@Tofu35 omg 2 weeks! That must be SUCH a relief, woohoo

JuniperAndTonic · 29/10/2021 12:44

I’m 6+1 and just started to have some light brown discharge, only on wiping Sad so so worried but everything says it can be normal and only to worry if it’s fresh red blood or accompanied by pain. Any positive stories to reassure me?? Or should I contact the GP anyway bearing in mind it’s Friday so won’t be able to contact anyone tomorrow if it gets worse!

CurryandSnuggle · 29/10/2021 12:47

@rathernotshare congratulations!! 🙂 did the hospital explain why you need to see your GP and what can be done? Hope you’re ok.

@Tofu35 whoop whoop!! Grin bet you feel more comfortable now!

@JuniperAndTonic Aww, it is so worrying when this happens but please don’t panic, probably about a third of us on here has had similar (me included) with a positive outcome. It can just be your cervix where the hormones are affecting it. But I feel your worry!!!

CurryandSnuggle · 29/10/2021 12:51

@JuniperAndTonic further to my previous message, please contact your GP though as they’re likely to organise a referral to the EPU for an early scan to check that everything is ok. Good luck xxx

To the people with HG I whole heartedly salute you, I don't know how you do it, you are amazing! Waking up with nausea and spending each morning retching is making me thoroughly miserable. Dextrose energy tablets have become my best friend and the only thing I can stomach with my cup of tea til about 11am. Then I have to break out the babybels. My offspring only seems to want dairy despite me being intolerant to it Blush which would explain why I'm constantly the exact opposite of constipated Grin.
Currently trying to formulate a plan of attack for my 13 hour plane journey next week for our honeymoon. Rip me

PeeAche · 29/10/2021 12:57

@JuniperAndTonic it could be completely normal. Try to stay calm. It's generally only time to worry if cramping begins. There are dozens of stories all over MN of women having bleeding and going on to have normal healthy pregnancies.

I miscarried over a weekend and found the best course of action was the out of hours number at my community midwives. I am not saying this because I think you are miscarrying btw. Just giving all the info I have for you to make informed choices about phoning GP. I don't find GP in my my area to be very good at all with early pregnancy stuff. It's like pulling teeth.

rathernotshare · 29/10/2021 12:59

@CurryandSnuggle it was a private place so she said I need a gp to refer me to a gynae who will make a decision whether to drain it or not. I asked if I'd be knocked out for the draining and she said no they'll just put a big needle in my stomach, so that's me feeling extra nauseous today 🤢

Tofu35 · 29/10/2021 13:00

@curryandsnuggle @wellthiswasunexpected my poor husband gets a daily update on any bowel movement. He was very happy for me (and for him as it means I don't need to keep complaining!). I knew this group would understand this mini-win :)

PeeAche · 29/10/2021 13:00

I'm having a bit of a panic myself - I woke up in the night with very very low down pain. It feels like it's under my mons pubis and it's sharp and stabby. It comes and goes. Can't find anything useful on Google. No bleeding. Am I okay?

PeeAche · 29/10/2021 13:01

@Tofu35 congrats on "shifting the load". Nobody could have prepared me for how uncomfortable constipation would be during early pregnancy.

Wellthiswasunexpected · 29/10/2021 13:19

Omg, @PeeAche I had loads of pain there last week! Couldn’t for the life of me think of what the location was called though. Got as desperate as “pee bone”. Just looked up mons pubis…that’s it! Hopefully harmless and will fade away for you too, keeping my fingers crossed.

JuniperAndTonic · 29/10/2021 13:30

Thanks everyone. I contacted the GP and they’ve referred me to EPAU and booked me for an early scan on Tuesday 😬 now just got to try and not worry over the weekend and hope it doesn’t get any worse!! Thanks for the reassuring words and advice!

Prema112 · 29/10/2021 13:32

@JuniperAndTonic I'm so sorry you are spotting but please try not to panic. Spotting in early pregnancy does not make it any more likely that you will miscarry. I know how horrible it is, I've had 3 separate spotting episodes (2 bright red, 1 with cramping) in this pregnancy and 2 scans which showed a healthy growing embryo. I would monitor it and get an early scan booked if it will help you relax a bit

Prema112 · 29/10/2021 13:33

Oh my word my nausea has just stepped up a notch at 9 weeks, I'm so glad I'm off work this week not sure what I'm gonna do next week 🤢

RoseValleyRambles · 29/10/2021 13:46

@juniperandtonic exact same here, brown spotting since conception pretty much. The consultant I saw wasn't too phased, as she says plenty of people bleed a bit - or a lot! - without issues. They're just keeping a slightly closer eye on me than usual until it stops (going back in a week). Hope you manage to relax over the weekend - it's horrible waiting.

pregnancydiaries · 29/10/2021 13:50

Good news about the scan @rathernotshare, I’m sure the cyst is something they are well versed in so don’t let that dampen your wonderful news today!

@PeeAche yes I had one last night about my ex 😂😂 kept that one quiet from OH x

RoseValleyRambles · 29/10/2021 13:53

@peeache sorry, that sounds stressful. Not something I've encountered unless it goes under the title of "random pregnancy pain", which I think is quite a big bucket. Could just be things growing? I think pain sharp enough to wake you up is ok to call the midwife about for reassurance particularly if it continues.

PeeAche · 29/10/2021 14:04

@Wellthiswasunexpected I had those parents that embraced nudity, told me what sex was at 5 and gave everything it's proper name instead of calling them "tinkles and winkies" or whatever.

It was mortifying for me as a teenager but now I'm an adult and I can identify my mons pubis as readily as my ear lobe, I guess it's paid off. 😂😂😂

I think this may well come under the umbrella of "random pregnancy pain", as long as I'm not bleeding or feeling faint, according to NHS direct questionnaire. 🤔I'm just so anxious.

On a brighter note: Just knocked over an old beer barrel in our cellar when I was looking for empty jam jars. The little red thing on the side made a hissing noise and then manky old beer started going everywhere. The yeasty smell was unreal. I called for DH but it was too late. I looked down at the pool of beer and promptly vomited on top of it. Then I burst into tears.

I'm now back up in the sitting room listening to DH downstairs, retching and trying to clear it up.

I just heard him shout "it's on the Christmas wine!!!"

First world problems, eh?

4thtimethecharm · 29/10/2021 16:05

@PeeAche, I am in the same boat as you. Once in a while a few sharp stabby pains, in my case at the left side only. I am having a viability scan on Monday morning at 6+2 (due to recurrent pregnancy loss) and am going to ask about it.

Wellthiswasunexpected · 29/10/2021 18:02

@PeeAche Oh my that beer story is tragic but hilarious 😂 not the Christmas wine! Bless you.

Wellthiswasunexpected · 29/10/2021 18:04

@rathernotshare Hope everything goes well with the GP. Please do share what they recommend as mine is the same size so now I’m worried about being dismissed!

CurryandSnuggle · 29/10/2021 18:34

@PeeAche hahaha I am so sorry but that beer story has had me in stitches! Grin You poor thing!!

MrsNT · 29/10/2021 18:43

@peeache probably not at that time but Im sure you will remember this and laugh about it ..a moment to remember indeed 😂

sunflower198 · 29/10/2021 19:09

Anybody else super tired?
I've been going to bed at 8pm and getting 12 hours sleep and I'm still shattered.
I didn't even work today and I was ready for bed tonight before my toddler 😴
