Oh good not too many more then, and next time you’ll probably be prepped with snacks/book 😂.

Getting real now we’re nearly into the 30s

CherLW · 21/06/2021 16:10

Glad everyone is getting on well with their scans and measurements!! Getting so close now!!

I’ve got a growth scan tomorrow as I’ve had 2 spouts of reduced movements in 2 weeks and then another one on the 7th for the diabetic side of things.
I’m feeling really nervous about tomorrow, just want to see him now!!

bewitchingnight · 21/06/2021 16:36

Great news for everyone's scans and measurements!

Clouless · 21/06/2021 17:12

Hi everyone! Glad to hear growth scans went well. 27 weeks tomorrow here. Should I be embracing the final week of my second trimester?! Slightly apprehensive about teaching after 28 weeks with this new variant but not much I can do about it Smile. Not at all organised here either. I have a few little babygrows and nothing else. I postponed pram shopping to watch the football last week haha! What a terrible mother! Hope you're all okay x

crobo87 · 21/06/2021 18:10

@Bubbles1st that's great news about your growth scan!
I had my GTT today. Passed out waiting the 2 hours 😳
Mixture of heat, masks and hunger I think. Appointment was 9.30 but didn't have first bloods till 10.10 and was already starving, was after after about 10 mins and waiting in a seperate room on a bed to have my last bloods. Now to wait for the results 🤞🏻

Bubbles1st · 21/06/2021 18:13

@crobo87 oh no I did see your post on FB! Pleased you're ok now and hope it's negative after all that!

Great news @Bubbles1st. I had a scan on my placenta a fortnight ago to check it had moved up, which it had thankfully. I have my first growth scan on Thursday so 🤞it will all be ok. I will heed the advice and take some snacks.

On another note I had ordered a holdall bag for me to pack as my hospital bag and it came today with the matching washbag I ordered. Totally frivolous to be honest but it is so pretty. I've had a really stressful time at work lately and it has cheered me up no end!

Sceptre86 · 21/06/2021 18:40

@crobo87 hope you are OK after all that and that the results are negative x

Rach921 · 21/06/2021 18:44

Thanks @Bubbles1st

I find it strange how all trusts are different with scans - mine only do 12 and 20 weeks. My friends also do a 36 week. I’ve not been offered any growth scans so it felt so odd knowing that after the 20 week scan there’s no more! I’ve booked a private scan just for some reassurance next week

AdventuresAwait · 21/06/2021 18:49

That's great @Bubbles1st!

Raem1 · 21/06/2021 18:54

Happy third (or almost third) trimester everyone! Time is flying..

Has anyone been getting braxton hicks? This is my first and I’ve been getting them since last Friday night when I was 28 weeks.. started in the night 30 secs after I’ve been for a wee. Had them day and night ever since. Slept terribly since because they disturb my sleep. I can tell dehydration makes them worse - 3 nights ago they were painful but I’ve since sipped water through the night and turned my fan off and they’re back to painless tightenings. I’ll get them after I’ve weed about 70% of the time but then sometimes just randomly through the day. Anyone else? I tried to catch my midwife today multiple times but couldn’t get through. Will try again tomorrow.

Kirky658 · 21/06/2021 19:02

@crobo87 oh bless you hun! Hope your test comes back negative at least after all that palaver. I've got mine weds morning.

@raem1 I had something odd yesterday that I think may have been braxton hicks while walking the dog! It went as quickly as it came.

