@Bubbles1st will let you know later how it goes. Try & keep smiling, not long to go now

Kirky658 · 28/07/2021 09:28

Hope everyone is OK. I had the worst night sleep I've had yet last night. Up four times, thirsty, needing the loo, boiling hot and sweaty too. Grim. I was awake for over an hour at 4am and just couldn't get back to sleep. Feel so rough today as a result. Can't wait to finish work now. Off next week then I have one more week.. X

Suma2021 · 28/07/2021 09:53

@SillyBry @FTEngineerM Thanks so much for your input, puppy pads - what a wonderful idea! Even working in a vet I would've never thought to use them in a million years but actually I think that may be the multipurpose solution I'm looking for Grin

@Kirky658 I can sympathise on the sleep front, waking up loads to pee, last night I had to make myself a big glass of juice as was so thirsty and every night I wake up between 4am-6am and can't sleep for at least an hour thinking about everything and anything. Had to buy a cotton sheet to sleep under instead of anything thicker and get a massive fan placed next to the bed otherwise I get ridiculously hot and uncomfortable.

I'm sorry you still have to work when you're getting such poor sleep. It really does make you feel awful all day. I hope you get a better night sleep tonight and rest next week. Star

Mrsserenalewis · 28/07/2021 11:54

Can I join please. Finding this pregnancy very isolating. Be lovely to talk to other mummies to be. This is my fourth (not planned)
I’m due 28th September (though likely to be induced 2weeks early) x

SP2Bx · 28/07/2021 13:09

I was planning on using puppy pads 🙈 not overly precious about our mattress, we need a new one really so might force us into it if it gets ruined 😂

@Kirky658 Oh sorry to hear you had such a bad night! I too am having some weird hot flushes lately! And the breathlessness at the minute is UNREAL.

Had my scan today to check my placenta had moved away from my cervix which it has thankfully :) Baby measuring all good and 4lb 1oz at 32 weeks! When doing the femur measurement she was scanning right up in my ribs with baby being head down, so that explains the breathing issues!!!

Welcome @Mrsserenalewis ❤️ sorry to hear you're feeling a bit isolated. We're a friendly group so you've come to the right place ☺️

FTEngineerM · 28/07/2021 14:09

Just saw this and the accuracy made me laugh 😂. Now absolutely petrified because I’d managed to forget most.

BABIES / / 22 ways to prepare for a baby:

  1. Set an alarm for every 2 hours. Make sure the alarm is all the way up.
  2. Fall asleep 5 minutes before said alarm goes off.
  3. Make 20 cups of coffee and don’t drink any of them.
  4. Unless they get cold. Then by all means enjoy.
  5. Wake up in the middle of the night and yell “Where’s the baby?!”
  6. Get dressed and then pour milk on your shirt.
  7. Pour milk on the bed.
  8. Pour milk on the floor.
  9. Cut your nipples with cute, little razor blades.
10. Don’t shower. 11. Actually, go ahead and shower. Once every 5 days or so. 12. Oh, and get out with shampoo still in your hair. 13. Cry a lot. 14. Put a load of laundry in the washer and forget about it for a few days. Then remember, re-wash, and repeat. 15. Stop brushing your teeth. 16. Practice googling things like “normal poop color”, “why does my baby hate me”, “will I ever sleep again”, and “how to put my baby back inside of me”. 17. Watch your husband sleep peacefully and plot his death. 18. Hit him when he starts snoring and then ignore him when he wakes up confused. 19. Eat. Everything. In. Sight. 20. ^ One-handed. 21. Say you’re going to leave the house and then don’t. 22. Stay in your pyjamas forever.
Kirky658 · 28/07/2021 15:17

@sp2bx breathlessness awful here too, my little one is head down so must be a common thing! Good news about your placenta too that must be a huge weight off your shoulders.

@ftengineerm oh that made me chuckle🤣

newmummy899 · 28/07/2021 17:37

Hi everyone,
How is everyone doing in terms of fundal height measurements? I have been booked in for growth scans. Not sure what to expect.

