Hi everyone, following up from our second thread here.

We’re just about through morning sickness and odd early pregnancy symptoms… what will the second trimester bring?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well and excited for your November babies.

Just thought I’d let you know our beautiful triplets arrived last Thursday at 34 weeks and 2 days via planned c section just under 6 weeks before our November due date.

We have a beautiful boy Owen born weighing 5lb 8 oz and two girls Harriet weighing 4lb 14 oz and little Josie who was 4lb 5oz.

We are over the moon and all three babies have been moved from a level 3 critical care nicu to a level 1 in preparation for coming home.

Lizlou85 · 13/10/2021 12:52

@Hannah94L congratulations on the triplets. Love the names.

Katy4321 · 13/10/2021 13:09

@hannah94L that is amazing news - as far as i understand it is really good to get to 34 weeks with triplets and need so little nicu care. I hope you are doing OK too and all the very best with your little ones. X

marykitty · 13/10/2021 13:47

Congratulations @Hanna94L all the best wishes to your family!

Yogity · 13/10/2021 19:45

@hannah94L Congratulations on your little ones! Well done!!! Beautiful names too. Hope you are recovering well and glad to hear your triplets are doing so well

Knock123 · 13/10/2021 20:28

@Hannah94L congratulations!!! I am pleased to hear they have arrived safely, bet you can't wait to get them home! I hope you are physically recovering and feeling as well as possible!

How exciting that the first babies in our group have arrived x

Roopers · 13/10/2021 20:42

Eeeeeeeeeeeee @Hannah94L this is so amazing. Congratulations! Thrilled everyone's babies are on their way

Vintique · 14/10/2021 06:23

JackJack84 · 14/10/2021 08:03

Congratulations @Hannah94L!! So happy for you you all x

sparklyblue81 · 14/10/2021 11:13

Congratulations @Hannah94L - so glad that the triplets arrived safely & are doing so well
😍

@Lizlou85 I wouldn’t know Stacey Solomon had even had a baby so I say go for it. Rose is lovely - we had it on our girls list & it is such a traditional name that it’s not like she can lay claim to it exclusively 🤣 if it had of been something mega unusual it might have been more noticeable x

I’m finished work now and a bloody good job as I’ve had hardly any sleep all week between evil indigestion & getting up to the loo every couple of hours 😭 I had such a long list of things I wanted to sort before baby arrives but I just haven’t got the energy to motivate myself. I need a kick up the bum!!

Lizlou85 · 14/10/2021 11:20

@sparklyblue81 @Knock123 thanks both. I'm not a Stacey fan and don't normally worry about something like this but a lot of Friends follow her and I'm just worried if we go with Rose it will the "oh, like Stacy" and I'll have to explain for the first few months.

I'm using up annual leave this week then moved my Maternity leave from November 1st to this coming Monday. Planning on having half a day doing jobs around the house then afternoon on the sofa resting. If Little one isn't here early, I'm quarantining myself as much from people for the last 2 weeks, don't want to be giving birth full of cold or worse.

SweetSunflowerBoo · 14/10/2021 15:51

Joining as I've just been recommended this thread - how I've not seen it until now I do not know!

I don't feel prepared really. I know physically I am with everything for baby ready to go ect.
But not on the actual birth aspect!

I've just started red raspberry leaf tea
But I'm not sure when to start eating dates

And I still need to write my birth plan - but I have it in notes form on my phone so Atleast I'm not completely starting from scratch when I write it

My damn sickness won't go away either! Still relying on tablets and even then I'm still throwing up Envy

I can't believe how quick the time is going now...

Vintique · 14/10/2021 16:17

Welcome @SweetSunflowerBoo! Ooh is the raspberry leaf tea something to do with contractions? What are the dates for?

@Lizlou85 I love Rose too! I think you should go for it - sure there’ll be another celeb baby soon and everyone will forget. If anyone says anything just give them a withering look Wink

SweetSunflowerBoo · 14/10/2021 16:24

@Vintique
Red raspberry leaf tea is supposedly helpful in strengthening the uterus and improving labour and perhaps shortening it and it helps prevent excessive bleeding afterwards. (It's said to help with PMS and the pain of menstrual cramps too)

And dates are supposed to help induce a natural labour.

Whether they work or not I have no idea and I know everyone is different but it can't hurt to try.