Bubbles1st · 21/06/2021 19:06

@Sceptre86 oh have you got everything to pack the hospital bag?

leftitlate37 · 21/06/2021 19:28

thanks for the new thread! @SillyBry makes me feel better your midwife said that!!! 29 weeks today, literally feel SO UNPREPARED still! prob cos we are...hoped i'd be kicking DH into action this week, but hes still as laid back as ever!
3 trips to the hosp last week for appt, then growth scan, then anti D and bloods. getting an injection in the butt cheek was a surprise haha - there's me worrying about the pants i had on!
@Raem1 is this your first baby? its ours and i have no idea what BH feellike but last day or so decided that what im experiencing must be them, as bumpsuddenly gets really hard and i dont have pain but weird discomfort, and then it goes. havent noticed a pattern to when get mine, they just randomly appear - maybe more when walking/exercising though. hope urs keep being painless and dont stop u sleeping.
hospital bag, eeeeeeek thats something to think about! midwife told me to take my notes when went away - made everything seem a bit more real that babies can kinda come at anytime and if he did anytime soon, we'd be on amazon prime pretty fast!!

leftitlate37 · 21/06/2021 19:31

sorry @Raem1 just seen u said your first!

Squibble84 · 21/06/2021 19:33

Thanks @Bubbles1st glad the scan went well! 🙌

Sceptre86 · 21/06/2021 20:11

Nope @Bubbles1st but the bag is here! I'm going to make a primark trip to see if I can get some maternity pyjamas. If not, then they have some nighties with buttons for feeding and I will just buy the pj bottoms as separates. I have all the wash bag stuff ready to go. I'm hoping this time won't end in a section but if it does from experience at my trust they encourage you to have a shower the next day. Also a reason why I like loose fitting pjs that go high up on my stomach as a waistband near my section scar is painful. I'm 30 weeks on Wednesday so not long to go now and as it is unlikely that I will be allowed to go over due date due to previous birth complications. I'm aiming to have my bag packed by 32 weeks. Baby's bag is another story, I know what I need to pack just need to get it out of storage, wash and iron it. Hoping to have baby's done by 36 weeks at the latest.

Squibble84 · 21/06/2021 20:16

I can’t remember who here is taking daily aspirin? Those on it, have you been advised to stop taking it at 36 weeks?

bewitchingnight · 21/06/2021 20:26

@Squibble84 yeah my prescription is until 36 weeks

@crobo87 oh no! It's so horribly hot in hospital isn't it! Hope you're feeling better now

KHR1 · 21/06/2021 20:49

@Squibble84 I'm on aspirin but have been told to keep taking it until baby is born.

@Raem1 think I've had braxton hicks a few times in the last couple of weeks. My worse one was at night when I ended up being sick because it was so uncomfortable (not sure if the problem was me getting booted by baby at the same time as the tightening). I haven't noticed a pattern to it yet.

Went for a private scan on Sunday and baby wouldn't budge his legs from over his head so we have been invited back a the start of July for a rescan! Little worried as they measured his head and it was coming up as over a week ahead, wasn't expecting it as my DDs head was tiny.

AdventuresAwait · 21/06/2021 20:54

@Squibble84, I'm on aspirin and have been told to take it until delivery.

AdventuresAwait · 21/06/2021 21:06

@KHR1, we went for a 3d scan last Wednesday and baby girl also had her arms completely across her face so we have a rescan next Monday. We tried different things to get her to move but her arms were crossed over her face nearly the whole time!

Our measurements were slightly big too but within normal range so they weren't concerned. Did they tell you which percentile?

Squibble84 · 21/06/2021 21:14

Our measurements were on the big side too, 75th percentile for everything and 100th for belly! I kind of wonder if I need to continue taking the aspirin if my baby is clearly not at risk of being small!

SP2Bx · 21/06/2021 21:26

@Rach921 It's only 12 and 20 week scans where I am too, but because I had a low lying placenta I've been scheduled another to check it's moved at 32 weeks. Otherwise that would've been it!

@Raem1 @leftitlate37 My bump has been going really hard and uncomfortable at times too and then passing quickly. I thought it was where baby was positioned really pushing its back or head out and then they'd move and so it would pass but now you've got me wondering about BH! Still pretty sure it's baby though to be honest, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it!

FTEngineerM · 21/06/2021 21:39

@SP2Bx if it’s the baby then it’s usuall one part hard and the other soft but BH is all tensed up and rock hard, I think someone said it makes them feel like they want to pee, me too 😂. I’ve had them a lot from really early on this time, bit worried but midwife didn’t seem to care.
