Hi everyone, following up from our second thread here.

We’re just about through morning sickness and odd early pregnancy symptoms… what will the second trimester bring?

@Roopers @Lizlou85 I'm normally cold blooded at the best of times, so thoroughly enjoying being the only one who isn't freezing now that the weather has turned where we are! We took the duvet out of the cover and just used sheets all summer if that is of any help to you. That and cool showers, ice lollies etc although im sure you have tried all that.

Baby is also doing acrobatics here too. I'm interested to see her position at my next growth scan because last time it was perfect head down, facing back etc. Just my luck she will have moved back to back or something

34 weeks today and feel like time is absolutely flying by. Crazy to think I only have 3-4 hospital appointments left.

How is everyone getting on? Only a few more days until we can say our babies are due next month!

Knock123 · 28/09/2021 15:44

I am also like a radiator these days but I'm usually always freezing!
I bought a Dyson air purifier fan at the start of summer and so glad I did because it has a quiet night mode and has been on constantly all night for the last month.
Had my growth scan today 35 weeks, all normal, baby is 5lb 8 so not tiny or huge and in the right position so now just got to wait! It feels so soon yet so far and I just have a feeling baby will be late and I'll be all huge and miserable bouncing on a ball waiting!

Katy4321 · 01/10/2021 13:01

I'm getting some strong kicks at times two. Find it hard to remember what the early flutters were like now, when i couldn't figure out if it was baby or wind!

Hope everyone is well. Next month most of us will have our babies!

Yogity · 04/10/2021 22:12

How is everyone getting on? First time feeling braxton hicks this week for me (I think?) . Making everything feel very real!

CakeIsTheAnswer123 · 04/10/2021 22:41

@Yogity Me too I think! I'm never sure whether I should stop what I'm doing and try to calm them down or just carry on and try to ignore them! Feels a bit like bump turns into a bowling ball which is a bit odd!

Katy4321 · 04/10/2021 22:54

@Yogity and @CakeIsTheAnswer123 I've been feeling them for quite some time, but find if i move to a different position the tight feeling goes - definitely gradually getting stronger
My little one regularly has hiccups now - is anyone else feeling that?

marykitty · 04/10/2021 23:03

Hello everyone! I am due 02Nov Smile with DD2 ❤

Feeling a lot of hiccups! And starting to feel tired, still 3 weeks to go until maternity leave!

Yogity · 05/10/2021 08:26

@CakeIsTheAnswer123 @Katy4321 Ah I'm glad it's not just me. I know logically that neither are a prediction of labour but I always feel between the BH and the early colostrum my body seems keen to serve that eviction notice!

@marykitty ah good luck for you in this last stretch. I'm due 9 Nov and off work from today (35 weeks) because I had 3 weeks annual leave carried over from last year that I'd have lost otherwise. Only 3 more Mondays to get through for you Smile

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 05/10/2021 16:35

Hello, I am due 29th Nov.
I've been ill all through this pregnancy with sinus infections and colds etc so I brought my maternity leave forward two weeks and it will start 29th Oct.
I am on two weeks annual leave and work part time so only have 8 days left to work!
I'm currently in bed having awoken from a nap. I am sooo tired.

Im not sure if this is Braxton Hicks but I'm getting waves of having a sore back just like I did when I went into labour with my son.
I dont remember having these before I was in labour though so this is a new thing for this pregnancy.
I've been told my iron levels are low and I got iron pills but haven't managed to take them yet.
I absolutely can't wait for the weeks to fly in. DS was one week early so I'm hoping this one will be too hehe

Vintique · 06/10/2021 14:35

Hi everyone hope all are ok. Anyone else had a flu shot? I got one yesterday and feeling extra tired today, although I seem to be tired all the time now! I have only this week and next at work, I’m using annual leave up too to lead into Mat leave, so finishing 15th Oct, hooray. I’m not due until 26th Nov although expecting c-section date for around 19th. My daughter was born at 32 weeks so now I’m past that point with this one it all feels like it could be any day now - although hopefully still a way to go! I’ve been eating loads of dried apricots for iron @JasonMomoasgirlfriend, not sure if it helps but I’m a bit addicted to them I think!

Lizlou85 · 06/10/2021 21:40

@Vintique I've got my flu shot on Saturday, never had one before.
I've been feeling the lack of energy more these last couple of weeks. I am due November 24th but am finishing work on October 22nd, can't wait. I'll have to give dried apricots as I love them and not had them in ages. Been binging on spinach lately, need a change.

