I've just booked myself an 8 week scan. I think it's going to set my mind at ease somewhat.

@CurryandSnuggle how was your booking in appointment? I've never made it quite far enough. What's it like?

Welcome to all new new names! @Bridgey8 don't worry about tomorrow. Ectopics are very rare indeed.

I think DH and I should be all snuggles and the most in love ever. But instead, he's really doing my head in. ShockGrin I just want to binge watch MAID and not speak.

PeeAche · 21/10/2021 19:29

@Unarosaes

A bit of a random one... I've read that a possible symptom is kind of metallic taste in your mouth. Well, I have a weird taste, but as I'd I had been eating mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, etc). I get it specially in the afternoons. Does anyone else have some weird taste in their mouth? I don't expect anyone to feel like they just had some walnuts, but maybe someone else has a non-metallic but still not regular taste in their mouth?
I had this with my first pregnancy. It was pretty annoying!
1stTimeTina · 21/10/2021 19:37

Thanks @Unarosaes!

i123i · 21/10/2021 19:47

@rathernotshare and @Turniptracker - thanks for that info. Guess it depends which hospital/trust it is. @MO22 - good idea with the email chaser. I’ve put a reminder in my diary to do so in a week or so 😂

@UnknownFemale01 - welcome! You are not geriatric! I am 34 and also pregnant with my first (only 4w+1 though so still very very early days). All my friends have kids already though so sometimes it does feel like it 😂

Yes I’ve been peeing on a stick every day since my first BFP on Tuesday (which was day af was due)! I will probably try to stop after tomorrow and do one or two late next week 🤞🏽

RoseValleyRambles · 21/10/2021 20:08

Welcome to the gang, @unknownfemale01. I don't know what officially counts as geriatric, but I suspect I may be clocking in as one at 38! Glad to see some others here of a similarly advanced age ;)

UnknownFemale01 · 21/10/2021 20:10

@i123i same! Last couple of pretty much everyone we know! Least we can get all the good tips and tricks!

I found out on Sunday, period was couple days late and I did a test to rule it out as I had just paid my balance for gastric bypass surgery Shock getting most of money back thank god, ibut my first reaction was panic about that! So happy now though Grin

UnknownFemale01 · 21/10/2021 20:12

@RoseValleyRambles thank you! Yay, I don't suppose we are that unusual these days!

PeeAche · 21/10/2021 20:14

@UnknownFemale01 welcome! I'm 33 and still killing it! Grin

Super constipated thought. Like, super.

HWka · 21/10/2021 20:28

Anyone else sneezed and felt pain?! Wow that was weird

MrsNT · 21/10/2021 20:56

@clomid1 yeah I went yesterday. They said it might b old blood as it was brown but have called me back again as was too early too see anythimg in scan so made things more uncertain rather than certain . So have to go again in a few days .

AlbatrossSociety · 21/10/2021 21:00

Hi all, it's been so busy here, 160 messages on a new thread already!! I hope some feelings of anxiety have passed. It helps me to interrupt myself if I'm getting caught up in anxious thoughts and recognise that it is anxiety talking, and not fact. If you can, acknowledge that it's anxiety talking, then find a way to connect with your body, like going for a walk or doing some stretching and taking some deep breaths, breathing out for longer than you breathe in. We have all sorts of weird thoughts all the time and we don't have to follow them down the rabbit hole!!

I've been soooo busy at work the last couple days I've barely had time to think about anything, and now I'm absolutely knackered, like a whole new level of tired.

Welcome to all the new joiners and sending out positive vibes for all of us to have lovely sticky beans!!

TinyTickler · 21/10/2021 21:03

@TTCjourney2021 YES WITH THE PAIN NEAR MY BELLY BUTTON!! Wtf is it?!

TTCjourney2021 · 21/10/2021 21:25

@TinyTickler I've got absolutely no idea 😂

Seabreeze2 · 21/10/2021 21:29

@HWka yes! Sneezing is super weird lol! Like something might pop in my stomach 😂 I’m too scared to sneeze!

Just caught up on the messages from today 💕 welcome to all new! Today (6+1) I’ve strangely been feeling absolutely fine in terms of symptoms but have had a milky-brown discharge so I’m getting worried 😞.

Hope you are all well xx

MrsNT · 21/10/2021 22:00

@Seabreeze2 looks like that type of brown discharge is very common but scary when it happens.

makingamac · 21/10/2021 22:02

Yes to the sneezing! I literally hold my uterus! And I sneeze a lot! 😂 xx

PeeAche · 21/10/2021 22:21
@TTCjourney2021 YES WITH THE PAIN NEAR MY BELLY BUTTON!! Wtf is it?!
I reckon it's referred pain from uterus. I'm getting it too. But it's IN my belly button. It's so weird!

CurryandSnuggle · 21/10/2021 22:36

@PeeAche yeah the booking in appointment is fine, they just want to know the ins and outs of a ducks arse 😂

Then they take a blood sample for some tests, measure your height and weight, and test your urine sample.

My stupidly spindly veins meant I had to go to hospital for my booking in bloods, went 2 weeks ago buy not seeing MW until 5th June. Anyone else feel a bit unreal that no medical type person confirms that you are actually pregnant, and we just rely on a stick from the chemist for weeks on end? 6+6 at the mo.

laurenGame · 22/10/2021 02:49

@Bridgey8

Hi guys - has anyone experienced stabby sharp pain (kind of where I would get ovulation pain) - just wondering if it's something to be worried about x
I have had it constantly, daily, and Im 4 weeks or so I think it's normal ? So much information online im confused already x
Tofu35 · 22/10/2021 05:52

Another day waking up at 5am! If this goes as normal, I'll be asleep again around 7 and sleep until 10.

Luckily I've taken a few days holiday so can enjoy this strange sleep pattern I've developed!

Imhereforthecake · 22/10/2021 06:25

@Tofu35 yes to the weird sleeping! I keep waking up so so early but then I'm shattered by lunch time!

i123i · 22/10/2021 07:35

@laurenGame - yes I’ve been getting those slight abdominal pains a bit too (and I’m 4w+1). Think it’s normal too as long as it’s not crazy painful?

Stargazer89 · 22/10/2021 07:49

@laurenGame the stabbing pains are totally normal and I am also having them.

@Tofu35 I am also struggling with sleep and feeling generally shattered but my daughter is also going through a sleep regression and is waking every night at least twice a night 😫 so i am not sure if if that’s the reason for my tiredness or the pregnancy (omg sounds so weird me saying that, I still can’t believe I am pregnant lol)

Are people planning on telling anyone early or waiting until after 12 week scan?

We are off on holiday tomorrow with family and it’s going to be pretty obvious when I am offered a drink and I politely decline lol.

I am 35 and soon to be 36. Had first at 34 and my age wasn’t mentioned at all, so don’t worry if any of you are feeling like older mums x

TinyTickler · 22/10/2021 08:07

@Stargazer89 I would just tell them. My family know and about 5 friends do too. I've never understood the whole keeping it secret until your 12 weeks thing, if it
Goes wrong you need your friends and family to support you
