplomatically explain this 👍

Bubbasmama2017 · 24/11/2021 18:23

@fattycatty82 I said the same to my boss about the Christmas party, actually quite a few people without health problems/pregnancy have pulled out so I dont feel too bad
