Is anyone so nauseous that they aren't eating? I've only felt this way the last couple days and I'm feeling so so drained. X

PleaseSendNoodles · 31/10/2021 14:00

Hey everyone. Sorry I’ve been so quiet! Thinking of all of you who have concerns. Anyone else thought they’d be a chilled out during pregnancy? 🙈

I went to the Emergency Room (living in the States) on Friday. I was worried about the ongoing intense cramps I’ve been having. They wake me every night. I’ve also been a bit dizzy. The clinic I’m registered with (but haven’t actually been to yet) told me to go to the ER. Had a load of tests done but they couldn’t find a cause but they think the pregnancy looks okay for now. I didn’t ask about whether they could see a heartbeat/fetal pole etc and now I’m annoyed at myself! But hoping they would have said if it wasn’t normal?!

@unknownscot Urgh Im sorry you’re having that. It’s awful. I’ve been prescribed vitamin B6 and it seems to be helping. I take 25mg 4 times a day. I guess you’ve tried nibbling crackers / sucking on polos?

Unarosaes · 31/10/2021 17:41

@unknownscot this sickness deal is horrible. I thought it would be randomly feeling sick and maybe retching or being sick, but something sporadic and short lived. The best I could describe how I feel is like a constant feeling of motion sickness. The only time it goes away is right after I have eaten something, so I am mostly eating through the nausea...

Unarosaes · 31/10/2021 17:45

@PleaseSendNoodles pregnancy is teaching me that I am the least chill person in the world. The moment I get reassurance on one thing, I find a new reason to worry. I had a scan on Friday (which thankfully went well) and on the way home I was already regretting not asking for the heart rate, exact size of everything.... this afternoon I started worrying about chromosomal issues... I have my 12 week scan on 1st December. Seems like November 2021 will be the longest month of my life

Unarosaes · 31/10/2021 17:47

I am pretty sure if they had seen anything concerning they would have mentioned it. When I had things look worrying during my last pregnancy, I was told by the ER doctor there and then

PleaseSendNoodles · 31/10/2021 17:52

@Unarosaes Im glad it’s not just me! I guess it’s something we have very little control over which is why it’s so hard!

Yeah - that makes sense. Surely if things looked dodgy they’d tell me 🤞🏻

My 11 week scan is a couple of days before yours. Hoping we both find peace and happiness in November!

Unarosaes · 31/10/2021 18:07

Yeah, I am definitely not wired to 'wait and see'. It's so great to have this space and meet others who are going through the same things.

Let's hope we sail through November!! And, if not, we can always share our concerns and reassure each other here! Flowers

Wellthiswasunexpected · 31/10/2021 18:22

@Unarosaes if it makes you feel better I’m the same and I asked about heart rate at my 7 week scan, the midwife laughed at me and said “there’s no way I’d be able to work that out when it’s this small.” :/

I only asked because I saw heart rate mentioned on one of those godforsaken miscarriage calculators so I was super anxious to know! Urgh

PleaseSendNoodles · 31/10/2021 18:26

@Wellthiswasunexpected that’s rude of her to laugh!

My ultrasound tech didn’t say a word to me other than the basic ‘lay down’ / ‘cold gel’ etc. But I don’t think they’re meant to say anything here. Just give the ‘results’ to the doc.

Prema112 · 31/10/2021 18:32

@Unarosaes I'm the same with nausea, only time it really eases is eating so I'm almost constantly eating. But I have to be careful because if I eat too much I feel horrendous!

Sorry tmi, anyone else feeling pressure in their vagina/cervix? It's quite disconcerting, I've not experienced it in pregnancy before

Prema112 · 31/10/2021 18:34

@Wellthiswasunexpected they definitely can, the machine tells them! I got a heart rate at my 6+5 scan. Maybe the particular machine they used can't measure it...

Prema112 · 31/10/2021 18:36

@beansprout55 thanks for the book recommendation looks great! I hope your spotting has stopped and you are feeling more peaceful

Wellthiswasunexpected · 31/10/2021 18:40

@Prema112 oh man :( well that sucks.

