@KMHH sorry to hear you have Covid. I too had it when I was around 9 weeks. Took paracetamol when I was feeling hot/chilly, drank lots and tried to rest as much as I could. Lost my appetite cos of Covid and hyperemisis. Luckily baby was fine at the scan my son breezed through bless him. Hoping you have a speedy recovery x

robyna · 19/11/2021 17:00

@YummyMummyXoX
@KMHH
@Sarah239

Thank you! Had my letter today, all low risk. Downs is slightly higher but still low risk!

Bubbasmama2017 · 19/11/2021 17:51

Just catching up, @kmhh sorry you're not well hope you're feeling better soon and can rest up

I've done next to no exercise apart from walking most days which has been a shock to me as was running short distances almost every day prior to week 5ish of pregnancy but the tiredness and shortness of breath has really wiped me out and only managed a couple of runs since. I'd also like to swim in the evenings but it's finding the time and energy!

TashieWoo · 19/11/2021 20:54

@KMHH sorry to hear you have covid, I hope you’re getting plenty of rest and feel better soon, thinking of you x

Bubbasmama2017 · 20/11/2021 07:48

Has anyone else noticed a bump coming and going again? I've had days where it's super obvious then woken up the last couple of days and it's almost flat (I've got a higher BMI so it's never actually flat!). It definitely gets bigger when I feel bloated.

Minster2012 · 20/11/2021 08:55

@KMHH oh no sorry to hear you've got Covid, hopefully it's manageable and passes soon

@robyna I'm still waiting on my results, it's been 9 days so far and they said if it needs discussing more then we would hear in 7/10 days so I'm pleased I've not heard yet

Had awful round ligament pain this morning when sneezing, literally like being stabbed in my right side ☹️not pleasant

LS2020 · 20/11/2021 08:56

@Bubbasmama2017 that’s how mine is - I’m mid overweight BMI about 28 and mine deffo gets bigger over the day and when I wake up in the morning it’s totally flat when I’m laid down. I’m kinda part convinced that what I do have as “bump” is all just bloat though. Google keeps telling me it’s normal and it’ll pop out at some random point soon and stay.
“Fortunately” I’m still being unwell otherwise would have a hard time telling I was pregnant at all! Barely put on any weight and only gone up one bra cup size. I’m sure a bump will be along soon and you’ll want to do back to sleeping comfortably again 😂

Bubbasmama2017 · 20/11/2021 09:03

@LS2020 that's good! Even though I've been sick every day sometimes many times per day I've managed to gain a stone already but I was really strict dieting very low calorie and carb prior to finding out so I think my body just threw it all back on again as soon as I stopped doing that diet and only wanted to eat potatoes and bread! I'm sure the midwife will bring me up on it next week just hope they're not too shocked

fattycatty82 · 20/11/2021 09:05

My bump is defo more noticeable in the evenings so probably more bloating/trapped wind than baby 😂 still have ditched most of my normal clothes now apart from a few stretchy pair of pjs that still fit... their time is numbered though I reckon. I think I've got just enough maternity clothes to get me through, especially as I mostly work from home so don't need to be too presentable! I'm hoping I don't need to buy a maternity coat though and can get away with the ones I already have as seems like such a waste of money. I went swimming yesterday and wore my Jojo maman Bebe swimming cossie, was so comfy but not very sexy 😆 I looked like a balloon 🎈

GinnyBee · 20/11/2021 09:06

@Bubbasmama2017 I'm quite slim and mine does that too, particularly in the evenings I get really bloated and deffo look preggers, but in the mornings I look pretty much normal except for a bit or roundness in the lower belly that no one else would ever notice.

@KMHH sorry to hear you're poorly, hoping for a speedy recovery!

I've been feeling much better these past few days. Still get a bit icky in the evening but during the day I feel fine and the exhaustion is getting way better. I even went to the gym yesterday and then did outdoor work for the rest of the afternoon and I don't feel shattered today! Hoping to get back to more active lifestyle now, I hate feeling like a slouchy couch potato.

@Bubbasmama2017 my bump isn't very visible in the morning either but by the evening it's so uncomfortably bloated!

@Minster2012 I've been getting round ligament pain too when I'm lying down and I sneeze or cough, quite painful. If I know I have a sneeze coming i pull my knees up to my chest and this seems to help

I've also already gone up a cup size and am terrified of my boobs getting bigger because I'm already quite big chested 😬🙈

Has anyone invested in any maternity leggings or jeans? If so, any recommendations?? I think I need to get some now as im living in tights and dresses but even the tights are digging in by the evening!

fattycatty82 · 20/11/2021 09:49

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter defo H&M got basics like leggings and tights and I've got some really lovely dresses from seraphine (new and also from eBay). Got some pjs from new look but don't rate them

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 20/11/2021 10:01

Thanks @fattycatty82 I'll have a look x

robyna · 20/11/2021 10:02

@Minster2012 for the first three days I was just constantly checking my phone for missed calls so I knew when I got the letter it would be low risk. I've also had round ligament pain this morning, rolled over in bed and felt like someone stabbed me in my ovary 😂

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter I bought the most comfortable maternity jeans from boohoo, they're the £12 black ones. I'm usually a size 12 so I've now got a noticeable bump, people have been commenting on it already! Been asked by students at work whether I'm pregnant already 😅

Minster2012 · 20/11/2021 10:14

@Bubbasmama2017 I only really show in the evening like @GinnyBee I think I am just a bit rounder in the morning but you wouldn't guess unless you know But I think that's changing & I'm starting to show!