SP2Bx · 28/07/2021 18:01

@newmummy899 My FH measurement last week plotted baby on 97th centile, my scan today plotted baby just below 50th!

That's generally a similar story for most people I've heard who have been referred, which says it all really... fundal height is hugely inaccurate! Fingers crossed it's the same for you and everything is fine :)

Hopefulmummie · 28/07/2021 18:16

Finally out of isolation just in time for growth scan today. Baby girl measuring 5lb already!

September 2021 - Thread 7 is here
newmummy899 · 28/07/2021 18:24

Hopefully! I'm feeling anxious but trying not to worry too much. My last appointment which was 2 weeks ago the measurement has stayed the same.

AdventuresAwait · 28/07/2021 18:33

Yay @Hopefulmummie! Glad you got to go to your growth scan. Lovely pic xx

SP2Bx · 28/07/2021 18:37

Aw yay @Hopefulmummie ! That's a much clearer picture than we got today - I had a right Rachel from Friends moment 😂 How many weeks are you? I'm exactly 32 today and baby weighed 4lbs 1oz

FTEngineerM · 28/07/2021 18:37

That’s lush you get pictures at growth scans too! And seeing them kicking away must be nice 😍

Hopefulmummie · 28/07/2021 18:39

@SP2Bx im 33 weeks tomorrow.. Consultant said she's heading towards bigger percentile

MrsTD88 · 28/07/2021 20:20

Hey @Mrsserenalewis I think I'm on another thread you're on. We're due a day apart 😁 this thread is very active and great for comfort and reassurance.

@FTEngineerM that is so true!!

@Hopefulmummie aww amazing 😍

I have my next growth scan on Monday at 32 weeks then heading off on holiday. Had anyone who is having an elective section been booked in yet? I'm hoping they'll book me in if all is well on Monday 🤞🏻

AdventuresAwait · 28/07/2021 20:32

@MrsTD88, yes I'm booked in for an elective c-section. Got my date at my growth scan and GD consultant appointment at 31 weeks xx

Kirky658 · 28/07/2021 20:50

Question for those of you who's baby has been confirmed as head down now. Where do you feel your kicks? Midwife said 2 weeks ago that Baby was head down, but I'm feeling the kicks towards the left side of my belly button. I'm bouncing on my exercise ball each evening, just in case!

bewitchingnight · 28/07/2021 21:02

Ah lovely photo @Hopefulmummie and happy end of isolation! I didn't get a pic at my growth scan but tbh I couldn't really work out what I was looking at when they were doing it! Haha!

@Kirky658 I feel mine on the right a few inches higher than my belly button - apparently that's where her legs are, but also a fair amount a couple of inches lower than belly button on the left because she's head down but on a slight diagonal. I have an anterior placenta so don't know if that makes a difference to how much I can feel at the moment.

Noodles4Me · 28/07/2021 21:09

@MrsTD88 yes, me too. Booked in for my ELCS. Was booked at my 34 week growth scan.

36 weeks tomorrow Shock

Hopefulmummie · 28/07/2021 21:13

@bewitchingnight thank you! I know there wasn't much to see today cause everything is so big on the scrren now

@Kirky658 my baby is head down and kicks always to the left bit higher up than belly button

Kirky658 · 28/07/2021 21:13

@bewitchingnight sounds like our little ones are in a similar position as I sometimes feel twinges to the lower left side too. I think stupidly I thought head down meant exactly that, in the right position and in a straight line lol. X

SillyBry · 28/07/2021 21:18

@Kirky658 Funny you say that as at my last appt (28 weeks), midwife told me that head was down and I was slightly panicking this week that baby has moved and is lying sideways as I get seriously violent kicks to the right of my bellybutton... and quite often I feel pressure on the left side at the same time and I think the baby can't get to both places at once!!
I'm seeing the midwife for my 34 week check on Friday, so I'll know more then!
