@AdventuresAwait they must be comfy all curled up! Hope she moves into a better position for your rescan. We got sent for a 20 minute walk and some sugary snacks but it didn't make a difference. I think the head was about 84th percentile, they never got round to measuring anything else so I can't compare the different parts, the sonographer didn't seem concerned by the size just said it was on the larger side. Got a proper growth scan in a few weeks so hopefully they will get a better look at baby's size.

Hopefulmummie · 21/06/2021 22:14

Great to hear evwryones scans are going great. I hace my growth scan on Wednesday along with my GTT so big day.
At my scan on Friday babys head was measuring 3 weeks ahead but sonographer didnt mention anything so not sure if its anything to worry about? Suppose ill find out more this week

FTEngineerM · 21/06/2021 22:15

@AdventuresAwait ours was like that too, it was a free one though so no rescans but I got 65 photos and some had a peep on the face but mostly arms and legs in the way, he looked cut and cuddled up, heartbeat made me cry. Hope you get more luck at the next one, at least you get to see them again ❤️

Raem1 · 21/06/2021 22:47

@leftitlate37 @Kirky658 @SP2Bx @KHR1 glad to know it’s not just me then! I hadn’t expected to get them this early or quite so many! Don’t mind them during the day but everytime I wake up in the night I end up going for a pee. 8 times is my record. Here’s hoping my uterus decides it’s had enough practice soon Grin

AdventuresAwait · 22/06/2021 00:52

@KHR1, yes they must be comfy! Ours was 79th percentile and they said it wasn't a concern. Also have a growth scan in 2 weeks so will see what they say. Was lovely to see her, even though she was hiding her face, as she did look so cute all curled up.

@FTEngineerM... 65 photos, wow! That's great. It is amazing to hear the heartbeat isn't it?

Kirky658 · 22/06/2021 03:18

Wide awake with heartburn and sweating cobs, pregnancy is so glam!!! I'm on aspirin and asked the MW yesterday she said to keep taking up to birth. X

CherLW · 22/06/2021 11:27

Hope today goes ok for you @GWhiteley not long to wait now!! My scan is at 1:30… I hate afternoon appointments!
This scan is because I’ve had two reduced movements in 2 weeks so hopefully all is ok x

Kirky658 · 22/06/2021 11:48

@gwhiteley @cherlw good luck today ❤️🍀

Anyone else just feel generally rubbish? I feel so run down, not sleeping well and every little thing makes me upset. I feel generally under the weather I just can't put my finger on it. Nausea has come back too and I've got heartburn constantly. Woohooo!

GWhiteley · 22/06/2021 11:53

Thanks @Kirky658 & @CherLW good luck with yours. Mine is at 3.20pm, so counting down the hours! Bit nervous.

@Kirky658 I have found since changing my diet for the gd that my heartburn & acid reflux has reduced to almost nil! But do feel for you as it is miserable.

CherLW · 22/06/2021 11:54

Thanks @Kirky658

Sorry to hear you’re feeling rubbish… I think little sleep effects so much doesn’t it! Hopefully you’ll start feeling more yourself very very soon. Maybe do some things you enjoy, put your feet up and have some tasty treats when you can stomach them. ❤️

CherLW · 22/06/2021 12:00

There is an upto 50% sale on at Mamas and Papas at the moment if anyone is interested! Just bought some cute little clothes for 50% off!

Kirky658 · 22/06/2021 12:15

I forgot to say yesterday my midwife weighed me and I've put 7kg on since my booking appointment, she was very pleased with that and said its well on track so I was very relieved 😂

AdventuresAwait · 22/06/2021 13:13

All the best for today @GWhiteley and @CherLW xx

MrsTD88 · 22/06/2021 13:44

Thank you for the new thread @Bubbles1st glad your growth scan all went well. I have my OGTT on 5th at 9am and then growth scan and consultant at 1pm so going to take plenty of snacks for after the 2 hour bloods and a good book.

@CherLW !GWhiteley hope your scans go well today.

