@4thtimethecharm I am also spotting brown today, they really didn’t seem to think it was a big deal though. Congrats on your heartbeat too, that is reassuring.
Thanks everyone, I’m just hoping to relax a little.
@PeeAche my nails were my treat to myself!! Halloween Grin

CurryandSnuggle · 03/11/2021 15:59

@HWka yay that’s fantastic, so happy for you! Love the nails Grin

@czycoup I had an early scan due to spotting a few weeks ago and there was a heartbeat so I’ve decided that we will tell DH’s parents when we see them for his dads birthday in a couple of weeks although 12 week scan is just after this (5 days after we’re due to visit).

I will then tell everyone else (my family and our extended families and friends, and employers) and probably do a Facebook announcement following 12 week scan.

@CurryandSnuggle that's so exciting. Glad the early scan went ok. Do you know when you are due?

Clomid1 · 03/11/2021 16:12

Does anyone else sleep on their stomach? I literally sleep on my stomach with one knee kind of raised in an L shape and then my husband puts his legs on top of me 😂. This can’t be good for the baby so we start off lying done on our sides but wake up in that position. Don’t know what to do?

CurryandSnuggle · 03/11/2021 16:12

@czycoup didn’t get given a due date at scan as they said they do that at the 12 week scan and it’s more accurate at the 12 week scan as size is quite variable early on.

According to NHS calculator it should be 5th June but midwife at booking said 2nd June lol. She didn’t ask me how long my cycle is though, when I put my cycle length as 31 (instead of 28) into NHS calculate it puts it at 5th June. Oh well I guess I’ll get a more accurate one in a couple of weeks Smile

@Clomid1 I don’t sleep on my stomach but I would suggest reading this article is as it is quite insightful: www.tommys.org/pregnancy-information/im-pregnant/sleep-side/sleep-position-pregnancy-qa

I read it the other day as I sometimes find myself sleeping on my back which isn’t good in second and third trimester.

@CurryandSnuggle I had a private scan and it was 2 days out from what I thought. I have another scan on Friday so will be interesting to see what I'm measuring then.

CurryandSnuggle · 03/11/2021 16:23

@czycoup at my early scan I was measuring 6 days out, should have been 8 weeks, they said 7+1. I’m not sure how it all works really as my period was 26th Aug, so should have been 8 weeks at the time. I couldn’t have actually conceived before 13th September though as I had a copper coil fitted and only got it removed on 13th. I must have literally conceived straight away.

Due to close family and friends knowing our ivf we told them as soon as we had our positive test. I've told my management too and will tell others after our scan at 9 weeks.

We won't be doing a social media post as having seen so many whilst going through ivf and infertility I f**king hate them.

Everyone who matters will be told and that's all that matters to us.

Each to their own though.

X

czycoup · 03/11/2021 16:32

@unknownscot I get that. I don't think we are doing any big social media announcement. A guy at work emailed round his wife's scan pic to the company to announce their pregnancy. It was right after I had a MC and I just felt awful so it's made me a bit more wary.

Vimto1991 · 03/11/2021 16:53

@Clomid1 I have a C shaped pregnancy pillow I bought for bad back ache that’ll come in handy with this pregnancy. It keeps me on my side so may be worth looking into! Amazon sells it :)

This cramping that I am getting feels like a knot just by my knicker line on the left side of my body now 😭 keep getting scared to go to the toilet in case I see bleeding. Does anyone else have this sharp, almost pulsating knotting feeling? It keeps coming and going throughout the day, been around for the last three days. It’s making me so anxious. 😭

PeeAche · 03/11/2021 16:58

@Clomid1 I'm a committed lifelong stomach sleeper too. (I call mine the superman, because one of my arms goes under the pillow like superman flying through the air)

I'm not worrying too much. My baby is currently about as big as a ladybird and doesn't know which way is up. I need sleep so I shall sleep. I figure that it'll all come out right once I can't comfortably sleep on my stomach anyway.

I am a bit worried about how well I will sleep at 9 months, when I can't drift off in my favourite position though.

czycoup · 03/11/2021 17:01

@Vimto1991 I feel like I constantly have some sort of cramping going on. I think it's just where everything is growing and stretching. Have you spoken to a midwife about it?

