Is anyone else really struggling with work at the moment. Not just because of the physical symptoms but also the psychological distraction of such a massively life-changing event. I intended to spend this week preparing a massive workshop presentation for Monday and I've done no work at all. My brain just isn't having it. Praying I'll magically be on form over the weekend...

rathernotshare · 22/10/2021 12:27

@Wellthiswasunexpected yes really struggling! Doesn't help that I don't want to tell anyone yet and my jobs insanely stressful. Unfortunately, even when I do tell I think I'll be worked until I end up ill, there's not many options for them really with us being so short

RoseValleyRambles · 22/10/2021 12:27

@1sttimetina I'm so sorry - that sucks. Hoping you at least get clarity soon.

:'( So tempted to quit but I know that would be stupid at this stage. Haven't told anyone either, want to hold it off for as long as possible to be honest. But imagine having free time to just rest and relax during your pregnancy....aaaaaah. Can't stop fantasising about it haha.

Prema112 · 22/10/2021 12:38

@1stTimeTina I'm so sorry to hear your news, and it's frustrating that it's inconclusive. Thinking of you, look after yourself 💐

Wellthiswasunexpected · 22/10/2021 12:42

@1stTimeTina So sorry for jumping in with my whingey message I hadn't seen yours. Wishing you all the luck in the world for when you go back next week. Flowers

i123i · 22/10/2021 12:42

@1stTimeTina sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can peace and clarity soon.

@Wellthiswasunexpected and @rathernotshare - totally distracted at work!! Especially as I am so newly pregnant. Have a tonne of work to do but I just can’t concentrate for long on it… but it will come back to bite me so going to knuckle down (from Monday 😂).

Dogmum5 · 22/10/2021 12:45

Im struggling with the thought of work. Im a primary school teacher and have a difficult class this year. One child is particularly violent so Im so worried as my bump grows. Ive been incredibly stressed too.

blueberryy · 22/10/2021 12:53

Nausea has entered the building. Was woken up with it last night. Anyone have any tricks for soothing it?

Unarosaes · 22/10/2021 13:02

@1stTimeTina sorry to hear that. Have they given you a date for another scan soon?

CurryandSnuggle · 22/10/2021 13:07

@1stTimeTina I am so sorry, I hope you get more clarity soon Flowers

@1stTimeTina awww try not to worry if you’ve not been tracking ovulation a week behind is completely possible. Wait for the next scan hopefully things will be better in that

ShirleyValentineManc · 22/10/2021 13:36

@Tofu35 I still don't believe it really!

4thtimethecharm · 22/10/2021 13:54

@1stTimeTina, best of luck in the coming week, keeping my fingers crossed for you!

HWka · 22/10/2021 13:54

@1stTimeTina I’m so so sorry. I’ve been there and it’s so heartbreaking. Fingers crossed for you but just look after yourself xxx

Prema112 · 22/10/2021 14:00

I've just had my 8 week scan. Embryo looked great which was a relief, they could see a bleed in the uterus though. They said it was probably nothing to worry about but I saw a bleed on the scan before my previous miscarriage so not worrying is not easy... anyone else seen a bleed on the scan and it's all ended up ok?

PartyPotato · 22/10/2021 14:28

@Prema112 yep I had that with my first, my body just absorbed the blood back in.

Prema112 · 22/10/2021 14:35

@PartyPotato that's good to hear, thank you. Did they monitor you much with it?

Bridgey8 · 22/10/2021 15:35

Not great news here. Empty sac at the moment, which the doc just thought meant it was too early... but that doesn't match with my dates at all when I think I'm at least 6 weeks. Had bloods today and need to rescan in 10 days but gut instinct says I'm out xx

I had a scan yesterday thought I was 6 weeks they put me at 5+5, only could see the sac and yolk sac inside. No bloods done though, just have to wait for my ivf scan next Thursday! Been an absolute mess so I know how you must be feeling ! It might just be too early for us !!
PartyPotato · 22/10/2021 16:03

@Prema112 no they just told me it wasnt a problem and Id either pass it or it would get absorbed back into my body! Never had any bleeding so presume it got absorbed.

HWka · 22/10/2021 16:53

@Bridgey8 am so sorry to read this. Does it mean they are not concerned about an ectopic pregnancy now?xxx

PeeAche · 22/10/2021 16:59

@Bridgey8 I'm so, so sorry Thanks xxxx

Sunflowers81 · 22/10/2021 17:00
@PeeAche I know what you mean about one minute dreaming of this baby and the next convincing myself it’s all over and I must be miscarrying. It’s rubbish the doc dismissed you though.

I don’t think I’m at crisis point yet but know I need to relax or the next few months will be hell. The miscarriage percentage website above was really helpful and I’m using a mindfulness app which specifically covers early pregnancy which helps.

If your doc won’t help you can self refer if you are in the uk via this link for talking therapy.

Hope it helps to at least know you are not the only one.
@Wurz2 what is the app called please? It sounds great!

Bridgey8 · 22/10/2021 17:03

They still haven't ruled out ectopic which is confusing as the sac is in the uterus. The nurse was quite hopeful that the baby would materialise in a couple of weeks but I'm not so sure. Blood results tomo and then more Sunday...
