I haven’t checked in on here for a few days and so much to catch up on!! We had our private gender scan on Friday and found out we’re having a boy! We didn’t mind either way but nice to know.

I’ve been in maternity trousers from Amazon for a few weeks already, I’ve definitely got a bump but I was overweight to begin with. Looking forward to feeling baby move because that hasn’t happened yet but they said on Friday it can take up to just over 20 weeks sometimes

H0peing · 21/11/2021 19:40

Just had a wellbeing + gender scan today and found out it's a girl!Smile

H0peing · 21/11/2021 19:44

I was planning to leave it a bit later but I had some spotting earlier this week and the NHS weren't in a rush to scan me because they said that spotting without cramps is very common and that after the 13 week scan the chance of miscarriage is extremely low but I was worried so got a double reassurance that our baby is well and to find out the gender was a lovely bonus! We have a boy and are excited to find out what it will be like to have a daughterSmilexx

H0peing · 21/11/2021 19:45

@EastMidsGem congratulations on your baby boy! Xx

H0peing · 21/11/2021 19:48

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat Congratulations on finding out that it's a girl!Smile I guess it will be exciting to learn what it's like to have a girl. Some of our son's outfits were quite neutral gender wise anyway but I'm looking forward to buying some pretty pink dresses xxxx

H0peing · 21/11/2021 19:50

@YummyMummyXoX Congratulations!!!Smile Very exciting and lovely that your son wanted a sister xxxxxx

H0peing · 21/11/2021 19:56

@KMHH How are you feeling now? I hope you feel much better soon!!!! Xx

EastMidsGem · 21/11/2021 19:57

@H0peing congratulations 😊 glad everything is still ok, I think I’d be exactly the same after spotting!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 21/11/2021 19:57

Congrats on your boy @EastMidsGem! And your girl @H0peing! Great you have had a scan for the reassurance, it must have been very worrying to have the spotting but great the midwives have been able to reassure you and you’ve seen all is well on the scan.

I’ve always dressed my boys quite gender neutral, especially as babies they had a lot of bright colour clothes so I don’t think I’ll be buying much despite this being my first girl. There were a few bits I’ve given away to friends so I’m going to see what I’ve got and may get a few babygrows and vests.

Bubbasmama2017 · 21/11/2021 20:01

It's so exciting hearing about all the gender scans! Ours is next weekend I'll be over 16 weeks so hoping they will be able to find out!

H0peing · 21/11/2021 20:03

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat Thanks! Yes, I think bright neutral clothes are great and I'm grateful that I have some of those! It's good that you haven't got to buy lots of new clothes xxxx

H0peing · 21/11/2021 20:06

@Bubbasmama2017 Excited for you for next week!Smile Well, at first ours had her legs crossed so we weren't sure that we'd find out today but then she opened them after the sonographer advised me to move around a bit. Apparently drinking cold water helps to get baby moving too. Xx

KMHH · 21/11/2021 20:08

@H0peing Congratulations! I'm glad that everything is ok! 💕

Today is the first day I've managed to get up, feeling so much better! Hopefully this is the start of it going away! Still got until Friday before I am out of isolation but I have my gender scan on the Monday after so something to look forward to 😁 xx

Thank you everyone for the well wishes also 😊 x

H0peing · 21/11/2021 20:11

I'm wearing my maternity clothes from my first pregnancy with my son and they've all lasted really well. They are all from New Look. Pretty good value and I'm impressed with the quality because they've lasted, although I bought some leggings on Amazon that were a lot thicker than the New Look ones.

The jeans don't feel as comfortable as I remember them being, maybe because my bump isn't big enough yet or because my legs are fatter this time around...not sure but I always feel very comfortable in maternity leggings. I definitely recommend their tops an dresses. X

H0peing · 21/11/2021 20:12

@KMHH Really glad to hear that you're feeling a lot better and it's great that you have your gender scan to look forward to!Smilexxxx

cloudpopbump · 21/11/2021 21:17

Lovely to hear the gender scan news ☺️
We have ours booked for a few weeks time.

I still haven't had my screening results back, it's been two weeks,

Re sleep @autumn321 mine sounds exactly the same. Pgp has set in already and it's getting uncomfortable. My middle back is over compensating and it's very painful. If you're not already try a pillow between legs to separate your knees. I use a wedge pillow for my bump which works well.

As for mat clothes, I'm a fan of uniqlo and baggy jumpers x

morphe · 21/11/2021 21:22

Lovely to hear about the results of everyone's gender scans, it's so lovely when you can start imagining your little one as a boy/girl, buying clothes and choosing names. We're expecting a girl and already have a 3yo DD, but we gave away her smallest clothes so will need to get clothes to cover the first year or so.

@autumn321 I slept terribly during the first trimester, although it wasn't due to pain but I would just get up at 3/4am and not be able to go back to sleep. It's improved hugely in the past few weeks, so hope it gets better for you too.

Jowd92 · 22/11/2021 07:02

Aww congratulations on the gender scans I have mine booked for early dec the kids are really excited as we are all going to the scan to find out together which will be lovely there all secretly hoping for a sister my daughter would love a sister after 3 boys haha! But they know as long as all is good with baby there grateful either way i usually have a feeling but this time I really don’t have a clue so will be lovely

hwp22 · 22/11/2021 18:50

Aww so lovey hearing everyone’s gender scan results…seems like quite a few are having girls! Hoping we find out at our 16 week scan in December!! Can’t wait!
I’m at the strange stage where only 1 pair of my jeans and work trousers fit me but the maternity ones are huge on me - just want to be in one or their other and not stuck with one pair of jeans one pair of work trousers and leggings!! So frustrating!
@KMHH sorry to hear you’ve got Covid - hope you start feeling better soon.

For those not sleeping - Im the same keep waking up in the night with a ‘dead hip’ Turning over then the same thing an hour or so later - so frustrating! And I’ve got one of those V shaped pillows which really helped to start with but not so much now!

autumn321 · 22/11/2021 19:31

@hwp22 yes dead hip is exactly what I'm getting!! It's such an uncomfortable type of pain I can't even describe it! I can do about an hour lying on one side until it's unbearable and so I turn, and then this whole process goes on all night Confused my pillow isn't helping either! It sounds like for some of the other ladies on this thread sleep has improved for them so fingers crossed it will for us too!! xx

hwp22 · 22/11/2021 20:05

@autumn321 - yep same here it’s driving me crazy!! Just want to sleep on my front like I normally do!! Arrrgghh! Well if you find a solution let me know and I’ll do the same! Fingers crossed it’ll improve soon!
My poor hubby must be getting annoyed with me constantly shifting around all night!! xx

hwp22 · 22/11/2021 20:06

Any other ladies on this thread having twins?? Don’t want to be the only one! 🥺 xx

autumn321 · 22/11/2021 20:14

Yep!! Thanks I'll let you know if I do! There's got to be a solution! I checked my Fitbit this morning and it counts how many times I'm properly awake throughout the night and how many times I'm restless and last night it showed 32 instances of restlessness! So much unbroken sleep Sad xx

autumn321 · 22/11/2021 20:15

@hwp22 sorry forgot to tag you in my last comment!! xx

Bubbasmama2017 · 22/11/2021 21:04

@autumn321 yep same here with the crap sleep! If it's not weird dreams waking me up, it's needing a pee or something being uncomfortable! I used to sleep on my front but trying to do left side and much as possible and finding it so hard most nights