Lizlou85 · 14/10/2021 16:41

@SweetSunflowerBoo welcome, you found us.
I've heard Raspberry leaf team is meant to help strengthen muscles and help with bleeding etc but living in a small town haven't been able to find it yet.
Not keen on dates but if I go over due will give anything a try.

Luckytattie · 14/10/2021 16:42

Hello can I join please?

I'm 33+4 due 29nov.

I'm actually hating the feeling of movements..does that make me a bad mother?!
I get a nippy feeling or something on my bladder..it is a very strange and horrible feeling.

I'm absolutely knackered.

Is anyone going for a homebirth?
Have you packed your bags yet?!

SweetSunflowerBoo · 14/10/2021 16:45

I got mine from Amazon. They also sell it in Holland and Barat
There are a lot of ones that are expensive because they put the words "pregnancy" or "labour" on it. But you only need "red raspberry leaf tea" as it's all the same.

I'm not a massive fan of dates either but I thought "if I eat my dates- I'll reward myself with something I really enjoy after" Grin

Luckytattie · 14/10/2021 16:45

Oh I had raspberry leaf tea and ate dates for a good few weeks before due date and I actually went 1 week early.
But my labour was 72 hours so definitely didn't help reduce the time!

Yogity · 15/10/2021 09:14

36+3 today and woke up with period type cramps and had a few twinges in my back yesterday. Hoping it's totally meaningless tbh because I am not prepared Confused. Haven't even packed my bag yet! Baby's movements feel so big atm. I really hope she isn't spinning round because she has been in a great position for weeks

@lizlou85 I wouldn't worry at all about Stacey Solomon naming her baby Rose. It's such a beautiful classic name, it's not like you've picked Apple or a more notorious celebrity name.

Welcome @SweetSunflowerBoo and @Luckytattie

SweetSunflowerBoo · 15/10/2021 11:05

@Yogity thank you!
I've been having pains like you've described too and I'm 34+4 but I'm going to ask my midwife about it today

Id get on and pack that bag just incase! You could go any minute!

I know what you mean by movements feeling so big ConfusedEnvy

SweetSunflowerBoo · 15/10/2021 12:13

I've just been to my midwife appointment (34+4) and I have to have a growth scan but I have to wait until Monday and I'm freaking out and worried!!
They said baby's heartbeat is good but I'm still so scared....

Knock123 · 15/10/2021 13:04

@SweetSunflowerBoo is baby measuring too big or too small? I had one around the same time as I was measuring small but it was all fine. I've got another this afternoon (37+2) as I've had two incidents of reduced movement.
I was also worried when I got referred last time and I was also referred on a Friday and had to wait until Monday but they said the guidelines are just really strict and they check even a minor change in growth - my measurements were only off by 8mm which let's be honest could be human error it's so tiny.
If they were super concerned they'd have got you scanned straight away today. It gives you another chance to have a peek at baby although not much to see as they're all squished up in there now!

SweetSunflowerBoo · 15/10/2021 13:12

@Knock123 they said smaller but they haven't said anything else. I just wished they had reassured me or explained a bit more.
I put a thread up because I don't understand what centile or anything means and I have a few people explaining it to me and reassuring me now- thank you MumsNet people

They asked me today "is that the top of your pubic bone" I'm like I don't know?? So maybe that's it?
Or just because I'm a small person

I've attached the chart

November 2021, thread 3 - hello second trimester!
Knock123 · 15/10/2021 13:45

@SweetSunflowerBoo yes mine looked very similar to this! Basically that x they mark should carry on going at the same angle and if it drops off like that they send you for a scan. At the scan they check babys head and tummy circumference, femur length, measure fluid and approx weight and check the blood flow from the placenta. Mine took about 30 mins as baby kept moving and wouldn't co-operate.

The whole measuring from the top of the pubic bone seems so unscientific doesn't it. The lady doing my scan said so many things can affect that measurement like how much or little you've eaten, how the baby is lying, the point the midwife measures from etc.

Honestly do not worry, the most likely thing is that you will have the scan and everything will be absolutely fine!! Try to keep busy over the weekend, go and do something nice for yourself to distract yourself xx

SweetSunflowerBoo · 15/10/2021 13:47

@Knock123 thank you
That makes so much more sense to me now!!

Usually my appointments are later in the day so I hadn't actually eaten anything before my appointment today
And yesterday I threw up everything but 1 meal so I haven't eaten much the last few days.

I'm currently sat binge watching greys anatomy to take my mind off things