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter yes I pulled my knees up for the second sneeze & that helped!! I've also released Ed my boobs & I've gone from a 34 D/DD to a 34F 😳😳I've just bought a second hand molke bra to try as wires are hurting me

@robyna thanks it reassures me that it's a bit normal & also I keep checking my phone for missed calls

TashieWoo · 20/11/2021 12:52

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter I got some maternity leggings from Love Leggings, the classic ones and the sport ones, they are super comfortable and not see through, I’m really happy with them. The only drawback is that the sports ones don’t have a phone pocket.

I got some tunic style tops from asos as well, happy with those but I’ll need something warmer soon.

Bubbasmama2017 · 20/11/2021 13:07

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter I'd second the h&m recommendation but also New Look have been great for maternity stuff for me. I'm wearing it already from my first pregnancy so it's lasted well. I could do with some maternity running tights/leggings but I do like a phone pocket as always listening to music so need to keep hunting for that!

morphe · 21/11/2021 10:40

I've bought some maternity jeggings and leggings from H&M although I haven't started wearing them yet. I've got lots of comfy elasticated non-maternity trousters which are still fitting OK so wearing those for now. Last pregnancy I had some great maternity jeans from Gap although now you'd have to order online.

I'm looking bigger in general but more bloated than a bump. No one has questioned me about being pregnant yet though.

GinnyBee · 21/11/2021 11:36

I think this morning I've finally accepted that I'm bigger now! Still in the awkward stage where anyone who doesn't know what I normally look like would think I'm just a bit podgy, but I'm making myself feel a little better about it by telling myself I'm not just getting fat.

I haven't had to buy any maternity clothes yet, although I did get two new maternity bras, mostly because I've been living in yoga tops for years and a lot of them are getting a little stretched out and need replacing anyway. They're actually surprisingly comfortable. I originally ditched bras because they were so uncomfortable, but I guess wire free is the way to go! I'm never ever going back to underwired bras. Most of my bottoms still fit, at home I'm always in leggings and I only have one pair of slightly higher waisted jeans that are too snug, all my other jeans and cords fit just fine still.

Is anyone else having issues with sleeping?? I'll start off by saying I think I definitely am getting enough sleep! I'm so exhausted 90% of the time so I'm taking any opportunity I can to nap as well as getting around 8hrs sleep each night.
My problem is I cannot get comfy at all! I was finding that I was constantly changing from lying on one side to the other as my hips hurt from lying on one side for too long, so I bought a maternity pillow which seemed to help me stop turning constantly in the night but I keep waking up with such a painful back!! It's driving me mad.
I don't know if because I'm napping I'm not actually getting 'decent' sleep in the night time and that's making me fidget so much in the night? I'm disturbing DH's sleep and getting annoyed at myself for either waking up constantly with bad hips or waking up with such a sore back!!
Is anyone else having similar problems or anyone got any ideas on what I could change to try and help? xx

YummyMummyXoX · 21/11/2021 17:10

Hey hope everyone is doing ok. Had my gender scan today and it's a girl I was in shock and kept asking are you sure, how sure are you lol 💖 ultimately just wanted a healthy baby, my son wanted a little sister so he was happy x

Aw congratulations @YummyMummyXoX 💕

fattycatty82 · 21/11/2021 18:09

@YummyMummyXoX congratulations 🥳🥰

@autumn321 yes I'm usually in bed by 9.30am but wake at 3 or 4pm and don't go back to sleep for hours. I have a lovely big pregnancy pillow that is so comfy, so it's not that, more my brain not switching off.

I have so much more energy now though the last few days and just a little bit of nausea in evenings. I've been getting some cramping (hopefully normal) and boobs still so sore but my god what a difference from a few weeks ago first trimester was pants!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 21/11/2021 18:09

Congratulations @YummyMummyXoX!

I also had a gender scan yesterday and I’m also having a girl. I’m still in shock. I’ve got 2 little boys and was fully expecting another one. And I’m a bit panicking like all I know is boys what do you do with girls? 😂

Clothes wise I’ve bought a few pairs of maternity leggings but need a few more. I love the jojo maman bebe ones they are really thick, stretchy and comfortable but really expensive for what they are. I also got a few pairs from Lidl and while they are thinner material they are comfortable and much cheaper. I usually live in leggings and dresses / tunic tops which are mostly looser fitting or stretchy so I don’t think I’ll buy anything else apart from leggings. This is my last baby so reluctant to spend money on clothes I’m only going to wear a few months and annoyingly had sold or given away all the maternity clothes I had from my first two pregnancies.

YummyMummyXoX · 21/11/2021 18:12

Thanks so much everyone. @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat I also feel the same I'm happy but all I know is boys. Sure we'll learn fast x