Vimto1991 · 03/11/2021 17:13

@czycoup hopefully just growing pains! I haven’t spoken to the midwife, I’m a bit socially anxious and nervous id be bugging her about a normal thing that happens to everyone 😅 I should probably talk to her tomorrow if the pain persists. I was just seeing how I went as there’s no bleeding at the moment.

PeeAche · 03/11/2021 17:31

I'm getting the pains too, @Vimto1991 . Yesterday I had one so bad I was convinced it must be something terrible. It wasn't just tugging and stretching but like a stabbing, shooting pain that took my breath away. No bleeding and normal service has resumed with the tugging etc. So I don't know.

One thing I will say is that I've not had these pains with either of my previous miscarriages and this is the furthest I've ever made it into a pregnancy. So I feel like they must be good news. 🤞

Vimto1991 · 03/11/2021 17:37

@PeeAche yes that sounds like what I’m having! Dull otherwise but sometimes a sharp stabbing. Comes and goes! Hopefully means we are completely normal (and probably unfortunate to be getting these pains!) 🤞

Roxystar23 · 03/11/2021 17:53

Hi Everyone! I’ve just caught up on this thread - nice to E-meet you all!

To cut a long story short - I came off the pill & didn’t have a period for 18 months & then suddenly had a bleed every day for 4 months. This was put to a stop by taking a course of norethisterone. I had various scans and procedures at the hospital as they were concerned about tissue build up & potential fibroids and one dr even suggested I might have PCOS. I was then put on the waitlist for the fertility clinic. My GP then suggested for me to take another course of norethisterone to prevent further tissue build up. This time around I didn’t have a bleed & became increasingly concerned. I then started to get waves of nausea throughout the day & couldn’t fathom why. I peed on a stick and felt confident that it would be negative but ended up being shocked to my core to see a BFP. I’ve peed on multiple sticks since and used a CB one which stated I was 3+ weeks. As I haven’t had a regular cycle it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how far along I am but as I think I’ve managed to work out the date of conception (and missed norethisterone period) and when the breast tenderness kicked in - I’ve calculated a mid June due date. I’ve got my booking in appointment on 23rd November when I think I will be at 9 weeks but I can’t wait for my “12 week” scan to get more clarity on dates. It’s been a rollercoaster journey for sure!

Apologies for the huge essay!

Turniptracker · 03/11/2021 17:54

Yes to the general constant feeling yuk! Have to survive a long haul flight tomorrow, I've packed a whole bag of random snacks to keep me alive, and 50 sick bags Grin

Clomid1 · 03/11/2021 18:27

@Vimto1991 please can you send me a link to the one you have. There are loads on amazon unsure which one to pick. I might wait for 12 weeks and then invest

@PeeAche I don’t know what to call my sleeping position? The squished frog? 😅

Glad I am not the only person that sleeps like that.

@CurryandSnuggle thanks for the link. That’s reassuring.

Vimto1991 · 03/11/2021 18:34

@Clomid1
It’s this one! I find it really comfy and don’t roll onto my stomach with it and end up twisting my back. I’m like you and a little scared of crushing the little bub but this does seem to help.

RoseValleyRambles · 03/11/2021 18:39

So today I had a pret chicken salad and two mugs of peppermint tea - and one of them has given me a couple of hours off from nausea. Either that or sheer coincidence. Hoping it's the tea as that's much cheaper to take on a daily basis...

CurryandSnuggle · 03/11/2021 18:58

@Roxystar23 aww fab, what a lovely surprise for you. Congratulations and welcome to the group! Grin

I can't stop thinking about Yorkshire puddings. Day and night.

Last night my DH made this roast dinner that he served with homemade Yorkshires (at my request) and there were 2 spare which I wrapped up and put in the fridge.

He's just said that we can have those 2 tomorrow with something for dinner. And I agreed.

Problem is, I already ate them today. I secretly scoffed them. Dry. With salt. 😳

CurryandSnuggle · 03/11/2021 20:28

@PeeAche Cook some up tomorrow: heat the oil super hot, then put your mix in (so it doesn’t stick). 25 mins in oven on 200 degrees fan. Recipe I use is this one and they’re perfect every time, don’t forget to season the batter with salt and pepper (as it doesn’t say it in the recipe but would be awfully bland without)!
