I did a self referral at 5 weeks exactly , 7 weeks tomorrow and heard nothing. Said it would take 5 working days to hear so I'm not sure if I should chase? It's still early but if it takes weeks to get an appointment....

Prema112 · 21/10/2021 16:58

@rathernotshare have you checked your spam? I found my welcome email in my spam and I've heard nothing since, that was about a week ago

Prema112 · 21/10/2021 16:59

@Bridgey8 I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping for a beautiful scan for you x

rathernotshare · 21/10/2021 17:02

@Prema112 they didn't take my email, just my phone number!

Turniptracker · 21/10/2021 17:09

@rathernotshare I didn't have to fill in an email either but I did get a text 5 working days later to sort an appointment time out. Much more inconvenient than an email as rarely any signal at my house! I am going in holiday at 8 weeks so having to wait til I'm 9+5 for first appointment. Not heard anything at all about a scan but having an early one privately on Sunday for a first wedding anniversary gift for me and hubs (technically you get a paper scan!)

rathernotshare · 21/10/2021 17:20

@Turniptracker yeah I thought why not just use email? If they ring me, I'm very unlikely to answer as I'll be working! I don't need the appointments imminently, just some confirmation I'm in the system would be nice. First pregnancy and not even been advised to take folic acid yet (which I have been for years, but no one knows that?)

Bridgey8 · 21/10/2021 17:20

Thanks for the support everyone xx

Been bleeding all week, not enough to leak into underwear but there every time I wipe ☹️ Mostly stringy blood, some brown some red. Got a scan tomorrow and I’m assuming the worst, anyone had this before? I’m about six weeks

hellointhere · 21/10/2021 17:52

I hope everyone that's been feeling anxious had a relaxing day. I know it might be stating the obvious but walking is helping me. I went out again today and it took my mind away from my body for a bit. When I'm sat for a while I think I get hyper focused on any sensation, and assume the worst.
I had a MC in August and every time I feel any pain I just feel dread. Other than that my only other symptom is that I am hungry and thirsty all the time! I am 7 weeks.

MO22 · 21/10/2021 17:59
@Bridgey8 - sending you strength and prayers for tomorrow 🙏🏻

I just completed the online NHS ante-natal self referral for the first appointment. Did anyone else do this and how long did they take to respond? Or did you all call the midwife unit directly?
I sent it by email a week ago. Heard nothing, so sent an email chaser today and they came back straight away and scanned in the appointments they've booked me which are apparently in the post!

I'm so pleased I chased! Can't believe I have a 12 week scan on 8th Nov, blowing my mind a little bit!

Still zero sign of my TLF badge tho Grin

MO22 · 21/10/2021 17:59

Oops 8th Dec not Nov! Def not that far along sadly

Definitely chase! So worthwhile than not knowing.
Stargazer89 · 21/10/2021 18:02

Hi everyone, congratulations on all the lovely news. I have just found out we are pregnant with baby no2. Our DD is 15 months and I feel so emotional thinking how this is going to change her little world but also delighted too. My last period was 5 weeks ago but my periods have been a bit over the place since covid have so not sure when I ovulated. On one calculator is says due date 22nd june on another 26th.
So far i feel tired and sore boobs, with my DD i had zero symptoms x

Stargazer89 · 21/10/2021 18:03

Also we are off on holiday with family at weekend so not sure if we will be able to hide it x

Prema112 · 21/10/2021 18:07

@1stTimeTina I had bleeding from 5 to nearly 6 weeks and at my scan (6+5) all was fine and they couldn't see any evidence of the bleeding 🤷‍♀️

Unarosaes · 21/10/2021 18:15

A bit of a random one... I've read that a possible symptom is kind of metallic taste in your mouth. Well, I have a weird taste, but as I'd I had been eating mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, etc). I get it specially in the afternoons. Does anyone else have some weird taste in their mouth? I don't expect anyone to feel like they just had some walnuts, but maybe someone else has a non-metallic but still not regular taste in their mouth?

CurryandSnuggle · 21/10/2021 18:17

@Prema112 oh that’s excellent news! For some reason I thought your scan was tomorrow. Glad it’s all come back ok Flowers

@ Unarosaes I’ve got a non/metallic but pretty funky taste in my mouth recently, horrible!

Thanks @Prema112 that gives me a small bit of hope! I’ve been in tears today, been trying to ignore it all week and it’s just got to the point now where I can’t, hopefully get some clarity tomorrow

Prema112 · 21/10/2021 18:18

@CurryandSnuggle My 8 week scan is tmw 😊

CurryandSnuggle · 21/10/2021 18:36

@1stTimeTina aww, I have been having bleeding for a week but I went for scan and baby is fine with heartbeat, the bleeding is not coming from my womb. Most likely cervical issue but presents no risk to the baby.

Hope it’s the same for you Flowers

@CurryandSnuggle ah that’s good news! Starting to get a small amount of hope! Thank you

Unarosaes · 21/10/2021 19:05

@curryandsnuggle great hear I'm not the only one

@1stTimeTina I hope your scan goes really well tomorrow. Dealing with uncertainty is so hard, it makes the wait unbearable. Just one more sleep now

UnknownFemale01 · 21/10/2021 19:06

Hello Smile is it ok if I join? I am currently 5 weeks pregnant with my first and I just turned 35. Does that make me geriatric Grin

I have had to tell my boss at work as I work in a prison health centre....she hasn't done my risk assessment yet but I already feel a bit funny about the risk of violence, it's terrible in the prison at the moment, that and Covid!

Anyone else still peeing on sticks?! Have booked a scan at 7 weeks for reassurance...

Clomid1 · 21/10/2021 19:17

@MrsNT Did you get a call from EPU.

Congratulations to everyone that’s joined 🥳