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 06/10/2021 22:02

Thanks for the tip @Vintique I'll buy some tomorrow. :) Seems like we are very similar date wise and plan-wise but I took annual leave this week and next because my husband's workplace has a mandatory shutdown so thought we'd grab some time together before the new arrival :)

I had my second covid vaccine today. I have midwife app on Friday and she said I can have the flu jab then. I'm Gona see how I feel after this covid one first.

I am having lots of waves of sore back pains. It seems like contractions in my back. Didn't have this with DS!

Katy4321 · 06/10/2021 22:14

Welcome @marykitty and @JasonMomoasgirlfriend

I've had my flu shot a couple of weeks ago - felt tired after, but generally feel a bit tired anyway. Happy to have had it. Really want to avoid any of the viruses going around - seen several posts here by people in their last week or so of pregnancy saying they have a horrible cold.

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 06/10/2021 22:41

Think that would be the worst thing ever going into labour feeling rotten. Hope it doesn't happen to any of us.

Vintique · 07/10/2021 09:12

Yes hope not! We got flu 2 years ago and it was horrible - but at the moment even a cold is flooring me! How’s your back doing @JasonMomoasgirlfriend, hope it’s eased off?

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 07/10/2021 09:29

Yes it has eased off today thank goodness!
I know what you mean, I think our immune systems are just lower si we struggle to fight off anything.

I'm having crazy dreams at the moment. Anyone else?!

Vintique · 08/10/2021 10:50

I have had one weird dream where I was in surgery but the doctors kept snogging each other, and they got very annoyed at me for objecting - that must have been a c-section anxiety dream I think. But apart from that nothing exciting!

Roopers · 08/10/2021 16:15

Can anyone let me know where I can get a flu jab from? I'm 34 weeks and midwife hasn't mentioned anything....

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 08/10/2021 17:09

@Roopers I emailed my midwife and she said I could have it today although both she and I totally forgot so I've just emailed her to rearrange!

@Vintique I've had some family raunchy dreams Blush but also some terrifying nightmares too. Alot seem to be involving my DS being taken by Intruders and stuff. Bet that has some kind of deeper meaning with the new baby on the way!

Vintique · 08/10/2021 18:19

Oh no the nightmares sound awful @JasonMomoasgirlfriend. Hope the raunchy ones at least are more fun! Our brains work in strange ways don’t they - after my first child was born early I had horrible nightmares about her in various bodies of water, I think it was a way of processing the premature rupture of membranes. Also probably I was still awash with hormones!

@Roopers I also think ask the midwife, at my appointment it wasn’t scheduled but I mentioned it and they had just started the programme I think, she had to phone a colleague to check it was ok to give it out now.

Knock123 · 08/10/2021 19:28

@Roopers I had mine at Boots, just booked online and the pharmacist did it for me. Just had to fill a form with my details and ticked I'm pregnant

Lizlou85 · 08/10/2021 20:05

I just called my dr and they booked me for my flu jab.

Yogity · 08/10/2021 22:42

I read something during the week that said people seem to be getting hit harder with the cold because we'd all been wearing masks for so long we haven't been exposed to it as much. Not sure if there's any truth to the theory but certainly anyone I know who has had a cold seems to have been hit a little harder. Fingers crossed we all avoid it, and seasonal flu too.

I started mat leave (well technically annual leave) this week and it has been such a joy to nap whenever I want! Grin Carpal tunnel seems to be getting worse and worse. This is our first baby. Wondering if any more experienced mamas on this thread with carpal tunnel in pregnancy might shed some light on when it went away?

@JasonMomoasgirlfriend hope your back feels better soon! Sounds less than pleasant! Also had a few of the the raunchy dreams Blush DH thinks its hilarious

Lizlou85 · 12/10/2021 20:02

Help! So we've had Rose on our short list for girls names for months. Now Stacy Solomon has come out and named her daughter Rose, will everyone think we've copied her? DH doesn't see an issue and thinks I'm over reacting, AM I?

Knock123 · 12/10/2021 21:10

@Lizlou85 oh bless you, I'd have no idea what Stacey Solomon had named her daughter and even then its not like they'll be running in the same circles. Rose is a beautiful, classic name and if you love it, use it.