@Crobo87 that sounds awful! Hope you're feeling OK now. I worry about fainting too, they struggle to get my bloods most of the time and last year when taking bloods before a procedure for missed miscarriage I fainted. They gave me toast but won't be allowed that this time 🤣🙈

@Sceptre86 that reminds me I need to order a hospital bag for me and baby! Having an elective so will be in a few days.

@Rach921 mine is the same. I only had scans at 12 and 20 weeks last time. Need to have growth times this time though due to various reasons.

CherLW · 22/06/2021 14:03

Thanks everyone for the messages ❤️ Everything went well and he is perfect, just how he should be and everything is doing what it should be doing in there!!

@GWhiteley it was quite quick really, she checked the measurements, fluid, the cord, weight etc. I had no idea on the screen what things were but it was good to see.
Hopefully yours goes just as well, thinking of you x

D0nut · 22/06/2021 14:11

Hi everyone.

Im so glad the growth scans are going so well. Good luck to anyone with theirs coming up.

I wanted to say how useful I’ve found reading your GD journeys so far. My trust seems to test differently, in 2 weeks time at my 28 week appt I have to eat a sandwich with 2 slices of bread 1-2hrs before the appointment and they will then take my blood. And the result will determine if I have to have the fasting test. It seems really weird to me! I have diabetes in my family and my bmi is always high so I’ve been anxious about it but I’ve been soooo reassured by your posts and tips.

Another thing bothering me is whether to have an elective c-section. I have a pre existing rectocele despite this being my first baby. The consultant who diagnosed me suggested if I got pregnant that I should opt for a CS to minimize further damage, I was really up for this - I don’t want to damage the area more at all. But I feel like my midwife team including consultant seem more on the fence about benefits/recovery. Does anyone have any advice?

AdventuresAwait · 22/06/2021 14:32

That's wonderful @CherLW! Great news xx

Bubbles1st · 22/06/2021 14:48

@CherLW yes so pleased for you, it never stops being a relief or exciting.

@D0nut I have zero advice based on anything other than if I was in your shoes. I certainly would be leaning towards an election section. Vaginal births have the potential to cause damage to healthy women with no concerns and that is already really starting to play on my mind. I would consider weighing up the recovery and long term possible effects of both options with your midwife and maybe she will realise it possibly being fine isn't enough of a reassurance.

bewitchingnight · 22/06/2021 15:34

@CherLW great news on your scan today

For those who have had growth scans do they tell you if they are measuring big or small (or average) whilst the scan takes place? Or do you have to wait and find out afterwards?

@MrsTD88 I fainted at my first blood test and again at the GTT, luckily the weird sugary drink helped in lieu of getting anything to eat!

Kat1112025 · 22/06/2021 15:48

@CherLW 👏 excellent news

SillyBry · 22/06/2021 16:22

@FTEngineerM if it helps, I don’t remember having any BHs with my first, but I’ve had tightenings and stomach hardenings since really early this time! Usually after exercise… or when walking round the supermarket!

Bubbles1st · 22/06/2021 16:40

@bewitchingnight yesterday our sonographer talked us through the whole scan, told us head and belly measurements were spot in, told us the weight was in the ideal range. Then when I saw the midwife she confirmed he was right in the 50th centile for growth.

OP posts:
CherLW · 22/06/2021 17:01

@bewitchingnight when I had mine she told me all that everything was ok and in range when I was there. She told me the weight and said it was a completely normal.
It’s good you don’t have to wait after as that wouldn’t be ideal!

CherLW · 22/06/2021 17:32

I just looked at my notes today and it said baby is 3lbs 8oz… I’m 29+4. The sonographer said this was in normal range but I’ve stupidly been googling and it’s a couple of weeks ahead 😕 I wouldn’t overly worried but the GD side of things with a bigger babe scares me.

Bubbles1st · 22/06/2021 17:33

@CherLW yesterday he told us at 28w 2lb 5 to 3lb 5 was within range so being ahead yours seem ok.