Prema112 · 31/10/2021 18:42

@Wellthiswasunexpected it sucks that she laughed at you, she should have explained why she couldn't get a reading

Unarosaes · 31/10/2021 18:52

@Prema112 when I eat too much its back to feeling sick right after eating. I hope it eases off sooner rather than later... can't wait for the first trimester to finish!!

I have had on and off cramps around the groin area since about 5 weeks, I don't know if that's what you mean by pressure?

@Wellthiswasunexpected sorry to hear the sonographer laughed. My doctor was super dry and took ages to tell me whether there was something in my gestational sac or not (I had a blighted ovum in May and was super scared of having it happen again). I guess for them it's daily routine and they can forget what an anxious time it can be (especially when it's close to finishing time on Friday eve, which ws my case!)

Prema112 · 31/10/2021 19:00

@Unarosaes Yes exactly the same with the eating!

Hmmm no it's not cramps, it's like a constant pressure, feels like everything is swollen, which I suppose it probably is!

Oh my word I can't bear it when they are slow to say what they can see on the ultrasound it's the worst

rathernotshare · 31/10/2021 19:03

I was asked why I was having an early scan (I paid for it so never you mind!) and was also called dramatic, drama Queen, high maintenance girlfriend (to my husband and partner of 10 years) and asked 'how will you cope with labour' because I went a bit queasy at being told I had a grapefruit sized cyst living in me that explained the hell of TTC for 2 years and thinking I was infertile. Would not recommend that place!

RoseValleyRambles · 31/10/2021 19:13

@rathernotshare That sounds awful. I'd complain: it's not fair to treat anytime like that in a medical setting and they shouldn't be allowed to carry on doing it. I'm sorry they were so unkind.

RoseValleyRambles · 31/10/2021 19:13

Thanks @beansprout55 - that looks fab.

Prema112 · 31/10/2021 19:15

@rathernotshare 😧 That's so bad! I'd complain, especially as you are paying for it!!

rathernotshare · 31/10/2021 19:22

Trouble is, i feel like complaining would prove her right about me being a drama Queen! I have low blood pressure and so prone to fainting, which is even worse since being pregnant. She wouldn't have known that and just saw a young face (I have a baby face but I'm 27!) I have to book extra time for my blood tests because of this and I've always had such caring treatment from NHS nurses.

RT65 · 31/10/2021 19:49

@rathernotshare - I completely agree that's not ok, is there any chance she thought she was being friendly and it came across badly? I'm with you on not wanting to complain, but then if they don't get feedback how will they know?

Also, on a bit of lighter note... I've had a terrible new symptom arrive today ladies. As a life long ketchup fan, I can no longer stand the smell of it!!! Sad Worse still, I only realised after covering my sandwich with it!! I am GUTTED, my OH wasn't though as he got an extra sandwich Hmm

Really feeling for those of you struggling with bad nausea, as I know this is just a fraction of what those with bad pregnancy sickness are going through!!!

Wellthiswasunexpected · 31/10/2021 20:00

@rathernotshare that is horrific treatment! Wow

HarrysMummy17 · 31/10/2021 23:45

@Brightsmoke

Hello everyone, can I join in?

I've just had a scan, 7 weeks 2 days, so due 6th June.

I currently have a 4yr old boy, and this is somewhat of a surprise pregnancy, hence the early dating scan.

How is every doing? I've been suffering with morning sickness a lot recently but hoping is subsides soon

Hi! I'm due 6th June too! ☺️.

This is my third pregnancy and this time round I'm feeling so nauseous all the time!
I really hope it passes soon 😭

CurryandSnuggle · 01/11/2021 02:48

@Prema112 I am getting that pressure on my cervix as well on and off. It was one of my first symptoms this pregnancy. It’s weird but I’m guessing it’s normal.

(Messaging late as I can’t sleep, got a damn tickly cough)
